I am enjoying this book I find it absorbing and love looking into the past and how things worked. I think it is because I am a Suffolk girl and have a lot of history here.
i am on chapter 4 (yep behind) but i am loving the book... I am enjoying the history. I can't wait to read more. I am going to the suffolk show so i might read more in the car and tonight
Aiming to finish this today as oh is out this afternoon with my 2 year old and home tonight but I am loving it. It's really pulling me in the book makes me think I am there
I'm glad you are enjoying the book, I love reading it, the imagery is very strong ad makes you feel like you are there. The book featured briefly on the TV programme 'The Great British Menu' on Friday when Martin Bell (a guest on the show) talked about the fact that it was one of the most popular books during WW2. Soldiers took the book with them to the trenches to remind them of the countryside of England.
yeah i am nearly finish and its deffo a 5 star for me i really enjoyed it.
I will have to find that programme would be interesting to see it.

I can't seem to pick this up without paying a small fortune to pay. Does anyone know of a site with a cheap download?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Corduroy-Be...Try E-bay, for some reason Amazon seems more expensive. The above link is £3.50 inc P&P

Really enjoyed reading this, recognised descriptions of bury st edmunds. Enjoyed the sense of history in an area where i live!
