Audrey had been exploring the castle, and when she opened this door, she sighed with delight. Finally, the library... And there were so many books! She entered, closing the door behind her, and running her fingers down the volumes.

The guard opened the closed door for Peter and as he walked in, he realized the library was occupied already. Weird, usually he got the whole library for himself because apparently no one in the palace really wanted to be in this so-called boring place. He recognized the girl inside the library as one of selected girl.

She didn't notice Peter, as she was entranced by the hundreds of novels. She hadn't seen so many before in her life!"

Peter curled a brief smile when he glanced at the girl. She was so captivated by the collections in this library, she wasn't even realized someone entered after her. Well, he was planning to grab something from that section, so Peter thought he should greeted her anyway. "Find anything you like, miss?" he asked politely.

She turned quickly. "Oh! I didn't hear you come in... Terribly sorry, your highness." She bobbed a quick curtsy, feeling slightly flustered. She hated being flustered. It was so... Not her. And get she'd been surprised twice already today, and had been flustered both times. She had to keep her cool...

"It's okay. As the matter of fact, I ocassionaly lost my ability to sense people's approach while I am in this very room." Peter told her. He grabbed a hard-covered book from the top shelf and turned back at Audrey again. "Do you like our collections, Miss Audrey Matthews?" he asked.

She smiled a little at that. "Yes, there are so many books... It's amazing. I can't imagine how anyone could find the time to read them all."

"Precisely, Miss Audrey." Peter smiled at her answer. She seemed like an intelligent young lady. "You are free to read any book you want, and you can come whenever you want. Don't worry, usually this room is occupied only by me."

Peter's eyes widened for a brief moment. "Why do you say so, miss?" he asked.

"Because you just told me that I can come in here whenever I like. Which stands to reason that before you told me that, I was not allowed to come in here whenever I liked."

"Good point." he nodded. "Actually, it is not that strict, miss. We just prevent any unwanted scenarios, in case certain situation happen during your stay in the palace. Believe me when I said, it is for your own good." Peter explained softly. He realized that they have been standing for quite some times, he glanced at the tables on the middle of the room before he looked back at Audrey, "Care to join me, miss? Forgive me that I keep you standing here, have a seat with me there, would you?" Peter offered.

She smiled. "Thank you. Sitting would be wonderful." She made her way over to the table he'd motioned toward.

When they reached the closest table, Peter pulled a chair for Audrey first, gesturing her to sit down first, then he sat across the table facing her. "I hope you don't mind that I am not exactly the Prince that you should have spent time with," Peter said. After all, this girl and the other are here for his brother and not him. "May I ask if you met the crown prince already? "

She shook her head. "No, I haven't, yet... Of course, with so many girls to attempt to woo, it's really no surprise that he hasn't noticed me among the crowd..."

"Beg to differ, miss. I believe there's a little light in all of us. Some might radiate under the daylight, the other shines brighter in the dark." he told her. "There is still plenty of time, just try to take it slowly."

She nodded slowly, trying to ascertain his meaning. "Unless I get eliminated tomorrow," she pointed out. It wasn't as if it really mattered, anyway...

"What makes you think so?" Peter asked. "Because you're less stand out comparing the other girls? So what, you can't pleased everybody, it doesn't mean you are less qualified. Who knows what my brother is really looking for, am I right?"

She shrugged. "I'm not sure I have the same... Drive as the other girls. They all know what they want, and they know how to get it. They're all dressed up in their fancy dresses with the huge skirts and their hair a mile high, and I chose one of the more simple dresses in my wardrobe, and left my hair down... And quite honestly, how's a prince expected to choose a lowly lawyer over all these models and actresses?"

"You look lovely, miss. Believe me on that." Peter assured her. "And clothes are just vessels. What really matters is what's within it. You can wear a dress, or let the dress wears you."

She sighed. "You're kind to say so, but you'll forgive me if I don't believe you. Among all these other girls, I'm hardly pretty."

