What is everyone reading for fun right now? I just finished "Dorothy Must Die," and I wasn't too impressed. It had an awesome idea behind it but it felt like the pacing was off and by the end of the book nothing had happened! I'm about to start "Tsarina." I love reading YA fiction for fun because it is easy to understand even when I am brainfogged.

I read Thomas Slater's Show Stoppah. It's urban fiction...the writing is pretty good although sometimes the story line seems a little too far fetched but that's the author's point. There was also emphasis on women empowerment, which is different for this genre. I enjoyed some parts more than others. Specifically, the beginning piqued my curiosity and I read the rest for the sake of finishing...but now I want to know what happens to the characters!

Brittie (brittiereads) | 127 comments My "Just for Fun" book is probably movie books. If I love a movie, I go to see if there is a book that it is adapted from. The book is always better, right?

Currently, I am trying to read Man on Fire.

Alex (mabith) I'm listening to Swiss Family Robinson right now. This is my year to make up on all the children's classics I've never read.

The book is always better, but it's fun to see how the movie is different than the book! I am currently rereading Divergent so it will be fresh in my mind when I finally see the movie!

Devin (campredwood) | 21 comments I've been trying to get through Neil Gaiman's "Stardust". Everyone says I'll love it but so far but the tone is rubbing me the wrong way and I'm inching my way through for now.

I might try working into the GoT series again soon, I've been hung up on book two for over a year now, between flares and fog and schoolwork. I love it but it's so dense!

I hate that, I feel bad when I don't like a book everyone says I'll like. I usually abandon those books and come back to them every so often to see if I like it at that moment.

I'm glad you get that! It's silly but frustrates me that I have people give great recommendations that should fit so well in theory but not in practice. It's like a bad blind date! You wonder if you try harder if you can make it work, which makes you wonder if you should even bother, and then it spirals into existential crisis! ;)

Wilderness (wdoregon) Hah! I do the same thing, it happens to me all the time. I just finally got to the Harry Potter books last year, b/c i was finally in a place to appreciate them.

Alex (mabith) Yeah, I have a hard time reading things others recommend to me specifically. I can always trust that I'll like things my mom recommends, as she does think about ME when she's doing that, and not just how she liked a book. My dad I can usually trust on non-fiction recs, but it's more hit and miss with fiction.

I do feel guilty for waiting so long to read The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, which a friend sent me. They were such fun.

I'm currently reading a book about Jamestown now, Savage Kingdom by Benjamin Woolley.
