I read it just to get a sample of Caroline B. Cooney because she has B.C. in her name, plus she's an author in my school's library. I thought she would also fit in a suspense /thriller category, and it turns out it would be on the bottom of my to-read list, if I had one. Perhaps because it isn't meant for someone in their mid-forties, and seems very drawn out in the protagonist's tendency to be left alone in in her summer house, I skimmed through a large section of the book. I will not be getting this one for my library, but will give Cooney a second chance if "giving an author a second chance" shows up on the 2016 list.

That's very fair of you. You'd try another of her books though?
