Beverly The Africa39 list – a list of the 39 most promising fiction writers from Africa (south of the Sahara) under 40 – announced on Tuesday at the London Book Fair, acknowledges, reflects and embraces these contradictions.

Here is a link to the full article - that lists the 39 authors and expounds on the good and the challenges of lists.

There is food for thought in this article but for me lists are lists which sometimes I agree with the entries and know lists are subjective to those who are responsible for complying them.

For me lists are data points as a data person they are usually a way for me to discover something to put on my own lists to pursue.

Lists are always problematic to me -- had seen this list on twitter and agree with writer's note about lists and the weighting to Kenya and Nigeria

But agree w you Beverly, it is one way to broaden the knowledge and scope of writers and books in the continent, Thanks for posting!
