We learn that Lord Ruler is immortal and kelsier is half blood. Trap was beheaded.

Austere - severe in manner or appearance

As I said my eyes won't stay awake. It was a struggle to get through the last 5 pages. Night will read in morning chapter 3.

Chapter 3 finally got me more interested!

Just finished Chapter 3. Yes it's getting better. Here's my notes from Chapter 3.

pg 50 - used luck on her? What does that mean? Magic? There are 8 powers?
pg 52 - What is a mistings? (not in dictionary) See page 60.

pg 58 - What is a Allomantic? (not in dictionary)
pg 60 - People who perform 1 out of 8 are mistings.

Yup my brain is trying to process all of this! Will read chapter 4 later.

Just caught up with section - will keep reading! I'll try to answer some off your ?s :

Allomancy to my understanding (I didn't research it) is magic through the power of metals. Alloy = metals

Mistings are what people in their world are called who have one of the 12 (I think) types of power. People who have 2 or more are called Mistborn, like Vin and Kelsier.

Luck is what Vin refers to as her powers. Remember that she didn't know what it was until Kelsier rested her and told her about it. So in her inner monologue she refers to it as "luck".

No problem! Answering your questions is helping me comprehend better too :) it's definitely a dense read with a lot happening! But I'm really enjoying it so far :)

Your notes are helping me also thanks for the break up. So far I'm enjoying it even though I'm slightly behind the rest of you. It's kind of reminding me of the Fallen Kingsoms series just the tiniest bit. Minus there aren't multiple characters taking turns telling the story. The world is interesting and the characters are interesting. I like Vin so far. I hope they go more into her background.

Goal:
Kill Lord Ruler. If can't kill either trick and rob him.
