I think this one was quite popular when it came out so it will be interesting to finally read it ☺
The blurb sounds great. I've read about drug dealers such as in Perfect chemistry but this read sounds more intense since the it's not a high school setting and the character has a violent background.
I just finished this earlier this month. This book is really intense and quite dark. It's one addictive series and each book gets better. :) J.A. Redmerski surprised me on this because it's really different from
.If this is going to be adapted into a show, I will watch this.

Haha, I was like, "But there're 2 more hours to the 29th? O.O.O.O" right before seeing where you're from.
I've started this one as well. I could get only 8-9 chapters in before going out, but it's going pretty well so far. I'm not a fan of Sarai but Victor sounds like a smart guy, I just hope he won't turn into a douche later on.
Twenty chapters in. I'm quite fond of the book so far, though I do have some problems with the halfway-insta-love. I like it already, but I'll like it a lot more when she (view spoiler) I think what I like the most about the book so far is that Sarai isn't one of those whiny heroines that spend half the book wailing about how awful their lives are. She simply sucks it up and goes on with her life.
Thirty chapters in. As much as I love the big plot twists the author throws at my way, I'd prefer the smaller, smarter ones like the one at the end of chapter thirty. That made me give a hearty chuckle.
I'm on chapter 17. I can't quite get a clear picture of Sarai - she doesn't sound entirely convincing to me...But I like the dynamic between her and Victor and when we start to get his point of view, it makes more sense of some of Sarai's behaviours.
The angle on the story is turning around, as Sarai moves closer to Viktor and we see how they are allied. Nice.

From the author of the New York Times, USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling novel, THE EDGE OF NEVER, comes a story of passion and survival…
Sarai was only fourteen when her mother uprooted her to live in Mexico with a notorious drug lord. Over time she forgot what it was like to live a normal life, but she never let go of her hope to escape the compound where she has been held for the past nine years.
Victor is a cold-blooded assassin who, like Sarai, has known only death and violence since he was a young boy. When Victor arrives at the compound to collect details and payment for a hit, Sarai sees him as her only opportunity for escape. But things don’t go as planned and instead of finding transport back to Tucson, she finds herself free from one dangerous man and caught in the clutches of another.
While on the run, Victor strays from his primal nature as he succumbs to his conscience and resolves to help Sarai. As they grow closer, he finds himself willing to risk everything to keep her alive; even his relationship with his devoted brother and liaison, Niklas, who now like everyone else wants Sarai dead.
As Victor and Sarai slowly build a trust, the differences between them seem to lessen, and an unlikely attraction intensifies. But Victor’s brutal skills and experience may not be enough in the end to save her, as the power she unknowingly holds over him may ultimately be what gets her killed.
This is their story…
