No, realistic is fine. I just thought it was ironic is all because I have been turned off of fantasy for ... damn, so long, and yeah. It really just means I'll be presenting you with less plots than I thought is all so we might have to brainstorm if we don't like these~

As the months stretch on, however, Muse B’s letters become fewer and fewer until they simply stop coming. Muse A is heartbroken but must stay the course of war for several more weeks. When Muse A finally returns home, they immediately seek out Muse B to find out what has happened. Muse A is crushed to discover that Muse B is no longer a geisha and has become promised to someone else (Muse C) through omiai (arranged marriage); Muse B still loves Muse A but does not wish to go against the wishes of their family. 2. (view spoiler)[Muse A is fortunately matched to be married to Muse B, a wealthy aristocrat of higher ranking than the patriarchs of their own family. Though publicly reputed to be charitable and of high moral character, Muse B is a boorish, cruel person behind closed doors. Muse B’s sibling, Muse C, is sympathetic about Muse A’s undesirable union and one dreary evening they confide that this is not Muse B’s first marriage; they’ve had to endure their sibling’s awful behavior since they were young and they strongly suspect that Muse B was responsible for the demise of their first betrothed. Muse A and Muse C bond over their shared disdain for Muse B and they ultimately conspire to put an end to Muse B’s wickedness. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[This isn't a plot that I ever wrote down or anything but there was this one that I did briefly with some other people that never really got off the ground and, like, basically this couple was having a blast and they were really close and he really loves her and she loves him, but then one night he ends up drunk in bed with her sister and he tells her because he can't not tell her and like she doesn't want to break up with him but she's really hurt and they're on shaky footing but still try to act like a couple even though her sister is crazy in love with her boyfriend and is always mean to her now and stuff and saying how he slept with her instead (which sucks because girl a - the girlfriend - and him never got that far together and just ugh). feels. (view spoiler)[There was also this one that I did with someone else that never got off the ground but was really fucking cool and basically it was about these rich guys that lived in this really high end mansion and they live in a world where guys basically buy wives at auctions. If they're rich enough, that is. The others have to fend for themselves. Anyway, there are girls that are snatched off the street or taken from orphanages and stuff and they grow up to basically be the perfect wife to whoever will buy them one day. Muse B is the assholey guy who lives with his brother, Muse C, and whoever at their mansion. He bought a wife a little while back, who is Muse A, and because he knows that his brother is "soft" and doesn't really like the whole idea of buying people, he buys him a bombshell himself-- Muse D. Muse D has had like two other husbands who have both died, in reality she's part of this rebel group of people that are against the whole buying people thing and she's killing off the assholes one by one. So yeah. Muse A, Muse C, and Muse D all get along, but Muse B is an asshole and they all hate him. idk i think it's pretty freaking fantastic. it's not really realistic but i added it anyway :P (hide spoiler)]

Muse A is in their 30s-40s and has been married to their college sweetheart for 12 years, though the passion between them has long since fizzled out. Muse B is a 20-something, fresh out of college, possessing a business degree and needing to get their foot in the door of the business world. Muse B is lucky enough to be hired by Muse A’s firm and becomes Muse A’s personal assistant/secretary. Muse A and Muse B exchange pleasantries from day to day, but don’t socialize much beyond the details of their business together. One evening, Muse B gets a call from Muse A asking a favor. Muse A must go to a charity gala and their spouse is not able to attend; they want Muse B to attend the event with them. Muse B is flattered and agrees to go for the sake of not letting their boss down.

Muse A sends a private car for Muse B along with an expensive outfit for them to wear. When Muse B arrives at the gala, they are blown away by the elegant venue. Champagne is flowing freely and Muse A looks attractive as ever in formal wear. Throughout the evening, Muse A reveals a playful, charming side to Muse B that they don’t get to see in the office. Muse A is flirtatious even, lightly touching the small of Muse B’s back, sliding their arm around Muse B’s shoulder, complimenting Muse B in front of business associates. Muse B knows that they shouldn’t read to heavily into Muse A’s flirtation, because Muse A is married and they work together, but it’s difficult not to get swept up.

