Annie Carlisle (anniecarlisle) | 2 comments Sooo.....my book is currently free (please go get it), and I checked my ranking in my categories this morning and one category it said my book was ranked #10 and the other category it was ranked at #34.

What does that mean? Does it mean I'm now an Amazon Best Selling Author? Because technically....I didn't sell the book...I gave it away. Don't get me wrong...I want to say I'm an Amazon Best Selling Author...very, very badly. I just want to say it when it's actually true.

When I logged onto Amazon this morning...I didn't hear any fan fair....no flashing lights....no 'Good Job' or 'Congratulations, You're a best selling author'....nothing. So am I or am I totally reading it wrong? BTW...I took screenshots....you know...just in case. :o)

Thanks for your input....now go get my book!!!

Rachel Eliason (RachelEliason) | 102 comments Congratulations, you are, by technicality, a best seller. Unfortunately unless you rank in the top for sales overall, it doesn't mean much. I've known authors that were in the top ten in some tiny category and then slapped "Amazon Best Seller" on their cover, but it comes across as tacky and dishonest at best.
When I rank in a category I do a little happy dance in my house and then move on. :-)
