Anna Erishkigal (annaerishkigal) In the near future, Space Opera Fans would like to offer reading challenges to encourage community members to read great space opera books, discuss them and leave reviews for them. This is good for the genre as a whole because it creates a positive feedback loop to encourage readers to keep visiting the Science Fiction stacks at the library or online bookstore, and it is also good for anybody who donates a book, swag or other product for a challenge because it increases your visibility and helps you reach out to genre-fans.

If you would like to donate an autographed copy of your book, swag, a gift-card to your favorite online bookstore, or even some other product for an upcoming reading challenge, please drop a comment in the thread below.

Anybody who donates goodies for our SOF reading challenges will be sent extra good vibrations from The Force as well as whatever nice, glowing blurb I can cram into the limited space of a challenge folder.

Yay! I'll set up a challenge ... around mid-month (15th)? I'd like to run them opposite the BOTM club. Maybe an Easter challenge? A spring-fling? I like to 'theme' them on something neutral, like a TBR reading list, or books with alien invasions, and then feature the donation prominently in the challenge write-up plus the announcement emails. Got one running in my LoP group right now.

Jonathan Bergeron (scifi_jon) | 370 comments I'll donate a signed copy of my book Android Hunters and a $15 Barnes and Noble gift card. How do I do the donation and who does it go to?

*not sure how to show an image of my book in the comments

Let me think on this Jonathan? It's one of those projects I -wanted- to get off the ground, and never did because I'm too busy.

Might I suggest you run a contest off your own website and offer up the autographed book / gift card as a prize to whoever signs up for your email list? That way -you- get the benefit of the your work instead of Amazon / Goodreads. And maybe send some second-prizes to other people of a free ebook? I am now allowing those kinds of raffles to be posted here.
