My book tells the true story of the Scottish entrepreneur, Andrew Ewing, who quietly gave away a fortune in his Christian desire to die a poor man. This is an extract from his obituary "He testified that God challenged him as a young business man on the question of tithing: and it was when he began to give the Lord a tenth of all his income that he began to prosper. As his income increased, he still continued to tithe, and those who had access to his accounts say that he tithed several times over. Giving, to Mr Ewing, was a definite Christian ministry. It was quite characteristic that a member of the happy “colony” at Clermiston Mains was heard to say after Mr Ewing had ordered some kindness to be done from his sick-room: “Mr Ewing just loves to give things away. It is almost the last pleasure that is left to him now.”
