Jocelyn Sanchez (dobby2266) | 19 comments Hi everyone :) My name is Jocelyn and I’m an avid reviewer and write reviews on Goodreads and Amazon, but I can also post my review on B&N. Before I go on, I’ll like to disclose that at the moment, I’ll only be reviewing print copies and can't review e-books. Over the years I have started to have chronic migraines and any source of light, be it an overhead light, computer screen, or even my phone’s light have triggered one. That, plus I’m not on my phone or computer a lot, due to those migraines plus me working, and going to school.

My favorite genres are: Erotica, Contemporary fiction, Romance (Any kind), Fantasy, Mystery, Horror, Sci-fi, historical fiction, etc. If you have a book that’s genre is not listed above, you can ask me to review anyway, and I’ll see if I’m interested based on the blurb. I love trying new genres to try!

A little about me: I'm 20 years old and I've been reviewing books for about five years. I fell in love with books when I was 11, when I read Little Women. I've been reading ever since. I go to school full-time and I work part-time, so I'm constantly busy, but always make time to read. I always have a book in my hand. Reading is my escape!! :) And what a beautiful escape it is.

You can either private message me here or comment below and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible :)

Thanks so much for your time!

Ellie Blackwood (ellieblackwood) Hi, Jocelyn!

Would you consider reviewing my first children's book, Introducing Super Sporty? It's a superhero adventure for ages 7+, and I can provide you with a .mobi file (being a children's book, it's not very long).

I don't know if children's books are really your thing, but I just thought I'd ask :)

Best wishes,
Ellie xx

Holly Berry (Naughty or Nice? #1) by Emma Jaye

I'm happy to provide review copies.

Shaking his 'master' snow globe, Father Christmas searched for a solution to the biggest pain in the butt he’d suffered from in years. The fact that Holly’s personality was completely his fault didn’t help. Everyone at the North Pole was suffering, including Holly because he’d had a few too many sherries before magicking her into existence to help with the Christmas rush.
Somewhere on Earth, there had to be someone who had a Christmas wish to spend some time with a cute, pain loving, sarcastic and bolshie blonde girl, who had a significant chip on her shoulder.
Father Christmas chuckled to himself as an image of a tall, brown haired man appeared in his globe. Oh yes, Kian Thompson had been a very good boy for quite a few years now, and he deserved a reward. Whether he’d cope with the reward who would soon be on her way to him, was quite another matter.

Warning: Contains gratuitous festive references of a significantly English nature, kinky fairy action, and one frequently bewildered human Dom.

Alicia Hooper | 2 comments Hi Jocelyn!

I'd like to offer you my debut novel, Reunion with the Colonel, for a possible review. I am an indie author who is new to Goodreads and I'm on the hunt for awesome reviewers!

Reunion with the Colonel by Alicia Hooper

My book is a fictional political thriller set in Gaddafi's Libya. It is a short, but intense and shocking read that includes few surprises. It is the first in a trilogy.

Reunion with Colonel synopsis:
Aisha Larosa is stained by history. Born to parents expelled from Libya after the 1969 Libyan coup d'etat, her identification between conflicting national boundaries torments her in a Europe haunted by political violence.

Aisha does the unthinkable. She returns to Tripoli in 1986, joined by a friend and armed with a pen. An agenda to rehabilitate Libya’s image has her searching for a country that no longer exists.

Aisha believes Libya is more than Muammar Gaddafi. The stains have set in deeper than she thinks; the embrace of idyllic childhood memories and a friend’s console may not be enough to keep her from entangling with the history she seeks to surmount.

Hi Jocelyn,

I'd love to have you review my YA fantasy Lake of Sins: Escape. It is the first book in the series.

Here's a short synopsis. If you're interested in reviewing, let me know and I can send you a physical copy. I understand about migraines. ):

Thanks for taking the time to write reviews.

Hundreds of years after the Great Death desolated the planet, the world was reborn. Ruled by humans and filled with human-animal hybrids the difference between life and death is determined by a creature’s purpose and usefulness to society.

For a Producer, the lowest of the classes, the only guarantee of survival is being chosen to stay in the encampment and breed. The other teenagers are loaded onto carts and taken away, never to be seen or heard from again.

Only the finest examples of Producers are chosen to breed and Trinity isn’t even a decent specimen. She’s too short, too skinny, her eyes are too light and her hair too full of color and those are the traits she doesn’t hide. She’s spent her life concealing her claws and fangs because if anyone saw those, she’d be dead.

She has one week to discover where they’ll take her and that means she needs to sneak into the woods – again. But this time she stumbles across mutated monsters and predators long thought to be extinct.

Hunted at every turn, can she make it home before her week is up? And once she discovers the horrifying fate of her kind, does she dare return to her home and save her friends and family?

Very short excerpt:
This wasn’t funny. It was her mom’s life. “You can’t keep me here against my will. I’m not your prisoner.” Trinity clamped her jaw shut. If she couldn’t control her temper, she could at least shut her mouth.
“No. You’re Mirra’s pet,” said Gaar, his black eyes narrowing in on her.
“I am not a pet,” she muttered, unable to help herself.

