-Lord Edmure now was the one to set Hoster afire with an arrow. He missed his first time, blaming the wind. The second time he missed, Brynden offered to do it, but Edmure said he could. He missed yet another time. It was so awkward for all, and probably Edmure felt like shit. When the boat was almost out of range, Brynden hit the boat with the arrow. Even if Edmure was sad or mad or whatever, I think he should have taken his sister’s hand. But Brynden did, and I liked that. Their relationship is really good, and I like him a lot.
-It seems Catelyn can’t mourn any loved one. Now she thought Edmure had to be a lord, and they were at war, so she just couldn’t seat and cry. It’s not healthy at all though. She thinks it was harder for Edmure, who left a lot of things unsaid, and it’s sad. He is not as strong as he seems. Edmure cried, and asked Catelyn if their father asked for him before he died. I forgot Catelyn was with him when Hoster died, and why would Hoster ask only for him? It’s not like his the only kid he had. Anyway, Catelyn said he did, but Hoster said Tansy. Whoever this Tansy is, she was lot in Hoster’s mind lately. Lysa didn’t even replied, what a bitch.
-They had no word from King’s Landing either, Catelyn thinks they should be there by now. She had no way of knowing what happened to Brienne and Jaime on the way. They talk a little bit with the Freys, and Walder apparently knows what it was like to be young and fall in love. Catelyn doesn’t think he said so, or that he did. It’s good Robb is happy around the Westerling and he laughs and smiles a lot. But it’s not good she thinks she makes him sad. But it’s not hard to understand why she thinks so.
-Robb and Catelyn go to a walk, and she can tells is hard for him to be a good king, but he tries. When he heard about Duskendale and how he lost a third of his foot, he only asked why there, he wasn’t mad. This was all so sudden for him though. He tells Catelyn he should have traded Jaime for Sansa when she said so, and marry her to Loras. Robb then tells her something went wrong with Sansa, and Catelyn thinks she died as well. She finds out she is now married to Tyrion. She gets mad, saying he promised to give Sansa ad Arya back, and since she doesn’t know Tyrion or what happened, it makes sense she thinks he wanted to marry her daughter.
-Robb is not dumb, he knows Sansa is now the heir to Winterfell with Bran and Rickon dead to the world. Catelyn goes kinda mad thinking she would lose Robb as well, she thinks she lost her entire family, and he has all she has left. In this mood, she tells Robb is not such a bad idea to bend the knee. She even says the Greyjoys would kill Jeyne, trying to make Robb consider it. Even though Robb won every battle he is losing the war, but he won’t bend the knee to those who killed his father, and asks Catelyn if she forgot. She knows he is hurt and all, but I don’t think it was a good thing to say. Of course she didn’t forget! She just doesn’t want to lose all she has left. Catelyn almost strikes him for the first time, he crossed a line there.
-Robb is not so mad it seems, he wanted her to go to the dinner they would talk with the Freys. Walder got a letter from his grandsons, who are at the Dreadfort. They find out Winterfell burnt, and of course the letter said Theon did it. The Freys also said Rodrik is dead. Catelyn saw Robb crying, it’s just blow after blow for him. The women and the children were hiding, and now are all safe in the Dreadfort. I don’t know how much of that is true. They can’t tell what happened with Theon, and we don’t know yet either. The ones who lived were taken by Bolton’s bastard, and even though they don’t discuss it a lot, they say Bolton might have another bastard they didn’t know of, Ramsay is dead to the world for now.
-Frey accepted a marriage, but Robb should apologize in Walder’s face for breaking his vows. Catelyn doesn’t like that a lot. The girl Edmure would marry was named Roslin, a maid of 16. Edmure wanted to see the girl first, but the Freys said he had to accept in that moment. I bet he was afraid the girl was ugly. Walder wanted the marriage to happen at once, they were at war, he was old and Robb broke his vow. The Freys go for a moment, and Edmure said he should be able to pick a girl, like Robb had the option to do. Well, no. They are not in a position to demand. Robb said he won’t force him to marry, but Catelyn says they have to agree. Robb wants to go back north after the weeding. Lol at Catelyn thinking thankfully Walder’s wife was alive, although I think she would have said yes for her son, even though she wouldn’t be happy about it. Brynden tells Edmure he should it to amend what happened in the Battle of the Fords, and Edmure accepts. A marriage is not such a high price for an army, and they desperately need the Frey’s support.
