Jeane (pinkbookdragon) | 323 comments Let's stop looking at the deeper meaning of the human condition in metaphoric terms in the Heart of Darkness for a little bit and think about the book as an adventure and mystery story. I thought it was very exciting and suspenseful in many parts! What do you think?

Daniel Clark I did like the suspense, it definitely built as you went upriver. The creepiness increases too. On the other hand, I felt like there was not really a plot per se.

Whitney (helloooooo) | 13 comments I agree, Daniel! Heart of Darkness is so simple, in terms of "plot." Protagonist looks for Kurtz; Protagonist finds Kurtz; and then he deals with the aftermath of having found Kurtz, lol.

I feel like the suspense had me keep turning the pages. I really enjoyed it.
