Queen Dreamstealer's Stardust's pavilion

The NightWing queen has her own for NightWing matters but she can consult Cloudberry if needed

Queen Dreamstealer paced around her dark pavilion area in tight, angry circles. It seemed lately that everything and everyone bothered her. I don't know why I seem to hate everyone lately, but I do. the queen thought to herself. She continued to pace, wearing scratch marks in the stone that was the floor from her endless circling.

Starwatcher peeked in "Mother?" She stepped in "What's wrong?"

The Queen's heart melted at the sight of her daughter. "Come in Starwatcher," she beckoned to the young dragon. "What would happen if I told you something that I'm not sure I have the courage to tell anyone else?" Dreamstealer asked, hoping her daughter wouldn't think the worst of her for not wanting to confide in her dragons.

Starwatcher looked up at her with wide eyes "I wouldnt mind." She sounded confused "Why the secrecy?"

Dreamstealer sighed. "I want your honesty on this one. Do you really think that I lead this tribe of dragons the way I should? Am I to hard or to lenient?" The Queens eyes grew troubled as she shared the last piece of information. "Also, I hatched another egg last night, and the dragonet has dissapeared."

Starwatcher fidgeted "I think you're a wonderful queen." She said, looking up at her mother. Her talons scratched the ground "A dragonet disappeared?"

"Yes. Mine did." Dreamstealer nodded grimly. Her eyes misted over as she fought back her emotions. "Will you help me find her?" she asked, hopeful.

Starwatcher snuggled next to her "Anything for you Mother."

Dreamstealer closed her eyes. Oh, how she loved Starwatcher. "Thanks dear," she said softly.

Starwatcher wrapped her wings around her mother. "When do we start?" She asked eagerly

"Well let's see," she peaked out of the cave to check the amount of daylight. "We could start now, but I have no idea where to start!" The Queen heaved a sigh as she dejectedly flicked small pebbles across the floor.

Starwatcher peered back out "Me neither. We could search Jade mountain.."

"Good idea dear," the Queen agreed.

Dreamstealer sat in the middle of her palace.

Darkfrost went inside, feeling a tad uneasy. their last parting hadn't ended well, as she had been unhappy that he had wanted to leave so much, but he had been adamant that his leaving would make things easier on her. but he had to return, if only to make sure things were alright. Flamefrost and Magus both followed him, both looking around as they did.

"Darkfrost," the Queen greeted him coolly, "What brings you to my kingdom? And who are those two?" She looked suspiciously on Flamefrost and Magus.

"these are my friends, they've helped me out after i.....left." he said, feeling like this was a mistake. Magus was staring at the Queen, although he had a confused look on his face. Magus, despite being part Nightwing, had never actually met the Queen and even considered himself a free dragon, beholden to none, and he was obviously trying to figure out how a dragon smaller than him could possibly rule anyone.

The queens icy glare traveled to rest on Magus. "You have Nightwing blood, don't you? But your not a full Nightwing, I can tell." Dreamstealer shifted her wings around a little. "So Darkfrost, you run away and when you come crawling back to me, you bring a half-breed and some other dragon I don't know back with you?" She shook her head, "I'll never understand..."

Starwatcher sat by her side, curiously watching the newcomers

"you'll never understand wear i get my nerve? considering my parentage you'd have a better idea than mine!" he snapped at her, looking very much like his father for a moment. Magus glared at the queen and wondered if he'd get away with blowing up her pavilion. at that thought his powers activated and he heard a boom from outside, quickly followed by a great deal of swearing from the guards. he grinned sheepishly as his friends glared at him, "sorry! still can't control my powers still!"

Flamefrost nearly ruined his glare by laughing, but he swallowed it down and kept a straight face. but the looks on their faces was priceless. didn't expect an animus cross-breed did you? you stuffy snobs! he thought to himself, although he didn't bother keeping it from his face.

Dreamstealer was thrown backwards at the force of Magus's powers. Gathering herself and scrambling to her feet she raced over to Starwatcher. "Are you alright?" She asked, nervously inspecting her daughter for injuries. Stepping in front of her daughter to protect her she gave her visitors a piercing glare. "You need to leave right now." The Queen spoke evenly and without any show of emotion. "I cannot have you three ruining my kingdom and posing a threat and potential danger to my dragons. Please leave willingly, I don't want to have to hurt you." She looked at them sternly, gesturing the threesome to go.

((it was outside the pavilion, and it was very minor. not much damage, except to the guards pride, and they might not sleep well for several days. certainly no flying through the air.))

((Still, she's a proud Queen that tends to overreact :) ))

Starwatcher glare at the two dragons from under the the queens wing, "What do you want!" She said

Magus, finally annoyed, glared at them. the guards had come in to make sure the queen was safe and pointed their weapons at him. he ignored them and said, "i don't know about them but i'd like to find a family who doesn't completely despise their cross-breed children! you couldn't have hated his father, he's pretty solid evidence that you obviously liked him!" the guards were nervous, apparently one did not discuss her affair, at least not in ear shot of the queen.

