Okay so this group is boring without discussions so ill start it off. What did you guys think of "The fault in our stars" ? Have you read it? Favourite quotes , characters , scenes ?
ps. You guys can make discussions on anything you want .

Ellie | 34 comments I haven't read it yet, but it is definitely on my never ending list of books to read. I hope that I will be able to get around to it fairly soon. I've heard that it's really good though.

message 3: by Lexie (new)

Lexie | 6 comments I really enjoyed The Fault in Our Stars. I lived the author's sarcastic humor and found it extremely easy to relate to Gus and Hazel. I find it beautiful yet strange that when I was reading the book, I sort of wishes that I was Hazel. I found myself envying her family life, her friendships, and her relationship with Gus. I lived the scene when they have dinner together. It makes me so happy. I don't have the book in front of me at the moment, but I remember when I was reading it, I thought that Hazel's quotes were extremely meaningful and significant. I really think t change my life. Or at least have me a more optimistic outlook on what I have.

message 7: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie D (axolotled) "I'm on a roller coaster that only goes up my friend"

I loved it. The humor, the drama and I don't think there was one aspect (except the end) that I didn't enjoy.

message 9: by Renee (new)

Renee I CRIED SO HARD! AND omg has anyone heard the Kate Rudd audiobook of TFIOS??? omg she is sooo awesome at reading characters!

message 10: by Kyliejames (new)

Kyliejames | 2 comments tfios was amazinggggg. My favourite character is peter van houten(strange i know but ill tell you why). Hes the perfect villain and his eccentric nature makes the book so much funnier , or maybe thats just my opinion :P

message 11: by Renee (new)

Renee he is really funny. And I like how we find out his backstory about his daughter too, that made me sympathetic towards him a bit more.

message 12: by Laurel (new)

Laurel I am in the middle of reading it and i can't put it down! I love this book so much so far and cant wait to finish it. I started reading it because i watched the trailer for the movie and fell in love and i also just finished the divergent series and saw the movie and loved them to no end as well. I have been told by many that this book will make me cry and i am prepared to cry my eyes out!

message 13: by Renee (new)

Renee yup! But it's also so funny isn't it? I just looove Gus! He's so funny and adorable!
And poor poor Isaac!

message 14: by Renee (new)

Renee (renspill) | 22 comments I'm really excited for the movie because I read the book a while ago and I was constantly checking for casting updates everyday after school and now i'm finally almost there to seeing the movie! After seeing the trailer, i really think that this movie is going to be perfect!
(I never, ever cry during books and i literally cried the entire last 200 pages, so me in the movie is going to be something to watch)

message 15: by Renee (new)

Renee yup! I used half a box of tissues when I read The Fault In Our Stars for the first time.

And all the trailers and everything looks so amazing!

And when I was in Amsterdam,I checked out some of the film sites and just had an abundance of feels!

message 16: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 2 comments Hey everybody! I just started reading this book yesterday and so far I like it! I don't read a lot of realistic YA (ie no supernatural, fantasy, sci fi element) so this is a big change for me! Some of the dialogue is SO FUNNY, I love it haha! I can't wait to finish, although I have been warned to keep tissues ready at the end......?

it's a good book to start off with then..Yes do keep a box no wait 2 boxes of tissue ready...it's really quite heart wrenching (in a good way..if that makes any sense)

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments I've got the book, it is good? in case i need a box of tissues later on, im only a few pages in though

message 19: by Renee (new)

Renee I love it, and yes omg if you forget the ending it is one of the funniest books! And Hazel has such sass! Even in her thoughts!
:D

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

*sobbing* I loved it ...*sniff* It was great.

message 21: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 2 comments I finished this book while in a car with a whole bunch of friends. Needless to say they kept asking if I was ok when they saw the tears streaming down my face lol

message 22: by Maddie (new)

Maddie I'm rereading it now and I'm just bracing myself for the tears. This books is one of the books that I just fall in love with every single quote. I honestly love how Gus and hazel speak to each other and think.

message 23: by Angie (new)

Angie (angiejh) | 45 comments ***Spoiler Alert***
I loved this book. It was so sad, yet so beautiful. I didn't think I was going to like it that much because it was written by John Green and I had read a couple of his novels before which were certainly over-rated. So I was surprised to find myself liking it.
I never truly cried in the book, though at one point my eyes may have had tears in them *shifty eyes*. I think the saddest part wasn't when Augustus died, but when he was so ill that he was barely himself. The chapter that ends with (and this was the Last Good Day before the Last Good Day) was so sad!
I feel like I want to read the novel again up to the part where we see Augustus really sick and just end it there.

I saw the trailer to the movie and it actually doesn't look too bad, will have to go see it at the movies!

message 24: by Meagan (new)

Meagan Wilkins | 25 comments This book was soooooo good. I actually borrowed it from a friend and it was so good that I went and bought it so that I could read it again. Ugh the feels. I love it so much. It's funny, sad, and just wonderful.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments really? i'm at the picnic part, but this is really boring so far.

message 26: by Meagan (new)

Meagan Wilkins | 25 comments It gets soooo much better. Trust me.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments I put my faith in you

message 28: by Meagan (new)

Meagan Wilkins | 25 comments Hahaha in the beginning it was kind of a drag but once you get into it, you can't put it down.

message 30: by Leah (new)

Leah | 620 comments Ye. You better read on.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments my my, do they have to be so formal? and god peter is confusing in that letter...

message 32: by Leah (new)

Leah | 620 comments Lol.

message 34: by Leah (new)

Leah | 620 comments Meh.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments really? I can't seem to get stuck in it

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Looking for Alaska seems to be the most appealing looking John Green book. I haven't read it yet but I don't get the book description. I mean what is the Great Perhaps?

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments You know it was only a month ago when I realised in class, that Alaska is in America and not in the Arctic

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments I know, color me shocked

message 39: by Leah (new)

Leah | 620 comments Ye, that was really stupid. Oh and btw to everyone else, if you haven't already noticed she's not great with places and that kinda geography. She thought Cardiff was the Capital of Swansea and she didn't know that London was in England. A Geography teacher thinks she should do GCSE Geography and that I'M the one that needs to practise knowing where places are.

message 41: by Leah (new)

Leah | 620 comments Uh hu. Yep.

i loved it. it just got me in tears. this intense deep love story is very emotional and great. one of my favourite quotes are - im on a rollercoaster that only goes up.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments im still reading it and it's still really boring. is there a good part coming after they meet Peter in Amsterdam? cos that's where i'm at now

message 49: by Sikhandi, Founder (new)

Sikhandi Thiagarajah | 494 comments Mod
no its coming out in june or july.. cant wait but i find it a bit strange in the sense that shailenes boyfriend(ansel elgort aka augustus waters) is her brother (caleb prior) in divergent. Thats the reason i cant seem to ship them..i feel its wrong somehow :P

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments yeah, i watched the trailer and it just felt like incest to me
