I love this concept! I also have a interest with WW2 and I come from a family who rides dirt bikes so this book is perfect already in so many ways!

What did you think of the wold according to Ryan Graudin if Hitler and the Axis Powers won WWII?
This premise was so interesting! I really loved how it was fleshed out and how real this scenario could have been.
I found the mix of magic and science both interesting and odd (in a good way). What did you think of it?
I loved the sci-fi aspect of the book! Sci-Fi and Fantasy are my favourite genres so I really liked how Ryan incorporated this into the book :) I mean, it was kind of realistic how these experiments evolved into what they did! The skin shifting was really cool, and I like how it brought in the theme of identity and being true to who you are. Also, I liked the ending and how that turned out..
If you could be one of the characters in the book, who would you choose and why?
I really don't know who I would be in this book. Probably just Yael cause she is super awesome, but at the same time, I wouldn't want to be tasked with killing HItler, that is a lot of pressure.
How did you like the book overall?
I really loved this book! 5/5 stars :) The atmosphere of the book was great and the concept was really unique and it was executed really well! The ending chapters had my heart pounding and THAT ENDING! I cannot wait for the next book! and to see how this unfolds and what is going to happen next :D
Thanks for the great book pick! :D

I'm so glad you loved this one! Waiting for book 2 is going to be torture....

I thought Graudin's perspective was interesting and I enjoyed the glimpse into what the world could have been. She presented the same information that we have seen in many alternate history stories, but her approach was unique and captivating. I love alternate histories though, so I am biased on this question.

I was excited to find out that this book was not just an alternate history book. It was not just an action book. It was not just a fantasy book. Graudin's ability to seamlessly integrate all of these items into a cohesive product rocketed this piece to the top of my 2015 favorites list.
- If you could be one of the characters in the book, who would you choose and why?
I wouldn't want to necessarily BE any of the characters, but I wrote in my original review that I wanted to be friends with Yael. And I maintain that position. She would definitely be my bestie and we would kick booty together.
- How did you like the book overall?
I LOVED this book. Devoured it and I cannot wait for the next book! Five stars and I wish I could give more...

- I thought Graudin set up a very realistic alternate universe. It was intriguing how she explored both the world where Hitler and the Axis Powers won WWII, and the experiments taking place at the time.
I found the mix of magic and science both interesting and odd (in a good way). What did you think of it?
- Both the fantasy and sci-fi elements of this story just made it so much more interesting to me! I love how Graudin found a way to shed light on how we see ourselves and the people around us based on our looks by giving Yael the skin shifting trait. AND - it just made that mind blowing twist at the end so much more exciting for the future of this series!
If you could be one of the characters in the book, who would you choose and why?
- I don't think that I would be anyone in the book, but I would definitely be friends with Yael because she is awesome.
How did you like the book overall?
- I LOVED this book. I'm so happy that this was my first read for the new year! It was such a unique story, and it was cool to read it because it was unlike anything I've ever read before. I can't wait for the sequel because I honestly don't know where this series is going after that ending.. I'm also curious to see how the other characters react to finding out it wasn't really Adele Wolfe the whole time.

The world that Ryan Graudin created was amazing and how she opened up the possibilities and what if's of WWII. On top of that the experiments done on so many and reminding us of the cruelty but using it to open up her world. I found myself eager to keep reading.
I absolutely loved the use of magic and science, it just blew my mind! Yael is my hero!
In all honesty as amazing as this novel is I would want to be any of the characters because it was a tough time to live in. But like many of the other readers above mentioned I would want to be Yael's friend.
This book was beyond from what I expected and I loved and enjoyed every minute of it. I even found my heart racing fast a few times from how invested I was getting into this book.
Per usual, I'll ask questions here, but please feel free to comment and ask your own questions as well!
