This is a Border. Have patrols here everyone in a while.

Lumni padded to the very edge of the MountainRiver bands. She looked around, sniffing the air for any intruders or trouble. There seemed to be none today. Lumni began pacing along the border, trying to get out some her restless energy.

Mahlia Akeelah stopped running at the boarder. She walked slowly and in control while turning her attention almost solely on her powers. For once all was quiet, she couldn't even pick up movement from forest creatures/prey. Now that's a first! But it's very odd, there's always something moving... Akeelah peered into the territory beyond, searching for anything, anyone. She shuddered, It's all too still...

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

A bush tussles on the other side of the border in the Cloudpine side. Two eyes seer out. Seeing the two, he decided to make himself visible. So the male slid out, his bright gaze flickering between the two. He looked rather odd, with his long tail, rounded ears, feathered legs, and fur all over. "Hello," he greeted the others, his tone wary,

message 5: by Mahlia (last edited Jan 31, 2016 04:37PM) (new)

Mahlia Sensing his presence Akeelah turned slowly, "Hello yourself," she said looking him up and down. What is he? she wondered, very confused. She drew herself up to her full height and lifted the fur along her spine, "I don't know who you are, nor do I know where your from cause I've never seen you before, but don't even think of stepping over this line," she raked her claws through the dirt, creating the dividing line between the lands. She sat down satisfied.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

The male shrugged. "I wouldn't expect anything other that that tom a MountainRiver anyway." He said smoothly. "I'm Blake." He said, wondering if she would respond with her name, if anything.

message 7: by Mahlia (last edited Jan 31, 2016 05:30PM) (new)

Mahlia She nodded, he seemed friendly enough. She let her guard down a little. "Akeelah," she said stiffly. She concentrated on her powers, wondering if Blake had anyone else with him. Sensing no one she relaxed a little. "So," she said, "how's everything?"

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake closed his eyes for a second. "That's a nice name." He commented. "And everything's good in my realm, thank you very much." Then he decided to press her on the subject as well. "How's everything going for you?"

message 9: by Mahlia (last edited Jan 31, 2016 05:44PM) (new)

Mahlia Akeelah looked at her paws. When she lifted her head after a couple seconds, her eyes were sad and almost lifeless for a moment. She shook her head, "We all are well. I'm glad to hear CloudPine is also." Akeelah's voice had taken on a hollow tone that wasn't convincing. She avoided Blake's eyes, hoping he would believe her even though her chances were slim.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake lifted an eyebrow. "And you expect me to believe that?" He asked, his eyes glimmering with amusement. He cocked his head to the left. "I won't tell unless it is for the good of the Cloudpine." He promised.

message 11: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia "It won't help you none. My brother died if you must know," Akeelah snapped, becoming defensive once more. "As far as I know, he never harmed CloudPine, but he came home one day with a huge gash down his leg. It never healed properly because my mom didn't care and the infection took over and killed him!" Akeelah looked surprised. All the information she'd been hiding just came pouring out. She had never found someone so easy to talk to, and he wasn't even from her own realm. I can't get this comfortable with others she reminded herself.

message 12: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 01, 2016 02:24PM) (new)

Blake's eyes shadowed over. "Oh," he said simply. "I'm...sorry." Then, surprising himself, he took a step toward the border so he was standing right in front; he reached out his tail and rested it comfortingly on her shoulders for a moment then whisked it away. "Er," said the CloudPine member. "I hope that didn't, well, offend you, you know my tail...never mind." He lapsed into an uneasy and slightly embarrassed silence, looking at the dark earth.

message 13: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia Akeelah shook her head. It felt good to feel like she could trust someone, even if he was from another realm. "I-it's fine, I don't mind, really," she stammered. She stepped closer to the line she had drawn until her claws were in the divot. Akeelah took it all in, the feeling of actually enjoying the presence of someone. Maybe I could just... NO! she wrestled with her inner self while staring at Blake.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake nodded, deciding not to worry, he blinked, caught in her gaze. Then he shook his head. He shouldn't look like that at another...especially like...that.

message 15: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia "Well, I'd better go. I was sent to check the boarder so I have to go report back." Akeelah flicked her eyes from side to side. "See you again sometime?" she asked.

