Emma | 96 comments A few people have shown interest in doing a buddy read for this book. We will be starting soon. Anyone is welcome to join. :)

Angie | 623 comments Thanks Emma, I'm going to enjoy this one:)

Emma | 96 comments When do you want to start?

Parvathi | 25 comments Now? I'm going to enjoy this one too.

Angie | 623 comments Do you remember spangles? That takes me right back to when I was a kid!

message 6: by Emma (new) - added it

Emma | 96 comments ye just read at our own pace?

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Emma, you might just want to remind everyone that if you read at your own pace, to be mindful of spoilers. Sometimes people forget that some people aren't up to the same part of the book.

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments I always put (spoilers) in the topic of the discussion thread so people look out for that. I think there might be a way to put that in your comments in here too though.

Angie | 623 comments This book is very readable. Did anyone have that many sisters and brothers? Its nice that they all seem close even though they live so far apart from each other.

Emma | 96 comments ye i am enjoying it, not very far through. only page 40, been really busy. How far in are you?

Angie | 623 comments I kinda couldn't stop reading last night so I'm up to part 2, but I'll wait now until you guys catch up. But how bad was it with Lorene just daydreaming her day away to watching her mum kill someone. Pop goes the idilic childhood. She must of realised she needed to cover for her quite quickly though.

Emma | 96 comments You don't need to wait, at least for me, it's going to take a long time for me to read this. I am very busy at work and shattered when I get home.

Angie | 623 comments What do you work as Emma? And I don't mind waiting , it gives me time to read the other books on my currently reading list.

Emma | 96 comments Just now as a barista, my boss in going away for a few days in a few days so I in all day everyday, not going to be fun, would like to get as much done as I can before then, but I have taken too many books on at once so I am finding hard to progress.

Angie | 623 comments I've got a lot on at the moment, but I try and read some out of a couple a day, but goodreads takes time as well. I don't have to work full time though so my days have more time. Its busy for me tomorrow as all my family are coming round so I've been trying to get caught up. Good luck with work for the next few days then Emma, hope its not to busy:)

Parvathi | 25 comments I hope things improve soon at your workplace, Emma.

I've got a lot on as well, I think my progress will be a bit slow. But yay, I've started reading! :) Haven't got that far in, but I like it so far.

Angie | 623 comments Its good,I like how all the sisters have different personality's. I'm looking forward to meeting the brother.

Angie | 623 comments I'm quite far along on this book now, I found it difficult to stop reading it. I love the mystery that Laurel is uncovering. (view spoiler)

Emma | 96 comments I am on page 80, getting there slowly. Really liking it though. Think I am going to stop and read something light until I get a day off. So on Monday.

Parvathi | 25 comments There's an air of mystery about the story...it's quite interesting so far.

Angie | 623 comments where are you up to Parthavi? I'm at part three now which is Vivian's section. I've been looking forward to finding out more about her. she's definitely the most mysterious person in the book.

Angie | 623 comments I think I'm going to be finishing this over the rest of the weekend, I've been finding it hard to put down! I love Jimmy, the more I read about him the more I like him:) the image I have of him taking all his photos during the blitz is so strong. (view spoiler)

Parvathi | 25 comments Just on page 127 now, new chapter.

Aren't the different perspectives from different time periods cool? And yes, Vivian is mysterious...so many secrets!

Angie | 623 comments Vivian ended up being my favourite character, she had so much sadness in her life and not just because it was war time either. I loved how the book jumps from one era to another but apparently lots of Kate Morton books do this, this one was the first I've read of hers. Have you read any of the others?

message 25: by Emma (new) - added it

Emma | 96 comments I've read, The House at Riverton (My favourite) and The forgotten Garden. I am having a little trouble getting into it. Will keep trying though. I like the idea of the story, I just cannot seem to care about the characters especially Dolly.

Angie | 623 comments I didn't like Dolly at all, not a very nice character at all. She just didn't seem to live in the real world and was very selfish. The way she treats people was just uncaring unless there's something in it for her. I'll have to look up those other books, my tbr list is just so incredibly long now a few more added won't make much difference:-)

Emma | 96 comments I knoe the feeling Angie, I think I could read a book a day for the rest of my life and I would not get to the end, but I keep adding and buying lol. Since I do not read a book a day either, gonna take even longer lol. Well at least I know it's not just me then, that might make it easier to read :)

Parvathi | 25 comments I've the house at riverton here somewhere. I've read the forgotten garden too.

This book's taking me a bit of time...things are a bit hectic with work. Plus I've got a few books for review and one's a bit nasty :/

You know, I love adding books to my wishlists. One day I shall get around to reading every single one! hehe

Emma | 96 comments I am the same, work has calmed down for me thankfully, but I do have the aftermath of housework and reading to do, also I am trying to write my own book just now that is not going very well.

Parvathi | 25 comments Wow you're writing a book? All the best, I'm looking forward to it!

message 31: by Emma (new) - added it

Emma | 96 comments Ye not going so well, but I am determined. :)

Emma | 96 comments Ye, my bf has just managed to get a job so I can cut back my hours at work so I will have more time to write (and read). But thanks, it means a lot that people are rooting for me :D

Angie | 623 comments Its really cool that you're writing a book Emma, what genre is it going to be? Can't wait to read it-:)
