2017 Reading Challenge discussion

I took a slightly different approach to this category. I couldn't recall a book I didn't finish in school (though I'm sure there were a few). Instead, I chose a book that most students read in school but was never assigned to me. I really like The Outsiders. Ponyboy's voice is so real to me even though the world he lives in is so foreign. It's such a short story and there's not a whole lot of growth to the characters but it still speaks on so many levels that I can understand why it's a schoolroom staple. I'm glad I finally picked it up and understand what my husband loved so much about it.