message 16: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 02, 2016 05:26AM) (new)

Blake nodded, he suddenly had a plan. "Yes," he said. "Mayby even around the same time tomorrow."

message 17: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia "Sure!" Akeelah got excited. "See you then!" she bounded away.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake watched her go, waiting until he could see no more of her, than pounded back to camp.

message 19: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 03, 2016 09:15AM) (new)

Blake, seeing that the sun was in the exact place it was yesterday when he met her, padded along the border, his gaze searching for Aleelah.

message 20: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia Excitement fizzled around Akeelah as she neared the boarder. She scanned the Cloudpine lands for Blake. Spotting him she raced over. "Hi! It's so good to see you again!" She called as she skidded to a halt in her half of the boarder.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake nodded, his eyes gleaming. "It's great to see you to!" He put his two front paws next to the border, looking her in the eyes. "Race you to that sycamore tree, the one by the river." He dared her, a smile forming on his lips.

message 22: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia "You're on!" Akeelah cried as she launched herself into a flat out race to the tree, her muscles rippling under her pelt. She smiled to herself, enjoying every moment.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake's eyes widened before spiriting after her. "I didn't say 'go' yet!" He laughed, his tail streaming out behind him and his feathers dancing in the wind. (You wanna win?)

message 24: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia ((Sure))

Akeelah raced on, her paws pounding on the ground, her sharp claws throwing up clots of dirt behind her. She reached the tree and with a giant leap, gracefully landed on its lowest branch. "I win!" she called down triumphantly, peering through the branches.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake tapped his tail on the tree as he whipped by a split second after her. He sledged to a halt, rocks and stone spraying out, and trotted back to her. "Wow!" He said. "Your a great runner!"

message 26: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia "Thanks!" Akeelah grinned, clearly enjoying herself. "I wish we could be this way everyday. Carefree and wild, just enjoying each other's presence..." She trailed off as a wave of sad reality washed over her features. "But I guess we can't. We live in different realms." Akeelah looked at Blake, hoping she hadn't said too much about the way she really felt.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake nodded. "Its too bad we aren't in the same ones." He agreed. "I'm glad we can be together now, atleast."

message 28: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia Akeelah dipped her head in agreement. She was lucky to have what little time she had with him. "What do you want to do now?" she asked in an attempt to get their spirits up.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake shrugged. "What do you like to do?" He asked, looking at her curiously. He wanted to know as much as he could about her, even though he knew he shouldn't think of her like...that.

message 30: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia She looked at him. "Well," she searched her thoughts for something that he wouldn't find stupid. I like sitting and watching the sun rise and set, but he'd wonder what's wrong with me... "I enjoy running long distances and hunting." Akeelah looked up from starring at her paws, waiting for what she new would be a negative reaction.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I like the dark and running. Many think I'm hard to understand...but that's because they don't take the time to know me." He ducked his head slightly, embarrassment heating in his cheeks. Well, He thought. that probaly didn't make sense.

message 32: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia Akeelah nodded. "Many are too quick to make assumptions. They judge you by what little they do know, like there's nothing left to you." She looked up to see if she was making any sense. "But then there are the few in life who take the time to know you for who you are on the inside, the part that counts..." Akeelah gazed at him hoping he couldn't read her thoughts.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake nodded as he listens, glad that someone understood. "Yes," he said. "It's great that someone understands."

message 34: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia "And it makes it all even better that it's you." Akeelah whispered.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thanks." He said with a small smile. Then he looked up at the sky and saw that the sun was beginningtomset. "Our realms will be missing us, we should get going."

message 36: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia Akeelah sighed, "You're right. I'll see if I can get this patrol again sometime. Would tomorrow work for you?" She asked hopefully.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Blake shrugged, his critical gaze thoughtful. "Mayby the next day after tomorrow because it might seem...suspicious."

message 38: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia "I didn't think of that. Yeah we'd better wait." She looked at him awhile. Blinking she turned abruptly and raced away. "Bye!" She called over her shoulder befor dissapearing into the forest.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

The male watched her leave, then, as quickly as he had come, disappeared into the brush.
