Parker tends to be your typical jock. He's athletic, taking interest in football and baseball. He's a big guy on campus along with his brother but unlike his brother, he's more sociable and charming. The typical prince charming girls dream about that sweep you off your feet. Maybe a little too much of a flirt but he think's it's pretty fun to do, no harm, right? Everyone in school knows who he is, and he gets along with pretty much everyone. Pretty friendly, good at athletics, but when it comes to academics he's pretty average. Sometimes a little under, he struggles a bit but he's a hard worker. Parker tends to be pretty much laid back though, and easy going. One of his problems is getting himself into gear when it doesn't involve sports. But he's a loyal guy and dependable when it comes to his friends, definitely someone you want to be there for you.![]()
"If anything, we shouldn't even be helping. We should be standing around and looking pretty, while you boys do the rest," Rosalie Grayson teased, smirking at Tamar's wink. Most people thought of her best friend to be a good girl, they didn't see the wicked side of her that she just loved. Which was why spending the summer with her was going to be particularly fun. What wasn't fun was the fact that they had to move all of her stuff to Tamar's house. She could always just run over to her house and grab her stuff, but that would take to much time. It would just make sense to move everything at once. Not that she or the others liked it. As a girl she had to have all her essentials, but it seemed like they had chosen the hottest day in Lake Haven to move her into Tamar's place. Even dressed as she was, a halter top that showed off her belly button piercing with a pair of high waisted shorts and her hair pulled into a ponytail, she could feel the heat get to her. It was insane, of course it would have been much worse if she hadn't tricked everyone into getting the heaviest boxes, but that was her little secret. Turning slightly to check on the boys, she caught Wesley checking out her best friend and rolled her eyes. "I know I'm pretty hot Wes, but be respectful and at least check me out when Tam isn't here,"She teased, winking at him.
Rose was more than happy when she finally put the box down in Tam's room and made herself comfortable on the bed. Closing her eyes as her hair fanned out on the pillow, enjoying the cool A.C. blowing air onto her heated skin. The blonde groaned as the bed dipped in someone else's weight. "Get off the bed, you fatty," She grumbled, trying to push Parker off feebly, who chuckled at her attempt. "Boys and their useless muscles," She mumbled before sitting up, scoffing at the loud kiss. "Yes, yes," She stuck her nose up, waving her hand at Wes. "My servants are dismissed, all of my items are safely in my new chambers."

In all honesty, Parker Lockwood had no problem helping out the girls move the boxes up the stairs. The boxes weren't in the least heavy, thank god for football practice, and the heat wasn't as bad for him. When you have to practice in the heat in full football gear, moving a couple of boxes wasn't too bad. So while everyone was in danger of a heat stroke and covered in sweat, he was perfectly fine. More than just fine, the view was perfectly nice if he does say so himself. At the top of the stairs was Tamar, looking good in her small shorts and tank, he couldn't help but take a few moments to look her over, eyes resting on her ass for another moment, before moving over to the blonde. He felt better looking over at Rose, for one, she wasn't dating his brother, and for two, he didn't have any romantic feelings for her. Still, she was pretty nice to look at with her long legs, curves, and long blonde hair. Admittedly, he had more than a friendship with Rose, not that the other two in their group knew, but it was always a physical thing and never an emotional one. So as he reached the top of the stairs and Tam's room, he had no reservations about climbing over Rose and resting his head on her stomach. He chuckled as she pushed his head, trying to push his entire body off the bed but to no avail.
"Can you two not? There is two other people in the room that don't want to hear you guys. Get a room," Taking a free pillow, Parker launched it at them, laughing as it hit Wes in the head. Despite actually liking Tam, he had gotten pretty good at hiding it. He figured that the other three had no idea. Come to think of it, he was pretty good at keeping secrets. Who would anyone to know his dirty secret? Wesley might be his half brother but they were really close an he didn't want to ruin their relationship. For as long as he could he remember Wes had always been around, being protective over him until he could take care of himself, even if his brother would prefer to live with his mother rather than with them. "So," He propped himself up on one elbow,"Who's ready for the party tonight? I know I am, high school is gone and I'm more than ready for college." While not as smart as Wes, Parker was great at sports and had earned a scholarship to a University for football.
"The Grand Lady," Rosalie winked at Tamar, playing on the nickname she had given her. "Believes that this is her room as well, at least for the summer it is." She gave her best friend a mischievous smile. The two were bound for two different universities, but they weren't too far from one another, thankfully. Yet it still wouldn't be the same. They hung out almost everyday but when college started, they would be busy with a lot of other things. Her face scrunched up at Tam's suggestion, pretending to be disgusted at the thought. A small gasp escaped her as a sneaky arm went around her waist and pulled her close. "You were never disgusted whenever we decided to do the hanky panky," Parker muttered in her ear, gaining a laugh from the blonde as she tried to shake him off. "You know Wes, I remembered you used to be a lot nicer and quieter when we first met. Back when you needed my stamp of approval to date my best friend. I think we may have corrupted you," She smirked at him. "From bookworm to corrupted bookworm, what an evolution,"She teased him with a wink. "Don't get into too much trouble now that we have corrupted you, or we'll be forced to put you on a time out." Teasing Wesley was definitely one of her favorite things to do, his reactions to everything was just plain interesting.After finally getting out of Parker's grip, Rose smiled at Tam, brushing back a few stray hairs behind her ear. "The cat eye from graduation?" She laughed at the mental image, Tam wasn't so bad with makeup but she always had trouble making the precise lines with the wings for the different types of eyeliner styles. She could only imagine how it must have looked. "As cute as nice boys like you are Wesley, we need guys like Parker to know when we look good or when we actually look bad. But I'll help you out tonight,"Shifting her gaze from Wes then Tamar. "What would you do without me?" She sighed dramatically. "I'm down to two outfits. I'm not sure whether I should take the light beige dress, the short sexy one, or pair up my black tube top with my dark beige skirt. They both look good. Oh the troubles of being beautiful!"
~~~
Parker couldn't help but laugh at Rose and Wes's antics. He felt a little bad for Wesley, knowing that the blonde of the group always liked to tease him more than the others. From the three his brother was the most quiet and less social. It wasn't that Wes was anti-social, they were just all people persons. He rolled his eyes at their passionate kiss, hiding the slight disappointment he felt whenever he felt when they showed affection for one another. It made him feel guilty. When they first got together, he had been a little afraid that his brother would notice how he was really feeling. Thankfully he never did. But it was also one of the reasons that he was eager to get away from high school and their hometown and go off to college. For obvious reasons he would never admit it to Wes, but when they both were applying to colleges, he applied not only to schools that his brother did, as they agreed, but to schools that had expressed an interest in him for playing either football or baseball. Parker's hand shot out, keeping the pillow from hitting him in the chest, chuckling. Wes had pretty good aim and he had no desire to let a pillow hit him, no matter how soft. "Little brother?" He rolled his eyes,"You're barley older than me! You would think you're three years older or something."
"Stop being such an old man Wes. This is going to be out last party with the rest of the people we have gone to school with for practically twelve years now. After tonight you probably won't have to deal with them anymore." Parker sighed, Wes's relationship with their father had always been strained, to the point that everyone notices that he calls him Evan. Their father wasn't a good one, but he tried to be, sometimes anyways and he would prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt if anything. Oblivious to Wesley's feelings about him going off on his own next year, he shrugged. "Wes you haven't really needed to look after me in years. Did you really think that we were going to go to the same University? It's time to venture out and meet new people. Watch, after school starts, give a few weeks, you won't even remember all about your brother." He smiled at him goodnaturedly,"Besides we have interests in different things. You prefer academics and I like athletics."
"The Grand Lady does not concern herself with such details," Rosalie waved off Tamar's words, looking like a real high class Queen, otherwise a snob. It was a look she pulled off well, considering she used to be a pageant girl. Big shocker, she knows. Not many people know except for her parents and Tamar. When she was younger her mom always has a fascination with dressing her up like a doll. Besides they had money, maybe not as much as the Lockwoods, but everyone in Lake Haven had some kind of money. Either way, she'd been in pageants since she was old enough to walk on her own and she was good at it. Title holder but when puberty started, she started rebelling. No longer the complacent little girl that let stylists prod at her face and hair but a preteen who was more interested in dancing than competing. You would think her mom would like her dancing but she wasn't into ballet or lyrical, but hip hop and rock. But with all the trouble she got into, her mother was more than happy with her dancing if she kept in line. She's been a dancer ever since. From pretty pink to hard grunge. Needless to say, Rose made sure no one had to know of her past activities. "If anyone knows sarcasm, it's me Wes and I could sniff it out. You were a nice little boy before Tam got her claws into you."
Seeing the two different outfits, Rose got up from the bed, stepping over Wes's legs, muttering under her breath about the Lockwood boys long legs before reaching Tam and eyeing her choice. "Cute, but I'm going to have to chose the crop top with the maxi skirt." Shaking her head, making her ponytail bounce, she moved over to the boxes and rummaged through them. "If I used a ruler on you Tam, I think you would notice. As for you," She narrowed her gaze at Wesley,"Thank god I'm not as heavy as you. How would I be able to look cute if I was? Either way I have my ways on getting you on timeout. As for your next question, you are too nice. Parker is oblivious and isn't to good with handling girls fashion questions. As in he's honest." Her attention was pulled away as she found the dress, showing it proudly to Tamar. "I got it at the small boutique, the one with the nice dressing room." Obviously both girls were holding nothing back, they had to let the school know that they were the best.
---
Without hesitation Parker flipped off Wesley, his gaze catching Rose's gaze for a second. The reason they kept their physical relationship a secret from the other two was because they didn't want anyone else involved. He had a feeling they would try to push them together and it wasn't anything like that. Sometimes you just needed release and they found that in each other. It wasn't anything serious and had only been a few times. It worked for them and involving others would just make it complicated. Rose was hot but she wasn't the one he wanted. She wasn't Tamar. And that made him feel worse than anything. Wesley was the best brother he could ask for and here he was lusting after his girlfriend. But after the summer it would all be over and he could look at the brunette as just a friend. Parker scoffed,"Kid? Is that the best you can do? You only insult yourself Wes. If I'm a kid, then you're the preteen and we both know how awkward that phase was." Parker was sure that's when the anger for their father really come into Wes, but he would never mention that. Wes wasn't just his brother but his best friend and they trusted each other with almost everything and he wouldn't betray that trust or their bond. He chuckled as his brother managed to hit Tamar on the shoulder. His brother always got a puppy look to him whenever he was scolded by his girl. "Ooo you're in trouble now! Flick the whip Tam!" He mocked, using the kid insult to his advantage. Wes would always hold a few measly months over his head, he wouldn't doubt it.
He scowled, moving his leg after being hit. "You know I remember this conversation being between you and blonde, bro. Why am I the one being injured?" He complained, watching as the girls rummaged through their clothes. "Thank god I'm a guy. I would get exhausted from planning what I'm going to wear," He rolled his eyes, sharing a look with Wes. "But I'll have you know Rose, I'm good with the ladies," He grinned cheekily. "That's only because they don't know you as well as we do," She quipped as he feigned hurt. "You really do know how to grab a guy by the balls." He commented dryly. Getting up, he took one look at Wes watching Tamar before launching himself off the bed and into his brother with a loud thump. "Not so quite when I do it, is it?" He commented, settling his full weight in him. Wesley liked to talk big about kicking his ass, but he would like to differ. His muscles weren't just for show and attracting the girls. "Being drunk isn't the worst way for a friendship. Besides I think I know when I've had enough. I really don't need you looking after me. I'll be better than okay on my own, you'll see," He flashed him a smile before looking at Tamar. "Hey Tan, if I hold your boyfriend hostage, will you get me some lemonade?"
Rosalie raised an eyebrow at Tamar's words, merely smirking before turning back to her own outfit choices, keeping an ear and an eye out for the rest of her friends. She liked to think of herself as the Queen Bee of the school, she was popular enough, but whether it was true or not, she prided herself in her appearance. If her mother and her time at the pageants taught her anything, it was the appearances matters. And she didn't care what anyone else said, people do judge books by the cover. How else would you judge others? The first thing you see if how they appear. It's utter bullshit of how people try to deny otherwise. Those were the kind of people who tried to make themselves out to be better than they actually were and she had no problem with turning her into nose up at them and putting them in their place. Personally, she was tired of people acting like they were so selfless and nice, when truly, they were only putting on a facade. Sure, she could be a bitch, but at least she knew that's what she was and wasn't trying to be someone she wasn't. "Right again boys," Her lips twisted up into a half smile as she looked up at them briefly,"From all of you, Tam has the best shot of me listening to her. Not that it means much anyways. If anything, after being friends for so long, she's probably gotten used to me and let me do as I please," She stuck her tongue out at them. Her original point being, she had to dress for perfection for this last high school party. Then she would leave the boys behind for college men.
Stepping over the boys, Rose laid her dress down on the bed, smoothing out the wrinkles before turning back towards the brothers with hands on her hips. "After you boys get your lemonade, don't you guys have something to do? Like get ready for the party? And if you don't, well, here's the nicest way I can say this, you two need to go. Unless you two want to get in our way and should I remind you how that turned out last time?" The blonde tended to tune down her bitchiness, considering the fact that they were good friends, but when it came time to get ready, you never mess with a girl. Picking out the main part of the outfit was the easiest part, it was the smaller details; shoes, accessories, hair, etc; that was the hardest part. Boys would simply never understand that. They liked the finished piece, never the time and work that had been put behind it. Fair enough to say that she didn't believe much in romantic notions. No, she believed in the physical nature, the carnal pleasure of lust. Call her jaded, but from what she's seen, it's the truth.
~~~
Parker rolled his eyes, no one would guess, especially not his brother, about his little secret meetings with Rose. Even so, he did know that he had sparked something because he didn't brush it off. He was a certified playboy in school, known to charm the pants off of any girl with his panty dropping smile. It was well known and he never promised more than he wanted. It was easy with no commitment. Of course, sometimes you would get your crazies that would think that you wanted more. Like Mindy Lassiter. "Mindy Lassiter doesn't talk to me because she's insane. We hung out for one night at a party," And maybe slept with each other. Everyone in the room knew that by the way Rosalie snorted, but he wasn't going to say it. He might be a playboy but he never kissed and told. Ever with the less than sane ones. "And suddenly she thinks we're meant to be. I tried to let her down gently, even though I had told her we were friends and she was fine with that until the next day." He shrugged, what could he do? Sure, he felt bad for the girl but he wasn't going to date her because of that. Some people might think he was an ass for being a player but he couldn't give someone hope when he knew his heart just simply wasn't in it. It wouldn't be fair for him or her, and honestly he just wasn't that selfless. For the most part he liked to think of himself as a nice guy, and so did the others, the ones who didn't think him being with a couple of girls made him an ass, but he was human and he fucked up, granted. That's where having Wesley around really counted. Apart from Rose, there's only been two other girls he'd slept with in high school, but there have been others he'd flirted with. Some of those girls apparently had brothers that didn't apperciate it. And by some, he meant Mindy. He could take Mindy's brother no problem but it was nice knowing Wes had his back and could always smooth away the problems peacefully.
"Wesley! Lay down and submit to your superior. I need a good chair, not-" He stoped half way, interrupted with a huff when he was elbowed harshly. He glared down at his brother, this time being the one who snorted. "I believe the correct phrase is 'we don't negotiate with terrorists.' Aren't you supposed to be book smart? I'm athletic and street smart," He bragged, flexing his muscles before slowing getting off of his brother, dragging his weight on him for a few more moments before standing up. Before either of them could do much after that, Rosalie was bossing them around again. He was ready to say something smart but her words made him share an uneasy glance with Wesley. The girls were not happy with their wrestling and talking last time. Apparently there's a ritual and all that junk with getting ready. "Don't know about you bro, but I'll be leaving about now. Rather go play video games than get harassed by the girls."
The minute the boys left, the girls were all about getting ready. Tamar's room was turned into a dressing room as shoes, accessories, make-up, and hair products were thrown around. Rosalie was always reminded of the beauty pageants at these times. The smell of hairspray, trying on different things before the big show. The only thing missing was the smell of desperation and the yelling, both from the contestants and their mothers (as well as the occasional dad). Pageants were intense and all the girls were out for blood when it came to taking home the crown. In any case it was a lot more fun getting ready with her best friend and for something that she actually wanted to go to. Actually that was debatable. No one really wanted to go to the class president's house but who ever said no to free booze? And it was the last party before college. The only reason Marla, the president, was throwing it, was because it was a tradition. Rose was still pretty sure that she had rigged the voting because who in their right mind would actually vote for her? Marla was a manipulative bitch and she was more than happy to upstage her, as always, along with Tam. Hours later, she was giving herself another look in the mirror, admiring the beach waves that looked almost effortless, before the regular honking started. She rolled her eyes, sharing a look with Tamar, as if thinking 'Parker.' The boy might be smooth when he wanted to but apparently that didn't extend to them. She grabbed her heels, walking down the stairs lazily as she heard Wes and Tam having a moment. Gagging silently, she slipped on her heels before going out to the car.
Arriving at the party, she was already being greeted by various people. Rose wasted no time in integrating herself in the crowd. Accepting a drink from someone or other before she was dancing. She was always dancing, either with her friends, some guys, Tamar, and even Parker. She got a couple of drinks before dances and would talk to others the further along the party went. However, it was starting to become obvious that Tam was getting irritated. From the corner of her eye she watched her go to Wes a few different times but always came back alone. She frowned, why was Wesley being such a party pooper? He had seemed fine earlier but she guessed that he really didn't want to come tonight. It wasn't really her place to say anything but as time passed if was obvious the couple only grew more and more upset with each other or the situation. After dancing a few more times she made her way over to Wes who was talking to his friends who seemed uneasy. "Mirror mirror on the wall, who's being the biggest bore of them all?" Rosalie smiled as she made her presence known from behind him, before taking a seat next to him. "Hello boys," She greeted his friends. She was familiar with them because of Wes but otherwise they didn't run in the same circles.
---
Parker was happy to get away from the girls. He didn't need them making him their slave. He was a lot more content with going home and playing some video games with Wesley. On their way back, his brother drove them home and he was checking his phone, smiling at the text his mom sent. It was a picture of her sipping a margarita by the hotel pool. If he looked close enough, his dad was in the background. He could be a bit of a mama's boy but his mom had always coddled him, more than enough to make up for his dad's pressure in just about everything. For the most part he got along well with his dad but he could tell he took it out on him when Wesley rejected his advances. He knew his brother was always angry about their dad getting custody of him, but sometimes he wished he would be a bit easier on him, so their dad wouldn't put as much pressure to be the perfect son on him. The thought was selfish because lord knows how he would have reacted if he had been taken away from his mom but he couldn't help it. Sometimes he wondered if his brother hated his mom because their dad left his mom for Parker's. He always had the urge to ask him but truth was, he was afraid of finding out his answer. How would anyone be able to handle knowing the two people you cared about the most might hate each other, or in this case, one might hate the other? His mom cared about Wes but his brother had always been his own mothers don, loyal to her. And he didn't blame him but it did leave him wondering. Then there was dad, another big can of worms he didn't want to get to much into depth with. Sometimes he tried to be a good dad and sometimes he couldn't be bothered. One of the reasons his parents might get divorced. Silently he knew his mom could do better. She was still young and he liked to think beautiful. Most of all, he didn't think she needed his dad's shit. But as loud spoken as he was, when it came to his family, he always kept quiet. Another reason he envied his brother who was able to show how he felt easily and could probably talk to Tamar about his problems. He could talk to Wes about many things, but this wasn't one of them. Either way, as they pulled up to their house, he pushed the thoughts away again. He didn't want to be in a mood before a party. It's a bad way to start off the summer and without his parents home, it would definitely be a summer to remember.
About twenty minutes before they were set to pick up the girls, Parker stopped playing video games and went off to get ready. He didn't understand why girls needed hours, it was insane. He just through on some jeans, a t shirt, a leather jacket, and some cologne and he was good to go. A while later at the party, he was enjoying himself. He had danced with s couple of girls but mostly was joking around with his footballs friends with a drink in his hand. But as the time went by and he looked over at Wes, he just needed one glance to know his older brother was not having fun. From the two, he was the party boy, always making people laugh and have a great time. Wes was a bit more introverted and didn't have the same taste for parties. But before he could approach he noticed Tamar slipping out of the house and decided to follow as he saw Rosalie go up to his brother and his friends. He followed Tam out quietly, watching her for a few moments before she spoke up. "Of course. A beautiful girl is wasting her time outside because her boyfriend is being moody," He teased, smiling as he moved next to her. "How are you doing?" He asked. From what he knows, the two don't really get into arguments so this one was really unexpected to him.
((Okay, sounds good!))
Parker chuckled softly, smiling softly at her. He couldn't help but inwardly think that she shouldn't be smiling so fake, and not to him either. He might not be her boyfriend nor her best friend, but he thought they were close enough that she didn't have to hide how she was feeling. He supposed she thought they weren't and he tried to convince himself it was fine. Tamar didn't seem to notice a lot of things when he was involved and he knew why. She was with his brother and her attention tended to be split between Wesley and Rosalie. It just wasn't in his favor but it gave him privy to watch her sometimes. To notice when she was happy or in this case, upset. And he should be able to tell the difference, considering the fact that he had liked her for years, even before Wes had noticed her. Except his big brother had beat him to the punch, not in just asking her out, but in telling him that he liked her. Parker might not seem like it, but he could be a fairly private person, and it cost him when Wes admitted he liked Tam and after that he had kept his own mouth shut about his feelings. "I think you may be right. Maybe then I wouldn't be slapped by a girl every few moments," He joked. He's been slapped once by Mindy but he was thoroughly convinced that she was really crazy. "You can talk to me," He told her softly, letting her talk about how she felt about the entire thing. "What kind of man would I be if I left you out here by yourself? I don't mind waiting. You may be Wes's girlfriend Tamar, but you're also my friend," He smiled at her, giving her a one armed hug to let her know he was there for her. It was awkward, the position he was put in, not just at the moment, but the entire time. His loyalty to his brother and the feelings he has for Tam, now that they were arguing, it was a little more emphasized. But in the end he would side with Wes.
Even so, he didn't leave her the entire time and he saw no harm in that. He just wanted her to know she had someone if she wanted to talk, even though her go to choice would more often that not be Rosalie. He let his mind drift in the next few minutes, watching the beach and how peaceful it seemed. The moment was broken when he was drawn into a friendly hug. His head snapped in the direction of the door, watching Marla warily. She was tromping in the right direction, even if she didn't know it and was just being snobby. Parker took a step back from the heated words the girls were exchanging. He would be more than happy to say something but he didn't feel right for the fact she was a girl. He was a gentlemen and he had his mom to blame for that. What he couldn't help is chuckling under his breath at trotting off, the way she was walking and the dragging of the click clacking of her heels reminded him of a horse. "I think we should go in now before she tells everyone that we have run away together to Los Vegas to get married because you're carrying my twins,"He teased her, giving her one more squeeze before they headed back inside. It was just a joke, however, the entire school knew that Tam and his brother were the high school's sweethearts and how close he was too Wes.
~~~
Rosalie couldn't help but smile prettily at Declan when he stuttered his greeting to her. She couldn't help it, the flirting came naturally to her and she was never one to back away from it. "I promise I don't bite- too much and when I do, most guys enjoy it," She winked at him. "No need to be shy Declan." The blond has just crossed her legs as she sat down next to Wes when Jonah left and got up and went after Stephanie. Cute. At Wes's questions, she took a few moments to answer, allowing Dec to make an excuse and leave them be. "He's cute," She commented before apparently they went back on Wes's relationship issues with Tam and whatever reason he thought she had come for. As he finished, she watched him calmly before taking a sip of her drink and let him sweat it out for a bit. "Are you done?" She asked but before he could answer, she continued. "You should watch what you saw Wes, you could really hurt a girls feeling if she wasn't as heartless as me. Give me a moment." She excused herself to the kitchen before coming back with two shot glasses and a bottle of vodka pretty quickly. Knowing Wesley he would probably try to hide if she took too long. She put down a glass in front of him and one in front of her with the bottle between them. "Somehow I feel like we'll need this so whoever needs a drink will pour for the both of us and we'll both drink." She was perfectly aware of the people staring at them, most because she was sexy and others because they were nosy but it took one glare their way and suddenly they were all busy again. "And just so you know, I wasn't sent by anyone and especially not Tamar. She hasn't told me you two are arguing but anyone with two eyes who know where to look could tell that you're blowing her off." Rose leveled him with a look, why where boys so dumb? "I hate to break it to you but if you're feeling guilty it's because you know you are at least partially in the wrong. I didn't come over to lecture you because frankly it isn't any of my business. It isn't my relationship and unless you make Tam cry, I make it point not to get involved. I came over because you looked miserable and bored. Just because you're dating Tam and I'm her best friend, doesn't mean we aren't friends. Or at least I thought we were. We might have vastly different personalities and I might be a bitch, but I don't like seeing my friends being upset Wes. So the answer to your assumption is no, I did not come over to make you feel guilty nor did Tam sent me. Did I know something was wrong? Yes. Was I going to say anything? No. Did I want to cheer you up? Yes."
Rose raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow in his direction. Friends or not she didn't take any shit from anyone and he had irritated her a bit. She hated when people assumed things and then he had the audacity to wave her off to, in his words, her 'fans.' "And for your information they are not fans. I prefer to call them my peasants," She lightened up with a half smile. But that's who she was. She didn't take things to heart, lord knows that would mean every little thing would bother her. Aside from being a bad ass, she was a playful person who liked to tease and flirt, but ultimately she enjoyed, enjoying herself. Wes was more uptight and in her mind, needed to loosen up. "Word of advice though Wesley, don't do things you don't want to. Trust me, you'll be a lot happier that way. It sounds like you have some things you want to get out the way but I'm not your girlfriend and you should be saying that to Tam. We both know I'm not a relationship expert but being miserable isn't going to make things easier. You'll only be more pathetic and bored. At least try to enjoy yourself," From the corner of her eye she noticed Marla with her flashy dress and then a few moments later, Parker and Tam come back in. She hadn't even seen Parker go after Tam but the boy was sweet, hopefully he made Tam feel better.
(It was fantastic!)
"I'm not going to deny that I'm arrogant but most of my ego can be justified by my good lucks, charm, and natural talent," Parker bragged, giving her a full smile that showed off his pearly whites. "But didn't you know, my baby mama? My mom's side of the family is known to having twins," He told her smugly. "But I was too amazing to have a twin so it obviously skipped me,"He teased her,"Because we all know more than one of me would blow all your non amazing people apart." His comments were obviously mockingly arrogant, cheesy, and perhaps a bit condescending but it was all in good fun because that's the type of guy he was. Besides people claiming he was such a player, he was actually a good guy who had no desire to hurt anyone, especially those that he cared about. If you were looking for a guy to really get serious right off the bat, you were talking to the wrong brother, that was Wes's subject of expertise. Usually he tried to cheer people up with humor and smiled, if that didn't work, he didn't mind taking a page out of Wesley's handbook and getting serious, but it usually wasn't his style. So as he teased her, he wasn't trying to be condescending or a smartass, but a good friend that would help her forget the problems she was currently having with his brother. Wrapping his arms around her one last time and returning her hug with a soft squeeze, he let her go only to softly bump her shoulder. "No need to thank me Tam, I know you would be out here with me too if our situations were reversed. But we are at a party, so cheer up, get your pretty little smile on, and enjoy yourself." Parker led her back inside and for the most part it seemed that no one had noticed their absence. Even so he stayed by Tamar's side, making sure everything was fine. It looked like she was enjoying herself, even watching his brothers weird friends, when it all went to shit. Literally. Her face went from cheery to angry in a matter of seconds and he could only watch as she stomped her way over to is brother and coincidentally, Rose who seemed to be watching Tam with the same surprised look.
Parker had never seen Wesley and Tamar argue. Ever. Which was why he could only watch stun as they both seemed to let out their stress and anger which they had bottled up throughout the party. He wasn't the only one who was watching them either, it seemed like everyone has stopped what they were doing and watching the once high school sweethearts come to audible blows. He could only imagine that this would the last piece of gossip the now graduated class of 2015 would trade but he figured that despite it all, they would make up because that's who they were. They loved each other. But Parker had no idea that he would be more than wrong and would soon enough be wishing that he had been right. The argument in itself wasn't very long or as revealing as some of their classmates had gotten into but with it involving people he was close to, it seemed longer than it really was. His green eyes watched Tam leave, knowing he would feel guilty if he followed her out and headed toward's his brother. Before he could comfort him, his gaze met with Rose's and she gave him a subtle shake of her head before, motioning towards the door that Tam had left through. Even without words he got the message and headed out after her. The last thing he saw before leaving the party was Rosalie saying something to his brother before he disappeared through the doors as well in an effort to find Tamar. It seemed his cheering up only moments before had quickly been ruined.
"What did I do?" Rosalie asked innocently, her flirtatious eyes revealing she knew exactly what she had done. "I was just being nice," She batted her eyelashes at him, laughing softly. "How was I supposed to know that he was going to get all shy? Besides, technically, I didn't do anything wrong. If I didn't know any better I would think he's nervous around me," Despite the innocent display she offered, the small smirk on her lips said otherwise. Rose wasn't Queen Bee for any reason. She knew how to read people like the back of her hand and Wes's cute friend was no different. The blonde shrugged off his apology, he really hadn't bothered her. Lord knows she would be insecure if his soft little words had hurt her feelings, with the rumors some of her now ex classmates would say about her. It was to be expected, whoever said being beautiful was easy, obviously hadn't been beautiful in high school with spiteful girls and horny boys. "If you pissed me off more often Wes then you wouldn't be worried about a drink because I would be burying a body," She raised an eyebrow at him, a smile twitching on her lips. Taking her now full shot glass, she raised it up to him for a second, smiling at the clink of their glasses, before she downed the shot. It went down smoothly, unlike her drinking partners at the moment, and laughter bubbled up from her throat. "It's vodka Wes. We can't all afford the vodka your family probably has," She teased. "Oh come on, bugger off Wes. I said don't worry about it," The English slang rolling off her tongue, showing off her English blood, from her mother's side and the infinity she had grown for it for the couple of times she's visited. "Hey, I never said you were completely boring," The blonde smiled, matching his third shot as they drank. "Wes! Don't you talk about my hair and pretty head," She jabbed him with her finger. Tam might have started the Grand Lady title as a joke but she knew it stemmed from her past of the pageants and what remained from it. A couple of things stayed, like her ability to seemingly command a room to focus on her, and the walk that said she owned the ground she strutted on. Rose never said she didn't act high and mighty, it was who she was. A girl who aimed high and never settled and if that got her labeled as a superficial bitch, well, they would all learn she would have the final laugh. "Tam's my best friend Wes but I don't like lying through my teeth. I won't go as far as to say I'm honest but I'm blunt as hell and that's how I feel. Take the advice or leave it, it's really up to you." After a while it seemed that all the teasing and jokes and the vodka seemed to pay off because Rose started to see a hard won smile on Wes's face and that in itself made her smile in return. The older Lockwood brother was known for being more serious than his younger brother but it took the right person to bring out that little wild side, and she was the right person to do just that.
As time went on the teasing and the banter kept coming and somewhere along the line, a joke was told. At this point Rose wasn't sure who had started telling it, especially when she got slightly distracted by a cute dress. By the time she had decided that her dress looked a lot better on her either way, Tamar had swooped in like a hawk onto Wesley. The argument was sudden and out of nowhere, catching Rosalie off guard. Without even trying to, Rose had managed to get caught up in the argument even when she hadn't spoken. She felt a small flush of irritation, anger, and guilt hit her. The blonde didn't appreciate Tam making out her spending time with Wes as if they were having some kind of passionate affair behind her back. She knew it wasn't her intentions to do so but her words and Wesley throwing out her names had everyone murmuring about some kind of drama between the three. The guilt came from actually having something to do with the argument, but just like that it was over and Tam was stomping away. She wanted to go after her but she didn't think her best friend would be happy with her at the moment. Everyone would probably be fine tomorrow but she would be giving her space, which is why she signalled Parker to follow her. "Wes.." She spoke his name softly, watching him sit back down and placed a comforting hand on his thigh. "I'm sorry Wes. I didn't mean to make things worse but let's be honest. You two will talk it out soon. Don't be so hard on yourself,"She gave his thigh a soft squeeze, trying to comfort the boy.
Parker was glad that everyone still seemed stunned by the fight because no one tried to stop him to hang out and tell jokes, swap stories or have a drink with them. He was popular at school, pretty much made solid because of his lady swooning smile, good looks, and his place on the football team. As a child he had been somewhat timid, always having Wesley close to him. He hadn't really needed a playmate when younger because he had his brother and his dad always thought most of the others were beneath them so no play dates were really made. All he knew was Wes, so when he started school it was overwhelming but big brother Wes had always protected him. Believe it or not if it hadn't been for Wesley he would have been bullied. His preschool teacher insisted that he play and interact with the other kids, enough that she had talked with his mom and gotten her permission to take him from Wes and pair him with another kid within the first week. He had the choice to pick someone and being as soft spoken as he was then, he went along with it and took the day to find someone. Even back then he remembered seeing a chubby Tamar with a still brunette Rosalie. Rose has reminded him of a pretty doll and Tam was known to share her cookies with everyone, a sweet girl. He moved onto a couple of different people until he stopped on some girl finger painting because his mom liked to paint. The next day the teacher made him hang out with her. It was fun, despite the fact that he would rather be with his brother, but before recess could end, some kids had come up to him. Big boned boys who made fun of him for playing with a girl. He has taken it all in silence but when they trampled all over the painting he made his mom, he started to cry and wail. Wesley had come out of no where and pushed them back. His brother has defended him, even if it meant he got in trouble when they called his mom because their dad was busy. He had broken down to his mom, crying and sobbing that it had been all his fault. Park had no idea that she has never intended to punish them, she bought them ice cream and took them home. No one ever tried to separate them again after that.
No one, but Parker himself. When they started middle school, they were known to always be together. They were Wes and Parker and never separate, a package deal. But despite always being with one another, he didn't feel like he entirely belonged. Unlike him, Wes had made friends since pre school and be just stuck along with his brother. The bothersome quiet one. He tried a whole lot of different things but nothing worked out. Until his dad took him on a business trip and he told him what he was feeling. His dad responded with showing him what he was good at: football. Surprisingly, he was good at it too and by the next year he was part of the team at school and had his own group. Parker had really branched out. Stopped hanging out with Wes all the time. When high school came he had class with Tamar, lab partners and by association met the popular, now blonde, Rose. And the rest, they say, is history. Back then no one would have tried to stop him, but now everyone would. The people drinking outside tried to call him but he kept walking, looking for Tam. Up ahead he saw a vague figure, stomping almost and he couldn't help but almost know that it was her. He picked up his pace, jogging up behind her quietly before clamping a hand firmly on her shoulder. "Damn, for such a small girl you move pretty quickly."
Rosalie sighed, she knew that face. A depressed, bitter boy was no fun. Especially one that was the boyfriend of her best friend. They would get over this, they always do, and if she said the wrong thing Tam would no doubt tell her accompanied by a scolding. The thought already made her want to roll her eyes. "Wesley, how many people do you think talk about me? Too many to count." She looked around the room, looking at their now old classmates. "The girls are jealous of me and want to be friends with me. Until the guy they like or their boyfriend talks to me then I'm a slut who puts out in the bathroom. For the guys I'm hot, right? A tease, a flirt, a challenge they want to fuck. Until I turn them down and then I'm a frigid bitch." Rose raised a perfect blonde eyebrow, flicking a piece of hair behind her shoulder. "If I listened to everything everyone said about me and cared, I would be depressed and obviously not as amazing as I am. The rare occasion I do care, I do something about it. How can you expect for people to stop talking when no one makes them stop?" It was common for Rose to complain to Tam that her parents did that or this, most of the time she was just teasing. Rarely has she ever spoken about her parents in anger, and especially to someone else. Even so, she could do it and no one else. So in sophomore year when she was hanging out with some other girls and everyone was complaining about something or other and heard Marla off handedly comment negatively about her mom, she was up in a moment and ready to punch her. If Tamar hadn't convinced her it wasn't worth it, she would have. Rose didn't start physical fights often, preferring to hit them where it hurt. There had only been one time that she had actually hit someone and that was in third grade when Penny Micheals wouldn't leave Tamar alone. Rosalie had been sick for a week when new girl Penny had come to school and picked on her best friend. When she got back to school, it was obvious that Penny wasn't being nice to Tam when Tam didn't want to play with her during recess and she had to basically drag her. It didn't take long for Penny to make a remark that had Tam in tears and Rose with a first in the new girls face. "Alright," She agreed. Not pushing the subject. Wes had his own demons with his mom and Tam and it was none of her business unless he told her. Despit everything, she knew how to respect privacy, of those she cared about anyways. Sometimes what people needed was a distraction instead of talking about it and she could do that for him.
As the night passed on, it seemed that Wesley was grabbing the vodka with a renewed vigor. On the other hand Rosalie kept her shots to a minimum, sipping on the small glass from time to time rather than downing drinks one after another. With a high tolerance for alcohol she was only slightly buzzed as he told jokes and loosened up with the alcohol. Her last high school party and she was babysitting, the things she does for Tam. The blonde thought she would be hooking up with someone not making sure Wesley didn't pass out. She quirked up an eyebrow when he finally asked for his brother. Finally he noticed. "Parker had to deliver a package," She answered half heartedly, figuring it was the safest answer with a drunk, or at least getting there, Wesley, while she made seductive eyes at a hot guy who was flirting with her the same way. Rose was smiling teasingly when Wes's comments ruined her plans. "As much as I know I'm a goddess, I'm not your Juliet, Romeo." She got up, tugging at his arm. "Come on, we can go finish the bottle at my house," She lied, he would have to sleep at her place. Parker had texted her that he was taking Tam home and while she was supposed to stay with Tamar, she had the keys to her house. "Besides if you really want to go thank me you'll come to my house. As your status of mortal and my superior one of goddess."
