I'm a little iffy about New Year's Resolutions too, but I like to have a few goals and try not to be mad at myself if I don't meet them––especially because I usually end up accomplishing other things that I didn't know about at the beginning of the year!
I hope you can find some time to work on your writing, and good luck with finishing your WIP! :)

So Jan was just about a complete bust on trying to set aside time to write (I got 1 day in of time I actually set aside). I've been struggling with my WIP. I love the decision of changing it from first to third person, but was struggling with something. When I was seriously debating throwing it in the fire, I decided instead to bounce ideas off of my husband. I felt like my work was me without being me, if that makes any sense. What it boiled down to is that the main text is something I'd write, but I wasn't feeling the ending. He helped me regain focus and I've got a fantastic ending (it goes against everything I was trying to accomplish by this work--making it end all happy), BUT I was trying to fit myself into a box and I can't write like that. It's okay if my endings aren't what I think others would expect or even like. Someone (Ray Bradbury?) once said to write something you'd want to read. So I'm going take that advice and roll.

That's awesome of your husband to help you with your ideas––I always love bouncing my ideas off other people. :) And yes, definitely go with your gut and don't try to write something a certain way because you feel like you "should". Do whatever feels right!

I will sit down and write tonight.I will sit down and write tonight.
-Stop looking at that awesome stack of library books you brought home.-

Yay!!! Now rub some of that willpower off on me :D. We should have a writing support group, kind of like a weight loss group with points and prizes :D.
Yessss willpower plz. I seem to only be able to write when I'm at the laundromat, just me and my notebook. Dunno what I'm gonna do when we finally get our washer/dryer hooked up at the house xD
Oh no, Ashley. I really see the draw of having "office hours". Now if life would only stay out of the way! :)
Friday I was able to crank out a whopping 1700 words on my epic rewrite. And yesterday I topped 4000! Having so much fun with these characters. Sneak peek to come......eventually :)

2016. I'm not big on New Year's Resolutions (I've never made one before in my life) but I do want to set some goals for myself for 2016.
Here goes.....
1. I'm a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom (the acronym for that is CRAZY, if any of you didn't know :) ). I love it but it's hard for me to carve out time for myself, so I'd like to set up some "work" hours for at least a couple of hours for a few days of the week.
2. I'd like to finish my current project, "Working Title."