When the gala is over, Muse A insists that they retire to the hotel room they’ve reserved upstairs until they’ve sobered up some. Muse B agrees to stay and the pair takes the elevator up to a penthouse suite, the likes of which Muse B has only seen on luxury blogs and in travel magazines. Fueled by a mutual attraction and champagne, Muse A makes a bold move on Muse B, crossing professional and marital lines. Muse B feels guilty the next morning, knowing that Muse A is married, but the attraction between boss and employee can no longer be ignored. Over the course of the following weeks, Muse A and Muse B embark on a secret affair; sharing intimate moments between business meetings, going away on overnight “business trips” together, indulging in private shopping sprees with Muse B’s platinum card.

Optional: When Muse C (Muse A’s spouse) finds questionable charges on Muse A’s credit card statement/gets a call from the credit card company about suspicious activity, they become concerned that their spouse is cheating. Muse C confronts Muse A, who denies an affair, but it doesn’t take long for Muse C to fixate on Muse B as the source of their spouse’s deception. age gap plots are my weakness, it's bad. The song of a merperson is an ethereal treat that few people at sea (and even fewer on land) have the privilege of hearing, but those who do are said to be blessed for the rest of their days.

Muse A is a merperson, born to a merman and a sea witch. Cursed by wicked blood, Muse A’s song is doomed to bring misery and death to anyone who hears it. Though it is not their fault, Muse A has been forbidden from singing to anyone (human or merperson) for as long as they live. Unable to sing freely like their seafaring kin, Muse A is an outcast and believes they will never know the joy of changing a human’s life for the better. Always lonely underwater,Muse A secretly travels to the surface in the hopes of finding companionship. Merely speaking to a human couldn’t hurt, they suppose. One afternoon, Muse A encounters Muse B strolling along the shoreline, pitching small pebbles into the surf. Fearing rejection from the first human they’ve ever seen, Muse Athinks to swim away but Muse B spots their shimmering tail and calls out to them. They keep their distance from one another as they speak, one on land and one at sea, but are too intrigued to part ways. As it gets dark and the air becomes cold, both must take their leave of the beach. Uncertain if Muse Awill ever see another human, Muse A hastily promises Muse B that they will bring them treasures if they come back. Muse B is uncertain if its wise, but they agree to return. True to their word, Muse A brings a valuable trinket from a shipwreck far below in simple exchange for Muse B’s company. As the days pass and Muse B continues to return, it seems that Muse A has finally found a friend. All will be well, as long as they don’t ever sing to Muse B. (hide spoiler)]

Purge whatever evil works it’s way into your lives and keep the world the way it should be.

A long time ago, the same “long ago” that they talk about, the Seven Kingdoms pulled together and created cities in an attempt to purge the evil from the world. They called the most skilled and trustworthy people from around the world to rope up criminals (of all kinds) and placed them in these cities.

“I been here since I was born. ‘A product of sin’ is what they like to call me, but ‘scum’ is their second favorite.”

That’s what they call them. Cities. Really they’re just prisons. If you go in, you don’t come back out again. The guards in the towers watch every edge of the city, and despite transportation in and out they rarely leave the towers. Afraid they’d be infected or something.

“We didn’t have any money! I-I was just tr-trying to get so-some food for my family!”

No one receives pity – kids and adults alike are sent to these harbors – and there is no such thing as mercy. There are a million ways to die in the city. Starvation. Lack of shelter. Weather. Ex-assassins and the physiologically damaged. Suicide. Sickness. Or maybe you’re just collateral damage.

“They don’t kill you themselves. They just wait for you to do that yourself. Don’t fall for it.”

One thing is for sure. There is a world out there that I want to see. Me and my little band of misfits … and we’re determined to see it.

It’s not just their world. It’s ours too.

