Angie | 623 comments This is the thread for Savage. So far there's Natasha, Steven and me reading but anyone else is welcome to join in:-)

message 2: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I've got this book waiting in my room and I've been looking forward to reading it for ages:) I'm going to start it today.

message 3: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments my brother gifted me a nice first edition hardcover of this book when I visited him a few weeks ago. Might have to join this buddy read.

message 4: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Nice Adam! Mines a seen better days paperback from Amazon but it only cost £1.90 including the delivery so its all OK:) I thought you'd join in Adam:-)

You know I love a Laymon buddy read, Angie!

message 6: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments This is going to be an interesting buddy read because where this is easily one of my favorite Laymon titles so far and this will be my second time reading it (I read it in really small print the first time), this is a story that has so many elements in it and where there is horror, there is also so much more offered. I would love to win the lotto or powerball and use the money to help produce a film of this one someday :O)

message 7: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I've not read this one but on some buddy reads I've already read the book. I just make sure I don't read past other people. But because I read fast I have to do that anyway lol. Its set in late 1880s isn't it, so different to Laymon s other novel.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

So what is the start date on this one? I'm in. So much for only reading one at a time *sigh*.

message 9: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments I could have sworn someone else did a buddyread of this one. Looks good. I'd read it, but don't have it and the ripper aspect is not that appealing to me. I'll have to see what u guys think.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Things have changed with me rather quickly. I don't have time for this one now for a least a week or two. *sigh*

message 11: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments We could wait a week or two to start this if that's ok. It sounds like we are all in on a read at the moment anyway. I won't get to start this till about the first of May anyway.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

The first part of May sounds great to me. What about everybody else?

message 13: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments First of May sounds great to me. Addy, if you want a copy, I can email ot to you.

message 14: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments By the way, how are you doing with the Song Of Ice And Fire series, Addy?

message 15: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I'm okay with starting it at the beginning of May as well, it'll give me chance to finish some other books:) I've got so many on my currently reading list and I'd like the chance to read some more of Fade Away.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Awesome. That way I can get caught up again.

message 17: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Wow Adam that would be awesome! I'd love to join you guys:) Im about half way through ice and fire and I'm loving it! Thanks for asking:) How was your convention? I soo wanted to go!

message 18: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments The convention was a great experience, Addy. Thanks for asking. My brother and I had a blast and sold a ton of books. Met a few celebs as well.

message 19: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Is it the first you've done as exhibitors Adam?

message 20: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Yes, Angie. I must say that my expectations were completely blown away. Will definitely be hitting that one again next year.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

That's great Adam!

message 22: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Thanks, Cindy.

message 23: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I saw the photos on Evans s blog the other day and it does look as if you had a brilliant time there Adam:) And the book looks awesome!! Its down on my wish list for the beginning of May, has it got any new stories in it?

message 24: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments No new stories in the collection. We made chap books for the stories that have been published since Screamscapes and Toes Up. New stuff is on the way soon, also.

message 25: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I'm getting it anyway, I've got both your collections but they are ebooks. Nothing wrong with that :):) but it will good to have a paper version for my collection:-)

message 26: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments I've got Screamscapes signed by your bro. I need one from you Adam:) What celebs did u meet?

message 27: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Thanks Angie!
Addy, I would be happy to do that.
As for celebs, there were a lot of them there signing for the fans, but I only met Corey Feldman, Sid Haig and Bill Moseley.

message 28: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Would I buy one from your web site instead of Amazon to get a signed copy Adam? It would be very cool to have one signed!! I have a few autographed books now and I'd love to add yours to them:D

message 29: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Thanks Angie. I will send you each one. Right now that is the only way to get one autographed. I will let you know whn I am getting set to send them and get the shipping info at that time.

