M Beal JANUARY

1. The Butlerian Jihad (Legends of Dune, #1) by Brian Herbert by Brian Herbert (no photo) and Kevin J Anderson (no photo)
Finish date: January 23
Genre: Science Fiction
Rating: C
Review: A bit of a disappointment. I can tell by the writing that Brian Herbert does not have the talent of his father. That being said. This book does give interesting background to the Dune universe, especially the “Free Men.”

M Beal 2. At the Mountains of Madness and Other Tales of Terror by H.P. Lovecraft by H.P. Lovecraft H.P. Lovecraft
Finish date: January 24
Genre: Horror
Rating: B
Review: I have enjoyed Lovecraft for a long time and was very happy to finally get my hands on an actual paperback copy of this book. (Love little used book stores) In a nutshell the it is a geologist leads a group of scientists that go on a antarctic expedition and find something evil there. Later there is a second expedition and the geologist revels what the know about the place.