-So yeah :3 Not all the cities look like the one in the picture but I figured that we could just use this one and make it easier on ourselves :D
-I want multiple characters! Three to four each, and of all different ages, because having them all be 17-20 would be boring. We could have a kid or two, someone that was once a murdered, a father/mother, someone born in the city, etc. etc. Whatever we want!
-If this is confusing think of the city as the prison that Sokka and Zuko went too in season three (the Boiling Rock). Only it’s a city / way bigger, and there are a ton of them throughout the world. Which, I don’t think, should be Earth.
-The Seven Kingdom’s I mentioned are pretty much just the government, but I didn’t want to make it all modern like that so we can figure out how that works and whatever :P (hide spoiler)]

I have to disappear for a little while so I'll read them when i get back! And i didnt see the post sorry xD I really don't mind about the whole multiple characters. Its been a while since I've done more than one pair, but I'm happy to do multiple characters if you want to! Sometimes I feel like the plot doesn't call for it, but other times I think its necessary and can help the plot develop xD also with the whole gender thing I mainly do mxf just cause its what I know since I'm straight hahaha but I have done mxm a few times and prefer that over fxf. So if you're more interested in same sex couple pairing I'd prefer mxm is thats okay with you!! :)

Aaaaaaand lastly before I go xD if you are really feeling the fantasy more please do post the plots if you'd like! Id be more than happy to read them, chances are I'll really really love one hahaha ^.^

I kind of had it in my mind that becaus Muse C is more of a 'soft' kind of guy than Muse B, and since everyone hates Must B that Muse D would set her sights on having him picked off first or something, but in the midst of it all maybe there is some romantics that spark between them? And perhaps since Muse A is a sweet kind of girl and Muse B is nothing of the sort but Muse C is, it would drive Muse C and A together eventually?

I mean I definitely agree that she would realize that Muse C isn't much of a threat like A is, but I never really knew of there should be something or nah so irk *remains unhelpful* Kind of depends on what kind of person she is? Like would she ever get mildly involved with someone like that? Ya feel?
And I like the idea of A and C coming together eventually so yass :p and like they can bond over how mean Muse B is. And I mean... I'm shaping his character rn and he is a fucking asshole. An abusive son of a bitch, this one.

3. Despite trying her hardest to stay on her husband's good side, she always seems to rub him the wrong way. Just standing their bothers him. Estelle figures that he didn't really want a wife, which explains why he bought one so late, and that she was taken in because she had to be.
4. Reads as often as she can manage. After all, it's not like she has anything else to do with her time. She's really just a trophy wife.

He always wanted to have a more normal kind of life, but when his brother bought Estelle, he also picked up Mirabelle for him. He believes his brother is an asshole, and downright cruel and inhumane for supporting such a concept. He is definitely not the kind of guy to use his name and money for his advantage, especially if it puts other people in danger. Is more of an aspiring writer than anything else, but he understands his brothers disdain for things such as the arts. It’s a real shame Raiden doesn’t give a fuck:.

.:Her parents passed away when she was quite young, so she ended up on the streets. She was snatched up by some men who had taken her to one of those factories. But before that happened she had been snatched up by a rebellion group that her mother had been a part of. This rebellion group was one that was strongly against the buying wives concept, and had Mirabelle caught by men who would take her there so she could murder each and every one of her husbands. She’s been married twice, both dead. She’s not one to be messed it and is more of a bombshell than anything else. Her husband is more of the gentle ones, so she’s set her sight on eliminating Heath first:.