message 30: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments That's brilliant!!! Thanks Adam:-) and big thanks to Evans as well:-)

message 31: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Thanks Adam! That would be great! I think Corey Feldman is the only one I'm familiar with. That's so awesome! Im glad you and your brother had a great time. Maybe one of these days I'll make it over there:)

message 32: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments Sounds like a cool convention Adam. What was the name of it and who puts it on? Does it ever travel to other cities? We have the Wizard World Comic Con and a few others out this way. They even had a book one up in Seattle one time. Would be cool to see you and your brother hit the west coast for signings some day. Maybe even go get a beer with you guys or something. Portland, OR and Seattle both have some great sites to see and interesting history that you might be able to absorb into a story someday :O)

message 33: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I'd love to go to comic con! Do you go Steven? Adam did anyone one you know from goodreads turn up at your exhibition? We have smaller shows but it would be so good to go to one of the bigger ones like over in the states:O
I went to a Buffy one years ogo in Blackpool and that was pretty cool:-)

message 34: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments There were a few people we knew from Goodreads, and a few we suspected might be...
Steve, that sounds great, man. Nothing like a cold beer after slinging and signing all day. Now if we could just make it out that far...

message 35: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Oh, and the con was called Mad Monster Party Charlotte. It was their third year and they plan to do it again there next year.

That would be a real treat to exoerience :)

So beginning of May, ha? That's 13 more days and a lot of books to read ;)

message 37: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Same with me Natasha, I keep adding to my currently reading list, lol. But I should finish The Fall today but then I want to read the last one in the series! What tourist thing do you do Natasha, I've seen you mention it a few times:-) I'm just being nosey!

message 38: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments Angie, the comic con we go to is down in Portland, Oregon each year in either Jan. or Feb. and it's run by Wizard World. It's awesome!! We are addicts now. We met lots of great people and even got a picture with Michael Rooker from The Walking Dead...what a tough dude. Talk about a powerful handshake :O) They also have another comic con up towards Seattle (we live right in the middle of both cities) and Seattle's is called Emerald Con and it's even bigger. Plus, Portland has one in Sept. called Rose City Con. It's smaller and more comic book related, like artists and writers. Not as many celebs. Although I think they are really the important ones cause without them some of the celebs wouldn't become famous :O) Right Adam?

Oh and Adam, yeah gotta have a cold beer after one of those conventions. They have a place set up in Portland not far from the convention center that they have an after hour party for all the guests and such. We are hoping to go next year. We take our beer very seriously up here in the northwest. Had a fantastic beer out at Seaside, OR last week called Black Dynamite. It had cocoa beans and vanilla beans that were soaked in bourbon thrown into the mix. Talk about a smooth dark beer. But ya know I also love a pitcher of an ale or lager that's super chilled and ready for chugging with some tacos or pizza :O)

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

May 1st good with everybody?

message 40: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Yes Cindy.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Just double-checking. I'm staying on track.

Hi guys, just a quick hello :))) I was crazy busy the last days and I can't wait to do this buddy read :)
Anyone started, or can I start already...?

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Go on and start if you want Natasa. I probably won't start until the 1st. I have two others to finish first.

message 44: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I've anyone starts that's cool but I think I'll be a bit late start this. I hope this is OK with everyone.

message 45: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Sorry about all the crazy spelling over the past couple of days!! I've got no idea what I've been saying, lol. I think we start this tomorrow don't we?

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Angie, I might be a few days late starting this myself. Oh well, no big deals in this group :D

message 47: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I believe I will start tomorrow.

message 48: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments I think everyone can start now if they want. Even if you are a little ahead it won't be by much I think.

Hi guys...I was again a bit down, so spent the day in bed and started the book...I like it so far, it is very interesting or better said I'm interested where this is all heading. I want it to surprise me so I haven't read the synopsis for this one :) sometimes I do that, jump into a book whithout an idea what's it gonna be about. Anyone else does this?

I just have so much to work and I went out the last weeked (I was soaking wet and we had an after party outdoors...so I'm not surprised I got a bit sick)