"That depends on people's subjectivity, miss. Everybody has their own opinion." Peter told her. "You're also not the first woman I met that have this insecurity about their look."

"Well, miss. Then, what exactly are you planning to do in here, then?" he asked curiously. "What brought you here on the first place?"

"My parents told me I should try, at least. And now that I'm here... I feel like a fish out of water. Like I don't fit in among all these giggling girls hoping for a glimpse of your brother."

"So, are you saying that you're here not by your own will, then?" Peter asked again. "Miss, if you don't want to do something, you have to say it, it's not forbidden to reject something."

"The Queen seems okay with it. She even has three children, I think I am pretty confidence to say that she is happy to marry a guy that once unfamiliar, the one that she never met before The Selection."

She sighed. "And see? Now I'm insulting your mother by accident. I'm not but cut out for this, am I?" She asked. "Be honest, please."

Unexpectedly, Peter bursted a small giggle. "Miss, you have a self-destruction issue." he said. His voice was relaxed and less stiff than before. "I don't know, Miss Audrey. I am not the one who makes the decision, the one that's going to marry one of you." Peter said genuinely.

"And thank goodness you're not... I can't imagine trying to decide who out of 35 girls you ought to marry."

"Yeah… There's a benefit to be born second." he said. "How about you, Miss Audrey? Your family, what about them? "

"Wow, that is interesting." Peter said. "Must be a little hard to grow up as a single child, knowing you aren't expected to dissapoint anyone."

Wren walked into the library in her long sleeved red gown. For some reason she was always cold and usually liked to wear dresses that would cover her entire body except her face. You see, Wren is a modest girl who blames herself for everything. She thinks that when she dies she will hurt and scar her parents, friends, and other family. The truth be told, she will. Wren crossed over the library where a few classics called home. Great, she thought as she picked one up.To her luck no one was in the library, that she knew of. Today she already met a handful of girls, 3 I think. Well, that is a lot for her. Her hair was up in a bun and her make up was mostly black. It was usually black. Her parents told her to stop wearing black clothes after 3 months of her brothers death and she obeyed. But, she still wears black make up. No one can make her not. Well, if someone really wanted to I guess they could but her mother did that too so who was going to.
Tanya rushed in the library. Her hair was still a bit damp from the pool and she wore a summery pink skirt and white blouse. Hurrying over to the 'H' section, she paused for a minute. She rarely spent time in libraries, she was only here to study up on horses because she had read the prince was interested in them. So, how was it they were organized? Remembering that it was by author's name, she went over to the B section, looking for a particular book. After a few minutes, she took a book from the shelf and walked over to a chair across the room. On the way she tripped, her book flying on a couch near the fireplace. "So sorry!" She gasped to its occupant.

" No worries," Wren said calmly then coughed. She was very pale today and wasn't feeling good. " I am Wren. And you must be..."

Audrey looked up from her conversation with Peter to see two more people enter the library. She sighed, knowing that it had been too vain to hope that with so many other people, the two of the would be left alone for their conversation. Although Peter had said that he was typically the only one here...

Wren coughed again. She was afraid she might get very ill again. A headacke appeared followed by a verity of sore places. She felt as if she was being punched all over her body. She closed her eyes for a while. Maybe, she thought, that will help. It didn't. Wren looked as if she was in pain. It was visible.

((Back, sorry had to go!))"I'm Tanya, from Caste Four." Tanya's relived expression that Wren wasn't angry quickly turned to one of concern. "Are you okay?" She asked worriedly. "You don't look so good." She sat down on the edge of the couch, quickly wrung her hair to avoid getting the couch wet, and turned back to Wren.
"It's getting crowded, don't you think, miss?" Peter whispered quitely. "That's new. I'm not used to see much people around this room."

"Yes... Library's seem to typically be empty but for books... And yet all of a sudden it seems to be crowded.

"Well, and also a perfect place to do things privately. Away from the cameras." he said. "If you find it disturbing, we can move to the second floor." he offered

She nodded, and shrugged. "If you want to, we could... It's still quieter here than most places in the castle at the moment."