Mirabelle had only been with them for a few weeks, but Estelle found great comfort in having another woman around; and she found her sister-in-law rather soothing, seeing as they had gone through a lot of the same things, that is. The factories were only a little bit better than the way they sounded—but always strict, always unforgiving … it was sometimes difficult having no one else around who understood that. Not to mention, while Heath still hated how she “dragged in the wretched smell of flowers every day”, having company made her want to show Mirabelle every last bit of how wonderful the gardens were (compared to how stuffy innards of the manor). Estelle would admit that she was just the smallest bit jealous of Mirabelle, though, as she got the nicer of the two brothers, but she would never dare to say such a thing in front of her husband. For the sake of them both. Today, however, Estelle decided not to waste her time green with envy, but pink with warmth. The sun beamed down on them, warming her bare shoulders as she wiggled her toes in the grass. “I’ve just remembered!” Estelle exclaimed, her dress fanning out in the breeze as she twisted to face her sister-in-law. “There is this wonderful little fountain just down there—I can’t believe I haven’t shown you yet.” she really couldn’t either, as she liked to spend her time there when the weather got too hot; the water let off a nice, cool mist that chilled the skin. “Come on, I’ll take you before lunch.” Estelle insisted, urging for her new sister to follow her, a glimmer in her eyes.

Heath, on the other hand, did not like the sun, nor did he like the gardens, and, frankly, he wasn’t looking forward to being dragged down to have a lunch with his wife, brother, and sister-in-law. He’d much rather avoid the inevitable conversation that his brother was bound to continue. Honestly, why Raiden couldn’t just accept his gift and be done with it was beyond Heath – and it, regrettably, made him quite irritated. He didn’t like to be irritated, though he often was, as it brought out his worst side. Not that he remembers embraces any sort of … good side, but regardless. It was a bother. He sat in his preferred study, his desk littered with papers, and pens that he kept losing track of. “Sir,” Heath lifted his eyes to the families (and business’) head clerk, “Our best course of action would be to simply …” “What? Give in? Tch. If that is your greatest suggestion, Mr. Matsui, then I’m afraid I see unemployment in your future.” “I— n-no, sir. No. Not give in, just—” “Go.” Heath tossed the documents down onto the other spread papers and gestured for the man to leave. Mr. Matsui hesitated but, knowing better, rose to his feet and quickly fled the room. “Tell Maki to bring some tea, I’m starting to get a headache.” Heath said after him, granted a short nod.

To say that Mirabelle’s marriage this time around was extremely different was an understatement. It was true that she had been married twice before; however she hadn’t shared that information with her current husband, nor would she ever. But her previously marriages included her sitting in a large, yet empty home, fully alone, and only ever spoken to when her husband had something to complain about or wanted a fight that he could easily win. But this time, she wasn’t alone. She wasn’t in an empty house. And her husband had not raised his voice at her once since she had arrived. She had only been here for a couple of weeks, and she had a feeling it was coming, but for now she felt like she was safe from that kind contact. This however was the first time she was in a house with two men, and another wife. A girl just like her. A child who had her life stolen from her so she could live this life. Estelle seemed very sweet, and had been nothing but kind to Mirabelle since her arrival. Her husband however was a different story. He seemed like a complete ass. Worse than Mira’s previous husbands. It was their behaviour that had gotten them killed, and Mirabelle was playing on delivering Heath the same fate. For now, however, he chose to enjoy her time with Estelle as they stood in the gardens, the grass soft under her feet, the sun bright and warm, shining down on them as Mirabelle adjusted her braid. “Remembered what?” Mira asked, turning her head to look at Estelle with a raised eyebrow. “A fountain? That sounds beautiful. I’d love to see it!” Mira told her. This girl was her sister-in-law now. And even if they wouldn’t be for too long, Mira planned to enjoy it while it lasted. A smile formed on her lips as she smoothed her dress before she followed Estelle, noticing the glimmer in her eye; it was truly beautiful.

Raiden could not fathom nor comprehend the behaviour of his brother. He had often heard of men in the same position as he and his brother of buying women as wives from factories that had snatched them off streets and orphanages, but Raiden had never been one for such atrocities. He found it inhumane and downright cruel. So when his brother Heath came home one day with his own wife, and then a wife for him, to say he was beyond furious was an understatement. Raiden had half a mind to take Mirabelle back to the factory, but after intense thought he realised that she could end up much worse places; places with men who would abuse her and hurt her. But it broke his heart to know he had a women because she was bought, and that Estelle had to be married to someone as horrible as Heath. Raiden leaned against the door on the other side of the study that his brother was in, listening to their conversation. As Mr Matsui opened the door to leave, Raiden smiled at him, “Mr Matsui, good to see you.” He said with a warm smile, shaking the mans hand before he entered the room, closing the door behind him and leaning against it. “You know Heath, if you learned to get off your ass and do something for yourself for a change instead of getting other people to do it or taking the easy way out, maybe you wouldn’t be such a prick.” He muttered, shaking his head. “And it’s a real shame that you have a headache, because it’s about to get a lot worse.” He said firmly, narrowing his eyes as he looked at Heath. Raiden knew that his brother was done with this conversation, but Raiden hadn’t quite expressed himself enough.

