Kimberly Zepeda | 4 comments A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks is very romantic and mysterious book. This book is all about finding who did what and how it happened. Through all of it finding love and passion. A Bend in the Road is where Missy, Miles wife got ran over not on purpose, but by accident. Missy had been out late running where all of a sudden a dog attacked her and from a long distance a drunk driver saw and reacted to the incident. He didn’t mean to hit her, but as he moved away from her way she took a step to much and she hit the car and dead she was. He didn’t know how to react, so he just let her there. From that time on he left Miles; her husband very agitated of the accident. Miles being a sheriff of the town and having to know it all he felt very worthless of the action that wasn’t being put into this “crime scene” as he would say. He felt as he let his own wife down, because he couldn’t find the attacker or the driver. He would try as much to find him, but as time went on the accident seemed to be forgotten throughout life. Her death had changed his life and her son Jonah, but he also felt such loathe towards the person who killed the love of his life. As Jonah grew up and went to school he seemed to be very distracted and confused. His teacher, Miss Sarah Andrew, a woman with great character later met his dad at a parent teacher conference where she gave him the news that Jonah was falling behind. Before they sat down and talked he started to admire her beauty and how amazing she looked from head to toe. You can just imagine all the sublime he felt for her. As time went on they started to talk more and more, where the time finally came and they went out. Further on in their relationship Miles discovers a secret that Sarah hasn’t told him about. He finds out that after a long time off searching for answers he finally had them all along in front of him. He discovers that Sarah’s brother Brain was that killer of his wife. He felt an ambiguity of weather to turn him in or not, but eventually he did and he felt more relaxed then even. As if had made peace with death. All of those sleepless nights thinking of his wife’s killer he had finally found him, but with the person least expected to be with, his lover Sarah Andrews. Even with all that anger built up in him from finding out who Brain was really about he returned back to Sarah where they lived happily making a family of their own and Jonah.
