Bibliophiles go to special places or even eat certain things while reading a book.

How does this place looks like? You are welcome to make descriptions for us so we can change or add more creativity for our special time in reading.

onceuponatimeareview My special reading thing I do it's a really bad habit is I skip to the ending of the book a lot.

I read several books at a time. And drink milk chocolate.

I usually read on my bed :P

Yep my BF does that too and she just skims books sometimes

I read on my bed and turn on my radio (real quiet so I can concentrate on my book) and end up in like 20 different positions on my bed cuz its literally impossible to stay comfortable for longer than 15 mins. :)

Amy | 31 comments When listening to audiobooks, I still like to have a physical copy of the book to follow along with. I was just curious if anyone else does this?

Interesting. I have just tried 2 audiobooks and I liked it.

Right now I'm listening to my homework but when I can't concentrate I also read the text while the PC talks lol

message 8: by Kylee (new)

Kylee (kyloouxo) I usually read in my bed or on the couch.. If it on my kobo I will usually drink a hot chocolate ( even in summer) and eat a little snack , but not if it's hard cover or paperback I don't want to stain my book haha :)

I asked for a bookshelf that looks like a tree, so like this I can put them somewhere outside my room because there is almost no space for them anymore lol

Angelica (angelica221) Well, for me it depends on what I am reading. If it is a historical piece of fiction in an exotic country, I will actually download music that is from the country I'm reading about. Yes, I know it sounds cheesy. It has to be instrumental though. I can't focus on what I'm reading if I hear someone singing. I also will read in bed but I do better if I'm in my reading chair with my many dogs surrounding me.

And I love the idea of a book tree!

I like to listen to the Video Game music station on my Pandora while I read. I can't lay down or I'll fall asleep and I like to have something to drink (no matter what it's always in a mug).

If it's something non-fiction I like to highlight, especially so if it's on ebook, but if it's one of my old books I had to read for school then I have no problem writing all over them.

I'm also a bookmark addict. I have to have a perfect bookmark to be paired with the book I'm reading.

Angelica (angelica221) "I'm also a bookmark addict. I have to have a perfect bookmark to be paired with the book I'm reading."

@Kalliope, I love this idea! I generally read a lot of books on the Kindle.

Although I have to admit, I have been listening to more audiobooks. So I generally clean or do things that really do not require a lot of brain power. Also I have to say, audiobooks are fantastic for the doctor's office waiting room!!! And they are really awesome when you are in the dentist chair! Way better than music, at least in my experience with my root canal. The audiobooks were awesome!

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

@Angelica- Woman of Many Dogs

I was thinking about getting into audiobooks! I have a free book download on audible I just can't decide what to use it on!

message 23: by Angelica (new)

Angelica (angelica221) @Kalliope- That's how I got into it! I have the basic membership. Which is $15 a month. I buy the big stuff for my $15 per month-The Game of Thrones expensive stuff. For example, the second book is like $40 and because of my membership, it was $15. And I do a lot of handiwork like knitting, so listening to the Game of Thrones while I knit is pretty cool! I find listening to fiction is easier than non-fiction. But audiobooks are great when you have long trips too.

I mostly move around a lot. I like to lay on my bed and chill with my book. A couple times I've hit myself in the face with the book I'm reading. Oops.

Emily Murphy | 66 comments Well, I do many things!
A) I sit on the floor on the side of my bed, in a "husband" pillow
B) I sit on a chair on the porch (my new favorite place now that we got a chair!)
C) I pace when I feel I need exercise - this was especially true during the school year.

"husband pillow" ??

what is that?

Emily Murphy | 66 comments Gina wrote: "husband pillow" ?? what is that?

It's basically a pillow that stands up with arms. That wasn't a good explanation. Google images basically captures what it is.

message 41: by Eric (new)

Eric Layton (vtel57) My reading time is usually the hour or so before falling asleep when first getting into bed in the evenings. Unfortunately, a book might grab me and sleep will be postponed for hours; till dawn occasionally. ;)

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

My favourite place to read my book is curled up on the couch below the big window in our living room, with a cozy blanket, my dogs, and a hot cup of tea. I need to be comfortable because I will be disappearing for at least an hour at a time! :)

message 46: by Bob (new)

Bob Berry (sizeonehead) | 3 comments I don't know how many b-philes read a lot with the tv on (haven't read all the comments here), but i NEVER watch television without reading at the same time (am constitutionally incapable of not doing at least 2 things at once). As a result, I really enjoy reading between pitches during a baseball game. Should i be institutionalized or is this routine bibliophilia? Answer the second question first.
