Who's Your Author? discussion

This challenge was inspired by St. George whom legend has it slew a dragon. His memorial is celebrated on April 23rd, and he is regarded as one of the most prominent military saints.



The kingdom is being overrun by dragons. Your quest, if you choose to accept it, is to help us rid the kingdom of dragons one book at a time.

The Royal Rules:
Option 1 - Seek out and devour books with dragons or things associated with them in the title, on the cover, or within the pages.

Option 2 - Hunt down your prey and display the books you've read by spelling out words associated with dragons. (Spell-it-out) Using words associated with dragons (List at bottom of the post). Feel free to use one listed or if you know of one not listed, feel free to use it instead.) Spell out the word you desire using the first letter of the title, the first letter of the name of characters (first, last or nickname) or the first letter of the author's name (first or last). You may also ignore the 'A', 'An', 'The', etc. at the beginning of titles and start with the first significant word. So The Night Circus may be used as an 'N' title and A Kiss of Shadows may be used as a 'K' title.

Example of a Spell-It-Out:

I - The Ill-Made Knight by Christian Cameron
R - Real Vampires Have Curves by Gerry Bartlett
E - Eric in Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris

Option 3 - Tell your 'Dragon Tale' by using the titles and covers to tell your story.

Example of a Dragon Tale:
Upon a Winter's Night I saw a Tall, Dark And Dangerous form Cast in Shadow. A Dragon Actually. Thinking I was In Big Trouble I wondered if it would Bite Me, swallow me whole or I'd be Burned to a crisp. I turned and looked for an Escape. But as I started to run a voice stopped me.

"Don't go." I turned and stared into a pair of Golden Eyes. A man now stood where the dragon had been.

He looked like this:


He told me he only wished to talk and we ended up living happily Immortally Ever After.

THE END

Option 4 - Using covers, title, etc. create your own magical kingdom. Pick out the royal kingdom's name, colors, crest, the royal crown, hand pick your knights of the reading table, tell us of the dragon(s)to be slayed, etc.

Example:
Royal Colors - Purple; and Silver;
Name of the Kingdom - The Swan Kingdom
Royal Motto - Never Say Die
Royal Crest - a Direwolf;

Great challenge. I highly recommend Deborah Cooke's Dragonfire series! It is sort of like the Blackdagger Brotherhood series but with dragons.

Monica McCarty, MacLeods of Skye Trilogy. They all start with the word Highlander.

For "I" I would recommend any of Larissa Ione's books.

Or Ilona Andrews, they are both my go to I authors.

Don't forget you can use series names as well eg Immortals After Dark
