Linda | 85 comments Here is my list. I have read 18 so far - many from when I was in school so some of those I would like to reread (1984 and To Kill a Mockingbird, for example). I will update the above list as I make progress. Right now I am reading other books not on the list, so it may be awhile.

Martha (marthas48) I'm not reading on this list right now either. Am in another list group and have read Memoirs of a Geisha and now on another from that list that isn't on this one. I love TKAM and will reread every few years. There are some others, too, that I'd like to reread ... like Little Women, 1984, the HP series.

I've never been one to reread books since there are so many out there for me to read for the first time. But some of these classics I read 25 years ago, so I think they deserve a reread. :)

I'm also crossing books off the "1001 Books to Read Before You Die", so I'm in the middle of 3 of those books right now.

Martha (marthas48) I know what you mean. Many I read in high school and I'm 65 now so that was many, many years ago. Am rereading the Agatha Christie books and usually don't remember the guilty party. Some were so outstanding though that I've never forgotten.

Linda | 85 comments I just started Don Quixote. It's going to take me awhile since I'm adhering to a group reading schedule, but already I'm finding it quite an enjoyable read!

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 743 comments I'm enjoying DQ too, it's funny.

Linda | 85 comments Just finished up Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.

I started off really enjoying Don Quixote, and was quite surprised by the humor and especially the potty humor - I totally was not expecting that for something written in the very early 1600s. But towards the last 200 pages or so, I was ready for the adventures to be done, not because I wasn't still enjoying them but there seemed to be a lot of the same.

I gave it 4 stars, and would definitely go back and reread at least parts of it. Also, I love Sancho Panza, he's probably one of my favorite characters of all time.

Thanks! I'm usually a stickler for finishing books. Although I could have used a longer break in between Part I and II, but wanted to stick to the group schedule. I'm glad I'm done, though, even if it was a fun read.

Linda | 85 comments I just finished reading Ulysses by James Joyce. It's good to have that one crossed off. I gave it 3 stars, here's my review:

Linda | 85 comments Reviving my list progress, the last time I marked a book off was over 3 years ago. Yikes! Since then I've read 3 more books so I now stand at having read 23 of the 50. Almost halfway. The books I just marked off are -

The Quiet American by Graham Greene
Moby-Dick or, The Whale by Herman Melville
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll
