I'm going to read Laura Childs Tea Shop Mystery series this spring. I love starting a series where I can read the books in order and without waiting a year for the next one.
I finished listening to Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn. Part of the reason for this series is that it is urban fantasy. The other part is that the reader is Marguerite Gavin. She does the reading of Kim Harrison's Hollows series.
Now I have started Kitty Goes to Washington.
Now I have started Kitty Goes to Washington.
Listened to Behind the Beautiful Forevers, by Katherine Boo for my book club. Reminds me of Slumdog Millionaire. Didn't realize until I finished it and the audiobook included author comments at the end. The characters in the book actually lived in the Mumbai slums. With this knowledge, I find myself thinking about events and characters described in the book. I can't imagine what kind of life the slum in habitants face, I am appalled at the corruption of the entire Indian legal and bureaucratic systems. The book clearly illustrates a dog-eat-dog mentality and the strong caste discrimination that is still institutionalized in India. I haven't decided if I liked the book, but it has certainly given me quite alot to think about.Finished reading The Antiquarian by Julian Sanchez on my NOOK, it's really good!
Dodgerby Terry Pratchett (wonderful)The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson(meh, it's not terrible. It is kind of interesting. )
Started reading Jaye Wells Dirty Magic. I haven't read her other series. It took me a little bit to get into this one.
