Hello to all old bookdragonfriends and welcome to all new members! We are glad you decided to join us!

Our bookclub is now a few month old and we thought due to recent events, that we should freshen up the rules and our organisation a little. :-)

You may have realized, that we were a little inactive lately, due to everyone of us being quite busy with reallife. This can't be helped sometimes, but we still try our best to give you nice books to read alongside us each month. But the discussions have lacked some activity lately. We realized that some feel that we can't meet the expectations and lack activity.
We talked it over and agreed to give you all a little more opportunities to discuss our chosen books, by going back to our old system with the reading sections and a final discussion at the end of the month. This seems to have worked best until now. :-)

This being said, we apologize for being a little inactive lately and invite you guys again for future discussions. But we also want to mention: For us, the bookclub in the first place, was created just for fun. If you are in any way unhappy with us, please try messaging a moderator first, before creating topics advertising other suppossedly better bookclubs and degrading not only our bookclub, but us as individuals. We definetly would have reacted to a private message.(You can definetly message me, if you feel any need to discuss something that has been on your mind, whether it's a complaint or a general idea to improve things a little.) But bashing us publicy without first giving us the chance to handle it in a proper way and search for solutions, is neither an appropiate nor a very mature way to go about things.

You will understand, that we deleted said topics. Our mainfocus still lies with our instagrampage. Goodreads was meant as support, not the other way around.

We want to call to mind, how much time we invested in the beginning to create the whole system with instagram, voting, favourites of the month, goodreads, etc and our mainfocus still lies with Instagram. We were the first bookclub to create such a system and although we were a little absent lately, we still invested quite a lot of time into Wethebookdragons, which other bookclubs didn't have to, because they just copied our whole system. (With which we are also completely fine, since a bookclub is an enjoyable thing and we feel no need to lash out on others because of such minor issues.) But it really hurts, when people start promoting their own pages on our side, all the while degrading us. Please keep in mind to place your complaints without being rude and like I said: try private messages first. ;-)

So this is all for the 'reprimanding' part of our update.
Now on to some exciting updates, you will all (hopefully) feel thrilled about!
We are planning our very first Wethebookdragons giveaway over at Instagram! So definetly keep your eyes open for some swag coming soon! <3

And to close this update, I want to say a huge THANK YOU, to everyone of you who has been supportive all through our highs and lows! I know this whole post seems really negative, but it was just an individual case that led to this. Still thank you to those who complained. There definetly was some thruth to it and we will work things out from now on. (But there are better ways to place complaints. And of course you are free to join whichever bookclub you prefer. But again, please refrain from using our site as an promotional stage.)
And to everyone who has stayed with us until now: You guys are amazing and we love interacting with you and we are deeply sorry we have been lacking lately!

I am actually really excited for November's book. I've seen several pictures on Instagram and the formatting seems really different and fun.
I'm new to the group so I don't know what's happened in the past but I'm excited to see what happens in the future!

I just discovered you guys recently on Instagram and the October book is the first I've joined in on. I can sympathize with trying to fit everything in to a busy schedule and never having as much time for books and reading as you'd like. Even if I was aware of a local book club, it probably wouldn't work with my schedule so I was really glad to find online ones. I'll be sticking around...really looking forward to reading Illuminae in November.