Dreamstealer looked upon Magus with a steely eye. "I want you to know, I do not dispize anyone except enemies of my kingdom. I would love it if my children would come and live here with me, but they must be willing to follow the rules and guidelines. They must also pick up any traditions and rituals of the Nightwings." The Queen looked down slightly. "But I'd understand if they don't want to. I'm not the easiest dragon to get along with..." Her voice trailed off on a sad note.

"mother it's not that. i left because everyone didn't respect you as they should." Darkfrost said, "i didn't like the whispering behind your back or the ugly things others said because you let me live. i left so that you'd have an easier time ruling. i'm not very good at the whole politely taking abuse thing anyway."

Dreamstealer's eyes watered. All the things I never knew! But know I understand, she was shocked that he'd left for her. "I just assumed you wanted to get away from me. I never knew..." She shook her head. She had to ask and at least know the truth. The Queen took a deep breath, "Do you want to come back?" She asked nervously. "I'll understand if you don't but I just have to know!"

"i'd love to Mother, but my friends need me. i'm pretty much to only one that knows how to be polite and these-" he paused to think of a polite way of saying idiots, "-well my friends aren't exactly the most polite dragons. plus i'm learning so much from traveling, i'm hoping that i'll learn enough to eventually return here and able to hold my own." he cautiously went up to his mother, hoping she would understand him.

She nodded, "if you're needed elsewhere, I understand."

Starwatcher looked up at her "He's my sibling?"

Dreamstealer looked down at Starwatcher. "Yes, he is. I'm sorry for not having told you before, but I thought it would be best if you didn't know. I didn't think you'd have wanted to know I might have sent your brother away. That isn't the case, but it's the way everyone took it." She hoped that Starwatcher wouldn't become offended at the lack of information that had been given to her.

Starwatcher frowned "It would have been better if you had told me." She sounded hurt

Dreamstealer sighed, "I realize that now. I shouldn't have hid so much from you. You deserved to know because he is your sibling." She frowned hard. "I'm sorry Starwatcher."

Starwatcher looked down at the ground. "It's okay."

Just looking at her daughter, the Queen could tell everything was definitely not okay, and it wouldn't be for awhile. She had broken the trust Starwatcher had in her and it would take a long time to rebuild. "What can I do to make things right?" She asked.

Starwatcher looked up at her, her eyes sad. "I don't know," she admitted softly

"how about some food?" Magus said, in response all his belly gave a cavernous growl, one that caused the guards to jump in fright. Darkfrost's and Flamefrost's both growled, although not nearly as loudly. Darkfrost had enough sense too look sheepish, the others were too hungry to care.

"Of course," Dreamstealer nodded to a servant nearby who brought in heaps of all the best food imaginable. "Eat up boys," she ordered seeing the looks of hunger on their faces. "How longs it been since you ate?"

"two and half months? we were trying to find Flamefrost's parents and sometimes we were too busy to actually find anything to eat." Darkfrost said before he stabbed some meat with a claw and promptly threw down his gullet. it was a nifty trick he'd learn from Magus, cram as much food as you can and at worst you'd only have to worry about a tummy ache but as Magus always said, rather a belly ache from too much food than one from no food! he watched as the others dug in with gusto. he could have sworn he heard Magus actually take a chunk out of the plate in his haste but that might have been his imagination.

The Queen was shocked. "Two and a half months!? You could've swung by and gotten something here!" As she watched, the three crammed meat chunk after meat chunk down their throats. "Bring in more!" She bellowed. A dragon walked in with several platters of meat balanced all over. Setting them down, she gestured to the threesome to continue.

Darkfrost paused to catch his breath, and to stop Magus from actually eating a plate by smacking his snout with his tail. it barely slowed the bottomless pit down, but it did keep him from eating the plate. "don't worry mother we would have stopped sooner or later. Magus there once went six months with no food and little water. it's why he's um-" he stopped because there wasn't a polite way to say his friend was now a glutton.

Starwatcher didn't know if she should throw up or look away in their presence. Especially since it was rude to their guests. She opted with looking at a spot next to Darkfrost's head.

"if you need to go we'd understand. i was the same when i met them but you get used it it and even see the reasoning behind it once you go awhile without constant food." Darkfrost said before he went back to eating, although quite a bit slower this time.

"Leave when you're ready." The Queen caught Starwatcher's eye and raised her eyebrows sending her a message. They sure don't have many manners!

Magus, far from being stupid, noticed this and decided to push the limits by belching as loud as he could. thankfully he did in the direction of one of the guards, unfortunately said guard passed out. Darkfrost and Flamefrost both paused to stare as Magus simply shrugged his shoulders and finished eating.