K.M. Mara | 8 comments Hi Jocelyn,
Would you be interested in reviewing my historical fiction adventure? Here is a description. Thanks for considering it!

PASSAGE OAK, by K.M. del Mara
As the 18th century came to an end in Europe, people of all classes were fleeing revolutions and persecution in their native countries and struggling to find a foothold on foreign soil.
Tino, a handsome Italian man follows cousins to Cornwall and manages to build a thriving business while fishermen and miners go begging for work. Patrick, an Irish smuggler who had barely escaped death at the hands of a religious gang, is lured to Cornwall by another immigrant, the greedy and enigmatic Zephaniah Cobbs. Bianca, a young French woman who goes from riches to rags, helps young Sébastien escape the French Revolution, never predicting the torment he will be put through as a virtual slave.
But being a foreigner is especially difficult for a bi-racial baby, accidentally sent to the wrong home from a London orphanage. In a community of fair-skinned Cornish girls, she would never truly belong.
Arriving one by one in a tiny, hard-pressed Cornish village, none of these newcomers find much of a welcome. How could the villagers be expected to greet them with open arms when jobs are so hard to come by, when fishermen's nets are coming up empty and more mine workers are laid off every day?
Time must be relied on to bridge some of the gaps. But the work of acceptance, it turns out, rests not only with the Cornish villagers.

It’s the middle of the twentieth century, World War II is finally over, and Claire Wagner is on the brink of an exciting new life. With a well-deserved scholarship in hand, and much to her immigrant mother’s dismay, Claire flees the Chicago tenements for a prestigious graduate school program in California. At first Claire keeps her nose tucked firmly into her books, but when her brother asks for a favor, she reluctantly agrees to a blind date. Greg turns out to be handsome, successful, and rich—and he’s definitely smitten with Claire. He introduces her to a sophisticated world she thought only existed in the movies, and before she knows it she’s trading her bobby socks and German home cooking for black silk and caviar.
When Greg starts to show signs that he’s not as perfect as he appeared, Claire’s friends urge her to overlook his occasional short temper and controlling behavior. But the warning signs pile up, building to a crisis that will test even Claire’s power to persevere. Inspired by true events and steeped in the details of the 1950s, when vulnerable women weren’t protected by the law or society, The Other Side of Him is a provocative look at how darkness can lie under the most polished exteriors.

Hi!

The Guardian Angel by Aneil Komal

Please review my young adult fantasy novella, The Guardian Angel!

Link - https://www.amazon.com/Guardian-Angel...

Sixteen-year-old Aries has always dreamed of being someone extraordinary, following in the footsteps of his hero wrestler, Angel Guerrero. But as a timid, hesitant boy with, well… an underwhelming physique, he's never thought he could chase after his dreams.

That is, until he finds himself in an alternate universe where fire-breathing dragons soar in the skies, petrifying creatures rise from the ground, and the use of magic is normal. The biggest surprise for Aries, however, comes when he learns he was once a mystical hero known as the Guardian Angel.

His mission has always been to protect this magical world and the spirits who inhabit it, but now it is being threatened by a vile, cold-blooded, sadistic demon who seeks to dominate the universe.

Now it is on Aries to rediscover his past and regain his powers, but first he'll have to overcome his crippling doubts. Can he learn to believe in himself, his friends, and the magic that surrounds him—in time to save the realm before it is destroyed?"

message 40: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Reinicke (lisareinicke) | 17 comments Hi Jocelyn! I recently released a WWII historical memoir, I wanted to see if you might be interested in reviewing?

Not your typical war story. Football flyboy delivers a birds-eye aerial view of the shaping of a young man, the creation of a family, and the domino effect on a community and society under the wing of a messy cleanup as WWII winds down. Buster, the Football Flyboy, was part of the Greatest Generation- a generation that was woven with courage and commitment; an era that wasn't filled with instant gratification or instant anything for that matter. Human relationships were held tightly with determination not to give up.
Old letters seeded Football Flyboy, letters that are a one-sided conversation of a man who loved for someone other than himself. The struggles of war and his constant change in location kept him from receiving mail regularly, causing loneliness and frustration.
Each letter, unedited, preserved to demonstrate their authenticity.
You will meet members of the family- particularly Aunt Ruby. Each chapter opens with "one of the letters" and closes with Aunt Ruby's poems- highlighting the point of the chapter or just providing the reader with a smile or a tear.
Meet Bill "Buster" Cannon, the Football Flyboy... a good man with a good life who made a difference.

I am able to provide you with a paper copy. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
~Lisa Reinicke

Annette Johnson | 9 comments Hi Jocelyn

I am Annette Johnson author of A Jazzman's Tale about Charles Freeman Lee, 1950s jazz pianist and trumpeter, who falls in love with another jazzman's wife as he tries to make it on trumpet in the bebop era of jazz.

Freeman, as he was better known, is listed in the Jazz Encyclopedia and the story is based on interviews I did with him in Paris in the 1990s. The book takes the form of a screenplay replete with jazz slang as I could not find a voice to express his tale in prose.

Visit www.ajazzmanstale.com for more information.

Is this a book you would like to review? I can send you a print copy. It is not available on kindle.
