Favourite book of 2016 - We Are the Ants

Seems like it was only yesterday when we began our 2015 thread!

I know right? It feels like just a few days ago I was erasing my four to write 5! Now I have to keep erasing my 5 for a 6. =\

Lol. Excited to see our 2016 favourites. I wonder what they will be....

I started reading The Taxidermist's Daughter, but couldn't get into it.

Just finished The Girl on the Train and I couldn't put it down!

Ahh the 5th wave is being made into a movie!

It is still on my list to read.

How did you find it?

That's actually how I found it! The movie looked interesting, so I decided to read the book. It's actually really good, but it's a little confusing. (view spoiler)[The Fifth Wave for the movie version has an earthquake, while in the book, there's a flood... tsunami. (hide spoiler)]

I actually requested it a long time ago. I searched five libraries! There was a library with 40 holds for that book, but I finally settled on one with 19 holds. Got it a month later, which is actually pretty good.

Wow very popular then!

Yeah I did, but it was worth it. That was a good book. Already reading the second one!

*sighs* This is awkward. I thought I read seven books and was three books behind schedule. Well, I was mixed up. Apparently, I'm seven books behind schedule.

I am one book behind schedule. I seem to be giving up on books lately. I have sooooo many to read, I don't want to waste my time on one which is boring........

How did you find Northanger Abbey? It's on my to read list.

I enjoyed it. The heroine Catherine is delightfully young and naive.

The Martian was okay, (view spoiler)[after a while, the suspense was lost because you knew he would create a problem then fix it in the next few sols (hide spoiler)].

I've watched the film and thought it was good. Not sure if I could follow the book though....

I know! I have been so busy with work and my house that I haven't had much time to read. Finally finished the book i've been reading for awhile. Hopefully will finish my next one quicker.

My August book was United as One, a terrific conclusion to the I am number four series.

Whew, I have a lot of books to add.

Annabella, there are times when it is difficult to find time to read. About ten years ago, there was a period in my life when I found reading tiring. I became a TV junkie, mostly shows that give you advice about everything. Fortunately, I was able to read again but I was hooked on those shows for a few years!

That sounds like me right now. I have got addicted to a few series and I just cannot stop. I have also moved hose and spending my times refurbishing it. It is so tiring. When I find the time to read, I end up getting stuck reading a boring book. I have to finish it, I cannot leave a book unread.

Annabella, I have finally reached the stage where I don't always finish a book, but I really don't have to like the book to do that. I have kept a list of did not finish books and it varies from year to year.

I'm pretty sure I already found my favourite October book... but I guess I'll wait 28 days to add it. XD

That sounds like a good idea, since it is only the third of the month.

Sometimes I am like. No, just no, I will not finish you. You get some awful books.

I think my favourite book is SON by Lois Lowry. It is a very powerful conclusion to The Giver series.

My favourite book of 2016 was surprisingly We Are the Ants. I would have to say I'll Give You the Sun was a close second but it was from two point of views and I'll have to admit, the sister's point of view wasn't as great which is why it wasn't my favourite.