Estelle, unaware of her sister’s rather violent background, smiled in delight as they began off into the garden. She could still see the house above the trees and fancy hedging and such, but it felt as if she didn’t have to worry so much the further away they wandered. “It’s just around this corner here.” Estelle explained over her shoulder. She clapped a hand on her head to keep her summer hat from dwindling off as she raced around said corner. Her dress snagged on a few stray branches sticking out of the hedge, but she tugged it away and found the fountain just beyond. It was without a path, sitting there grandly in the middle of a little, round clearing. Orange trees rose upward around the perimeter, flowers of many different colors blooming in the grass. The fountain burbled, the water light and translucent in the light of day. “Some days when Heath is especially busy I’ll eat out here by myself.” Estelle admitted with a small smile, releasing her hold on her hat. She’d learned to say her husband’s name without flinching as quickly as she could after arriving, as doing so made him rather unpleasant to be around. He didn’t particularly enjoy having lunch with her, nor his brother, but he refused less often than she would have ever expected.

Heath let out a long sigh at the sight of his brother – his thoughts exactly; if his headache was bad now than his brother was not about to make him feel any better. In fact, the pressure in his head had risen in just the few seconds that Raiden has been standing there, and not just because he knew what his brother wanted to talk about. Heath narrowed his eyes at his brother, looking dark and menacing even in the soft strips of light shining in through the parted curtains. “I’d like to remind you, brother,” Heath spat. “That you live in this house under the family inheritance – which is prone to run out – and the money that I am earning. Getting on my bad side will not do you any good; I’m certainly not above releasing my brother from the manor’s care.” He swiveled in his chair, facing one of his book shelves in thought, though he looked tired and agitated (not a combination that anyone in the manor enjoyed seeing). “If you’ve come to fetch me for lunch, I’d be delighted if you left and came back minus the stick up your ass. It would do wonders for my health.” Of course, Heath got to his feet anyway, abandoning the mess of papers on his desk. He did plenty for the business, Raiden just refused to see it. Especially recently, since he was so upset with Heath for doing him a favor. Honestly, what a brat.

Mirabelle happily followed Estelle through the beautiful and tranquil gardens. They were truly something to see, something special and so calming, from the tall hedges whose leaves were surprisingly soft, to the lush green grass and of course the stunning flowers that were scattered and filled the place. In all her marriages, Mira had never seen something quite so stunning. She also knew that Heath hated when Estelle came out here because he was apparently allergic to flowers? Mira would never pass up a chance to piss someone like Heath off. As Estelle led her through the mass of flowers and hedging, Mirabelle gently lifted her dress slightly to prevent the hem from getting dirty, and to try and stop it from tearing from twigs and branches that stuck out in some places. When her eyes landed on the magnificent water feature in front of her, they widened and she was truly struck with awe at the beauty and serenity this area had to offer. “Wow.” She whispered softly as she moved towards it, leaning over slightly to dip her hand into the cool and refreshing water. “It’s beautiful Estelle.” Mirabelle said as she looked at her sister, a smile on her lips. “Well then, we’ll just have to change that, wont we? Whenever he’s busy, I’ll eat out here with you.” She told her with a warm and soft smile as she took a deep breath, taking in the feel of the area.

