Nagwa Malik (nagwamalik) | 43 comments “Ali moved stealthily towards the rather broken down old farm. There were two guards, taking turns. He’d timed them. Now he was ready to move in. He saw the first guard turn up as the other disappeared behind. Quietly, he moved slowly towards the guard, then lunged at him and held him in a vice grip, until he collapsed. Laying him down, he moved in.
Leaning by the wall, adjusting to the semi-dark barn, Ali sighted another man checking the chains. He scrutinised the figure to find there were two figures. One chained up, the other the guard checking the chains. He moved towards the guard, and grabbed him. The struggle was brief and the guard went down, unconscious. Ali looked around as he got hold of the chains and tried to break Tanya free. He got out a small tool kit and opened it, getting out lock picks and jiggled first one and then the other bracelet open, setting Tanya free.
‘Can you walk?’ he asked her, holding her up.
She nodded and they sprinted towards the door only to find another guard come up just as they were almost out. With one swift move Ali backhanded the guard who landed on the ground with a thud.
They ran towards the dirt lane and hid in corn field. Ali’s cell buzzed.
‘Yeah? Okay, we’re coming.’
He held Tanya once more and they sprinted through the field and towards a road where a car was waiting. A beat down looking car.
The door opened from inside and Ali helped Tanya in.
‘Where did you get this thing?’
‘Rental,’ replied Burke.
‘It better not be a lemon,’ Ali closed the door and lunged for the passenger door at the front. ‘Go!’
Before he could close the door, Burke was driving off.”
