My favorite books this year were The Strange & Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender, Howl's Moving Castle, Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, The Wild Girl by Kate Forsyth, and The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making!!
Another Country by James Baldwin honestly immediately rose into my favourite books. I also loved North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell and Who Fears Death? by Nnedi Okorafor a lot.

I just read and loved the first two of the Captive Prince trilogy (third isn't out until 2/2 so honestly I do not recommend reading these before then) by C.S. Pacat. The beginning was a bit weak imo but by the end of the first book you want to immediately start the second and by the end of the second you're devastated that the third isn't out yet.....Also really enjoyed the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor. The ~Epic Romance~ storyline is weak and annoying but the amazing worldbuilding makes up for it.
And then of course there's Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, which probably everyone has already heard about and made up their mind to read or not...

Oh my god. I loved the Captive Prince series?? And you so perfectly summed up the way it feels reading the books. I can't wait until February, it's too far away!!!

Finally got around to reading the Song of Achilles this year (solemnly high-fives u Betty) and the Princess Bride. Both amazing. Also Jeremy Dyson's short story collection The Cranes that Build the Cranes was cool. The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera was one of my fav books I've had to read for class, as was Flaubert's Parrot by Julian Barnes - both of those books had incredible prose which I'm a sucker for.
So many different books here that I've never even heard of! It's great!What are everyone's thoughts on crime/thrillers here?
My favourite book out of the ones I read this year was Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. I got so into it that it actually freaked me out a little and it takes a lot to freak me out! I am also part way through Eeny Meeny by M.J. Arlidge and Faerie Tale by Raymond E. Fiest. I'm enjoying both of them at the moment and hopefully that doesn't change!
And I just realised it was top books of 2015....I am half asleep! In that case for me it has to be The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
