Today, I am off from work to do things around the house. I'm starting a new chapter in my life...Having a difficult time getting started.
Lunch first, perhaps...
You can do it! You have half an hour to slob out then it's time to start, go you.
Yay only one more day in my working week :)

I passed my essay, I'm so pleased. It was tough getting motivated to write it whilst working full time. But, now it's done.
Mum arrives at the station at 1pm, it's currently an hour off. Have hoovered, had a boiler service, made a bed and given a superficial tidy, fixed boiler and finally having porridge before I meet her.
There will be cake and lunches. Not a lot of reading though.

Starting to count down the days. Only five months until I retire from my full-time job. And, then my yearly reading challenge can be set at 200 books instead of 100! :)

LOL!"
Seriously, I am!
Maybe I'll go get my cappuccino and sit in the corner a while.
I've decided Wednesday is my Official Night o' Mostly Reading, unless there's something else on the calendar. And these days, that means that most Wednesdays, after work I head down to Acadia (a local bar/tavern/pub/what have you), snag a booth or a table, and spend a couple of hours reading on my Kindle whilst enjoying a lovely beverage or two and a black bean burger with fries.
I love black beans. This is the thread that gives me jealousy.
My mum has started reading a book, it's the second one this year, or in my life!

Congrats on your retirement! And Joseph that sounds amazing. This winter I've vowed to setting up my reading room- getting my hubby to move my bookshelves (not the hardest part, it's all the books) into our sitting room and setting up our fireplace as a wood stove. Maybe I'll let the dogs and my cat hang out in there with me too :)

Thanks. I love alone, bar cats, and I filled the dining room with bookcases and refer to it as the morning room, when it gets the sunshine.
Saw mum off on the train today after her visit. Then my daughter turned up for the day. Lunch, drinks, films. Lovely time and she's gone, again.
I like to make Christmas cards to give. The last couple of years, that has fallen through. So I thought I'd take this rainy day to plan something.Instead, I've been thinking of dioramas.
I always take on too much and end up nowhere.
Tea is especially good today. Just plain tea nothing special.
I've just made tea. I used to make cards, I also used to cross-stitch huge pictures. Now, I work and play on this.
Mum is aboard a ship, sailing off to sunnier climes, well potentially.
Don't suppose she'll see much til morning, it's 5:20pm and dark here.

Well, my reading will be short and sweet for some time since Fallout 4 is out! Post-apocalyptic nuclear world here I come.
Sounds interesting. I keep trying to work out how I can fit more reading in. Currently, I have to be immortal to read all the books I want. I need a vampire...
I'm more of an Elder Scrolls girl myself. I incorporate my fantasy obsession into pretty much all my hobbies. Helen, if you ever find that vampire, remember to share the love with all of us who want to read all the books.

Gaming??
Elder Scrolls is my other love, played Skyrim 150+ hours, but now it's time for something different, from the same company though :) Last game I finished was The Witcher 3, though the first expansion is still waiting to be properly started.
Bond, James Bond?;)
I like Daniel Craig.
Think Sean Connery will always be my favorite. But Daniel is a close second.
I know! I was tempted into reading the two as this group and another we're reading one of each. Then I discovered the truth!
The weather was so bad in the night that it woke me. Now we have sunshine despite loads of flood warnings.
Pouring now. I need to go and buy food. Hoping for a dry half hour, long enough to walk there and back.