Raiden couldn’t help but scoff, a bitter laugh escaping his lips as he glared at his older brother. “Oh wow, being released from the mighty Delgado inheritance? What a tragedy!” Raiden exclaimed sarcastically. “Oh please, Heath we all know what you’re not above.” He watched him turn his chair around and Raiden couldn’t help but feel his blood boil. He wanted so badly to put his fist to this smug pricks cheek. But unlike his brother, Raiden was above that, and wouldn’t become the heartless monster Heath had. “And you know something else? As much as I wish you would ‘release me’ from this fucked up mess, we all know you wouldn’t. Because then what would you do? Everyone around here hates you. Estelle, the people who work here, and not to mention the people you do business with. Everyone here would be happy to see you wind up dead, and we all know how much you hate the people you do business with too. And apparently Estelle as well,” He turned around, making his way to the door. “If you got rid of me you’d end up all alone, and we all know that’s something you’re afraid of, or else you wouldn’t have bought yourself a wife.” Raiden grabbed the handle, pulling open the door. “Oh Heath, I’d love to get you some lunch, but I wouldn’t trust myself to not put poison in it. In fact, I wouldn’t even trust the cooks to not put poison in your food! Like I said. Everyone here would love to see you dead.” Raiden spat back, stepping out of the room and closing the door behind him. He cleared his throat, straightening up his shirt before he moved down the hall. Where was Estelle and Mirabelle?

Estelle blinked big, round eyes at Mirabelle, but the surprise soon dissolved into excitement. “Oh, how wonderful!” the girl laughed with glee, clapping her hands together and scrunching her eyes closed. “I’ve only ever shown one other person this place: it was Raiden, but he’s busy a lot, too, so I’m so happy to finally have someone to spend time with out here.” It was true, too, all of it. She hadn’t meant to show him or something, but he was out and about one day and she had just discovered this brilliant little piece of the garden and, well, she just sort of dragged him along for the ride. Though Heath was an awful person and hated her exuberance, Estelle didn’t let it get to her. Not until he rose his voice or glared in her direction or, on rare occasions, let his anger get the better of him and lash out at her. Only then would she quiet herself. But! He wasn’t around right now, at least not yet, and so she shucked the frightening image of him out of her mind and came forward to settle on the edge of the fountain. She twisted around and plunked her legs into the water, a chill running up her body and creating goosebumps. Her dress was a short one, made for the summer, wispy and light, and so she was able to brush it up before it even hit the cool liquid. “It’s chilly. Feels weird since the sun is so hot.” she smiled.

His brother’s words were fickle and left him with, as predicated, a skull splitting headache. Though, Heath would admit that the small lift of his lips was genuine; for all Raiden’s flaws, seeing him act as though what he said would hurt Heath was rather amusing. No. Heath knew well that he was less than liked in the household, but he also knew that he signed these people’s pay-checks, and they wouldn’t get anything but unemployment if he keeled over. Their names certainly weren’t in his will, only Raiden’s (as per his mother’s request). If he died, Raiden would be the first on the investigators list, and how unfortunate for the poor baby boy that his disgust in his older brother is no secret. “See you for lunch, then.” He said fleetingly, his brother disappearing only seconds later. It was then that Maki came up the stairs, the tin platter in her hands rattling just slightly as her hands shook. She eased her pace as Raiden came angrily down the hallway and steeled her grip, giving the young master a soft nod of respect. “M-mr. Delgado, I think the cooks have almost finished preparing lunch,” she said, following him with her eyes. “But I’m bringing some tea to your brother if … if you’d like some?” Maki had been with the house for only a little longer than Estelle had been, but whenever she was made to go do something for Heath she got shaky. He had been in an awful mood the week of her arrival and he’d slapped several plates from her hand in anger.

