Anna | 247 comments Looking forward to another great year of reading in 2016! I was so close to 50 last year (47) that I've decided to make that my goal for this year's challenge. I haven't written any reviews in previous years but this time round I'm going to try reviewing as well (though some may be very short...). I'll aim to review at least half the books I read - so at least 25 reviews.

And I've already finished my first book for the year (started in 2015, but finished and reviewed in 2016): The Singing Elms: The Autobiography Of Lauris Elms by Lauris Elms. My review is at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show.... (I haven't tried to link to reviews before, so I'm hoping that worked!)

Brenda Good luck:)

Ju Transcendancing (transcendancing) | 50 comments Link worked just fine! Good luck on your challenge! What genre(s) do you prefer to read?

message 4: by Anna (new)

Anna | 247 comments Ju, I like a variety of genres - classics, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, mystery, non-fiction - and I could go on! So I have plenty of books to choose from for the challenge.

Ju Transcendancing (transcendancing) | 50 comments Good to hear! I mostly read SFF myself, but I have more recently branched into light hearted mysteries that aren't too scary :)

Anna | 247 comments I've been away on holiday and have added two books to my total: 9. From India with Love by Latika Bourke and 10. The Grass is Greener by Loretta Hill (my review is at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...).

message 14: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Loved The Grass is Greener Anna:) Hope you had a great holiday!

message 15: by Anna (new)

Anna | 247 comments Brenda, I seemed to be in a minority as I wasn't a huge fan of The Grass is Greener. My mother in law gave it to me as a gift and it probably isn't a book I'd have chosen for myself, which probably explains why it wasn't my cup of tea. Certainly lots of other reviewers seem to have loved it! And that's why it's great that we have so many AWW to choose from - there is something for everybody. I've just written a review and added a link to my post above.

message 16: by Brenda (new)

Brenda That's bad luck Anna...I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, but it seems strange to be given a gift of a book that isn't your normal fare as well!

Anna | 247 comments Book 34: Hope Farm by Peggy Frew. Another great read - 4 stars.

And since we're just over halfway through the year, it's a good time to check how I'm tracking towards my goal. At 34 books, I'm well over halfway to my goal of 50. This is the first year I'm reviewing as well, so I'd only aimed to review 25 of the 50. I'm very close to that goal, with 22 reviews so far. Just as well, as I'm due to have my first baby in less than three weeks so I supect my reading and reviewing time will soon be significantly reduced!

message 41: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Wow congratulations Anna! All the best with bub :)

Anna | 247 comments Thanks Brenda. :-)
