Afro Book Club discussion

The Africa39 list – a list of the 39 most promising fiction writers from Africa (south of the Sahara) under 40 – announced on Tuesday at the London Book Fair, acknowledges, reflects and embraces these contradictions.

There is food for thought in this article but for me lists are lists which sometimes I agree with the entries and know lists are subjective to those who are responsible for complying them.

For me lists are data points as a data person they are usually a way for me to discover something to put on my own lists to pursue.

Lists are always problematic to me -- had seen this list on twitter and agree with writer's note about lists and the weighting to Kenya and Nigeria
