Where the Mountain Meets the Moon discussion

"Where The Mountain Meets The Moon" by Grace Lin is a fictional tale about a girl named Minli who works hard trying to earn a living, along with her family. Minli's dad tells her stories of the old man of the moon who can change your fortune, and Minli believes she can go on a quest to find him.

I believe that Minli's mother is a dynamic character because she does not believe in this dream coming true, and thinks that the journey will not help at all. Towards the end of the book, when Minli comes back from actually meeting the man of the moon, her mother starts to believe in the tales. Also, she becomes more open to adventure.

In addition, Minli is a round character because we get to know a lot about her personality throught the story. When she faces hardships along the way, we get to learn about her true character and who she really is.
