Kirsten (kmcripn) Booklistreader.com had an article about the trend on unreliable narrators and unlikable people: Unreliable Narrators and Unlikeable People: 8 Killer Examples of Psychological Suspense

http://www.booklistreader.com/2015/09...

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins A Pleasure and a Calling by Phil Hogan The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson All the Old Knives by Olen Steinhauer In the Blood by Lisa Unger The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson Jack of Spades by Joyce Carol Oates

What do you think? Can you think of examples of this? I remember a traumatic experience reading that classic unreliable narrator in The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I couldn't read a book in the first person for years afterwards! Also, when you go to unlikable characters, may I suggest The Lying Tongue by Andrew Wilson?

Courtney (sekay88) The best Unreliable Narrator (and thriller) that I've ever read was Now You See Me by S.J. Bolton (now Sharon Bolton). Amazing book.
Now You See Me (Lacey Flint, #1) by S.J. Bolton

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments I am currently reading Dog on It (A Chet and Bernie Mystery #1) by Spencer Quinn Dog on It. I am about half way through. It is a mystery taken from Chet the dogs POV. Although, the mystery is good I get bored with Chet continually talking going out and having to bark at one of his friends or whatever else a dog has to do.

I'm listening to Small Favor (The Dresden Files, #10) by Jim Butcher and reading Echo (Black Lotus, #2) by E.K. Blair

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments I just finished a trilogy by Lori Handleland In the Air Tonight (Sisters of the Craft, #1) by Lori Handeland , Heat of the Moment (Sisters of the Craft, #2) by Lori Handeland , Smoke on the Water (Sisters of the Craft, #3) by Lori Handeland . All were written in first person and I think they did a pretty good job. When the heroines were talking it was good, but when it went to the other characters the writing switched to 3rd person. I kind of like that.