When he had started chasing after Tamar, the last thing Parker had expected was for her to scream as if an axe wielding murdered was coming for her. The scream pierced his ears loudly causing him to cringe slightly and stumble back in surprise. Good thing he did too or Tam's wild arms would have hit him in the face. "If I had known that you would have reacted like that, trust me when I say i would have called out for you. Besides you looked so lost in your own little world that I doubt you would have heard me." And by world he meant her anger but Parker didn't want to mention it. It was blatantly obvious that she was angry, anyone would be if they were in her position, but Wes was his brother and he would always come first. So he let the obvious problems wash over them without mentioning it because just as they both knew she was angry, they both knew where his loyalties lied. Perhaps he should have just told Rose to go after Tamar and he should have stayed with his brother. It would have been easier that way. Not that it mattered anymore. "And if you had heard me, there's nothing that could be done about that almost heart attack you had. I'm just so handsome and charming that sometimes girls can't help themselves around me and their bodies go into overdrive,"He teased her, hoping that she would at least feel a little better. "Hey, come on. Don't give me that smile, it's all fine. We all try to deal with our own problems in different ways. But perhaps walking around in that outfit at night wasn't the smartest decision," He pointed out. They lived in a small town, the most troublesome thing the sheriff had to deal with was arrogant, rich teens, but hey, it never hurt to be careful. Better safe, than sorry, right? Parker looked at the way she was heading before sighing, "You know if you were heading back to the car, you can't get in without keys, unless you somehow know how to pick the lock or planned to smash the window then hotwire it. In that case, I think it's me who has to be careful around you, little Miss Criminal. I have to warn you, I didn't bring any cash tonight if you plan to rob me," He couldn't help but chuckle.
Parker wished for Tam's sake that he could heave given her the answer she had hoped for. To tell her that Wes had sent him to look after her so she could smile and he wouldn't have to crush the small hopeful look she had and see it turn to disappointment. But he wasn't about to lie when it could quickly backfire and make everything worse. "I'm sorry Tam, he didn't. Wes is just a little out of it right now,"He told her gently. With a shake of his head, he returned her hug, before telling her,"Like I said before Tam, it really is no problems. Friends look out for other friends." He didn't tell her Rose sent him, not knowing if the two were angry or irritated with each other. Park stayed quiet when she mentioned Wesley enjoying the party. He didn't think it was the wisest time to make a joke. Entirely too soon. But honestly he didn't really think his brother was having a good time, not really. Perhaps he had been enjoying himself with Rose earlier, but he was a horrible drunk. He got bitter and moody unless he was really trashed. "Wow, my mom likes me getting home alive too. Crazy, isn't it?" Parker hadn't drank as much as he wanted too, hadn't even had time to take a shot. He had one beer and that was it. Goes to say it wasn't fun drinking when his brother was having problems. "I'm fine, honestly. Just wait here and I'll be back soon with the car." With another smile, he took off jogging, he was pretty fast thanks to sports, and in time he was back, honking at her. "Get in Tam."
~~~~~~~~
Rose had to bite her tongue to keep from snapping at Wes. He was being an ass by mocking her and rolling his eyes but she let it slide. For the fact that he was Tamar's boyfriend and that he obviously didn't know how to drink. But she never forgot these things and if Wesley thought that she couldn't be an even bigger ass then he was sadly mistaken. He was lucky he was making himself miserable all on his own. Besides it's not like she was lying. It was true, the guys wanted her and the girls wanted to be her and when they couldn't, it was nasty. Sure it sounded full of herself but it was the stone cold, hard, truth. And Wesley was doing a nice job of playing out the 'woe is me' card. Honestly, she was regretting the fact that she let Parker go after Tamar. Her best friend would be a lot easier to deal with, despite her slight annoyance with her, and she wouldn't get the urge to snap at her every five minutes like she had right now. But because she basically assured the younger Lockwood brother that she would look after Wes, she continued listening to him. The more he continued on, the more she couldn't help but think that in some ways, classy and smart Wesley Lockwood, was a coward. There was nothing wrong with trying to keep the peace but not at the expense of once happiness. In her opinion, Wes wasn't keeping the peace because he was noble, but because he was afraid. Afraid to truly speak his mind. Even so Rosalie kept her lips firmly closed and continued to allow the half drunk boy to basically carry on the conversation all on his own. She had been planning on recording him but her small irritation at him, stopped her from gathering future blackmail on him. It was no fun, she was having no fun. It was times like these that she knew that her cousins made the right decision in barley interacting with the people in their town. But the blonde knew she wouldn't stay annoyed forever and it would fade. Rosalie was nothing but not honest and blunt and she knew that Wes was a good person, she just didn't have much patience on her. Besides, she was more than pleased when he agreed that she was right in the first place, as always. Modest she was not. In the very least, after his rant, Wes lightened up again and started being the drunk most people knew Parker to be. The loose one, the one telling jokes and taking more drinks, but Parker seemed to have more friends because usually he was surrounded by people. At the moment she was taking care of Wes and his two friends seemed to come and go. Rosalie decided to let him have his fun, her one kind act of the day, but she drew the line when the vodka bottle was emptied.
Luckily, she was able to convince him to go to her house with a little white lie. She ignored his questions on Parker's disappearance, collecting her things before letting him lean on her as they left. "Yes, Tam's your Juliet," The blonde confirmed and that was about as much as she said on the walk to her house. She didn't get much word in nor did she want to with his mindless blabbering. Rose sighed, god, was she never going to let Wes forget this in return for the fact that she had wasted her last party babysitting him because Wes and Tam both through huge tantrums. Luckily enough they made it to her house fairly quickly but it seemed he was a curious drunk and asked far too many questions. One was already more than enough. "I don't know Wes," She answered before dragging him in and locking the door behind him. It was a bit of a struggle to get him up the stairs but she managed and led him to the guest room before dumping him on the bed. "Here's the deal Wesley, I'll give you more to drink after you sleep,"She fibbed. Thankfully she easily managed to leave the room before he could talk some more. God knows the boy could talk when drunk. Rose rubbed her temples as she walked to her room, turning on the lights and kicking off her heels. She wasn't tired so she turned on Netflix and poured herself a drink. For the headache that Wes's drunkenness was going to give her tomorrow, she had more than earned it.