For some reason, Mirabelle felt her heart swell and a warm sensation began to fill her body as she saw the delighted and happy look on Estelle’s face. This was new territory for her, but it had always been a rule to never make connections with anyone in the house, as it would only make it harder to murder the husband. Feelings clouded judgement, and made people question what they were doing. Would that happen to her if she got to close to Estelle? Not that Estelle really liked Heath anyway, but still. And even though Raiden wasn’t as upbeat about the whole buying concept as his brother was, he was still on the list and would suffer the same fate as Heath. Was this dangerous for her? Still, even if it was she wanted to make Estelle’s being here a bit easier. After all, out of the two of them it was no secret that she got the worst husband. Estelle was just like Mira, and Mira would do what she could to make her sister happy. “Raiden’s been here?” She asked as she looked back at the water, a smile still on her lips. “It’s truly beautiful here, I’d be more than happy to spend time with you here.” Mira told her as she lowered herself onto the edge of the fountain, bringing her legs up and crossing them on the edge. Her dress, although made from light fabric, was a little longer than Estelle, and she didn’t really want to get her legs wet. She took in a deep breath as she looked at the sun. “It is beautiful though,” She murdered. “Any idea of how long we have until we need to go back for lunch?” She asked.

Raiden moved down the hallway, his hands balled into fists as his blood boiled under his skin. He was never really like this, unless he was with his brother. He was so rude, cruel and pig-headed. He hated him. He really truly did. Whether he was his brother or not, his relationship with Heath had never really felt like brotherly love, and it sure as hell wasn’t going to any time soon. He paused for a moment when he saw Maki coming up the stairs, biting his lip gently ashe watched the way her hands shook with the tray, its contents rattling slightly. He took a deep breath, clearly his throat and relaxing his hands. He hated the person Heath turned him into, and the last thing he wanted to do was frighten Maki the way he did. He turned to face Maki completely, a soft smile forming on his lips as he listened to her, nodding. “Thank you very much Maki.” He believed in treating those who worked in the manor like friends as opposed to employees. He rubbed the back of his neck before shaking his head. “No, no. I’m fine thank you.” He said to her offer for tea. He glanced over his shoulder before back at her. “Just be careful when you take it into him. He’s in a worse mood than usual.” He warned her gently. “By the way, you haven’t seen Mirabelle and Estelle anywhere, have you?”

“Only once.” Estelle confirmed with a nod. “Well, with me anyway. Perhaps he comes here in secret… to hide from the staff.” The girl laughed softly, thinking how funny that might be. After all, she came here in secret for quite some time before dragging Raiden along with her. It wasn’t like she wanted to keep this place hidden, really, just that she didn’t ever seem to have anyone to bring here when she came. But now she did! She had her sister-in-law! Whom she was very grateful for. Estelle turned her gaze towards said girl, leaning back on her palms and feeling the smooth surface of sanded stone. “None.” She said, lifting her shoulder as if it were unfortunate. She was glad to be able to have lunch for Mirabelle and not just her husband, but not even the idea of food brightened her day much anymore. “Though,” Estelle paused, tipping her cheek towards her shoulder, and shutting her eyes, letting the sun warm her. “I do suspect that we don’t have much time. If they can find us, that is.” A small smile tipped her lips skyward, but the young woman kept her eyes shut all the same.

The gentleness of the young master’s tone eased her rattling muscles, but only for a moment. Heath was in a bad mood; she had suspected as much, seeing as Mr. Matsui had looked upset, but she had tried not to give it much thought. Heath enjoyed tea, so perhaps it was simply a remedy to keep his focus steady as he worked. Right? Of course she had been wrong, hoping for something that so obviously shouldn’t be hoping for … ridiculous. Maki gave a short nod and held the edges of the tray hard in her hands, willing herself to hold onto the fleeting calm that the youngest son carried around with him. No wonder Mrs. Delgado could remain so upbeat after being married to that behemoth – she had Raiden there to straighten things out when they got out of hand. It wasn’t a secret that the brothers didn’t get along well, but Maki suspected that Heath did care for his sibling … in his own way. He would listen to him sometimes, or at least be calmed enough to turn and walk away. It didn’t strengthen their relationship, but it did work. “Last I saw them they were out in the gardens.” Maki said, peering over Master Raiden’s shoulder at the nearest window. “Not far, sir.” she assured.
