Hooked on YA books 2015 discussion

I will be teaching this book to my ninth grade class as my unit in the spring. I'm really excited to examine some of the core themes of loss, grief, determination etc. The book comes from such an interesting place and I know that it will catch some of the hesitant readers. The art is spectacular and the story is relatable on every level. I know that a lot of students struggle with sadness for a variety of reasons and this book might offer some kind of outlet to those who really need it.
