I am wondering if anyone has read these books and sees any similarities between the two alien races. Cho'Ja and the Formic (buggers)

I've read both, but apart from the fact that they're both insectoid, I think that they're both very different. It probably depends on what you're asking - whether you're thinking about physical appearance, societal structure, or something else.

message 3: by Anna (new)

Anna Erishkigal (annaerishkigal) Oy ... GAH! I've read both, but it's been so long I don't remember all that many similiarities.

Matthew Willis (matthewleewillis) Well its says that they have a hive mind. Also it says they are able to talk to queens anywhere in any hive, that they are the same and they have an ancient knowledge of all time.

The Cho'Ja have a very defined and described society, and you get to meet many individuals over the course of the Riftwar and Empire Series. The Formics much less so, in my memory of the stories. More than anything you heard intermittently from the Queen, rather than individuals.

I think their society is more implied than defined, which leads to more speculation.
