I'm Tessa (a/k/a Book Concierge). Married, no kids, no pets. I grew up in Texas but have lived in Wisconsin since I came to Marquette University.
I work in healthcare administration for a group of pediatric surgeons.
In addition to reading, I like gardening, travel, theater (especially musical theater), and cooking (and eating).
My user name came from one of my F2F book clubs. I was getting frustrated that no one else seemed to be suggesting books for future reads. I was trying to encourage them to offer some titles when one of them said, "But you're our Book Concierge!"

I'm Ken. I tend not to take the world too seriously so in an intro like this, I might say I have too many of everything: wife (1), kids (2), grandkids (5) and dogs (2). Of course, I wouldn't be telling the truth... two dogs is about right!I'm an early-retired IT person who loves reading, writing, walking, technology, movies, puzzles, fun AND ALL OF MY WONDERFUL FAMILY!
Hi Everyone,
I'm Diana, a Texan gal.
I usually carry a book in my hand and a couple in my purse where I go. ( a fan of big purses).
I belong to several book clubs and book groups. I have a big love of reading challenges!
Besides reading, I love cooking, gardening, playing percussion in a Saba group with my husband, going camping and hanging out with my little granddaughter. :D

Hi Everyone!I'm Patty. Grew up in Minnesota but am living in North Carolina now.
I have always loved reading.
My daughter got me involved with the book clubs a couple years ago. I love the challenges in the clubs. They have expanded my reading genres.
I started going to antique stores and collect old books. Which also brought me back to some classics.
Book Concierge wrote: "Hi, Patty ... glad you found us!"Thanks! You have some great challenges. I hope I will meet these challenges.
Hello--my name is Beverly and I'm a bookoholic!! :) I belong to 7 book clubs at my local library and I'm not sure why I'm looking to add more challenges to my already stretched to the max reading time but this sounds like fun. I'm a 66 year old retired Medical Records Administrator with a husband, 5 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 cats. I also enjoy needlework, cooking, movies and theater. Glad to meet everyone.
Book Concierge wrote: "Welcome to a fun group, Beverly!"Thank you Book--I am checking out the Quarterly Challenge against what I already have from the library to read. Think I'll give it a try!!
Refugee from Shelfari. Looking for a port in the storm. I've always read. I enjoy fiction, non-fiction, biographies, science fiction, etc. I'm a 67 year old lawyer living in Richmond, Virginia but I was born and raised in Iowa.
Hi everyone. I'm Tanya. I have always loved reading and usually do not travel without a book. I love animals and have a wonderful beagle mix who likes to curl up with me when I read. Aside from reading I love animals, crochet, hiking, and long complicated/cooperative board games. Looking forward to lots of fun here!
Hello, I am Cora. I am a stay at home mom from Maryland (outside of DC). I have three kids that keep me busy with their various activities, but when I get a chance I enjoy reading and photography. I am looking forward to meeting new people and seeing old friends.
Hi everyone......I'm Lynda and my avatar is my dog Oliver, I'm retired and have the opportunity to read as much as I like. I especially enjoy reading challenges and they've helped me expand the genres I read. Looking forward to participating in this group.
Book Concierge wrote: "Welcome, Olivermagnus (and your little dog, too!) ..."Hi everybody - I'm Sushicat and I've been looking in on you regularly on Shelfari but have withstood the temptation to join in yet another round of challenges. I'm folding...
Hi! This is Coloreader, also from Shelfari. I will be sixty years old this year and have been married over 31 years. Yes, I live in Colorado. I worked in a high school as an attendance secretary, and in an elementary school in the library and as the Great Books facilitator. I have three grown children, and one extremely cute and smart granddaughter, Adalai, who is 15 months old. I decided to join here because the challenges looked fun and I always read more when I'm doing one.
Hi! This is Licha-olivia, happily following you from Shelfari and have always enjoyed the challenges. I was born & raised in California. My husband is a veteran, so we decided to live in Texas when he retired. I'm an elementary teacher and I always carry a book with me.
Hi, I'm Jenn. I'm following over from Shelfari. Having a hard time to getting used to it here. I'm a homeschooling mom to 4. Reading is my 'me' time.
Hi Olivermagus, Sushicat, Marti, Licha-Olivia, JennH
So glad you'll are here. Welcome to the group! :D

Hello everyone, I'm Simply D, just call me D. I'm from the Shelfari group and I look forward to discussing books with the old members as well as the new members from Goodreads. My cupcake pic is slightly different but it's still me.

Wow. We have a lot in common. I am also a Shelfari transplant. I live in Minnesota.
Hi all,I'm Bev (PennsyLady (Bev C))
Can you tell I'm from Pennsylvania?
I'm a refugee from Shelfari
I'm a retiree from a hosp. micro lab
For many reasons, my reading was minimal in the past.
Now....
I'm a returnee to the wonderful world of "books"

What part of Minnesota? I am from Int'l Falls.
Hi my name is Marjorie. I live in Ohio with my husband of 46 years. I have 3 children, 5 grandsons and 3 cats. I'm a retired nurse. I love to read!
I've been floating around this group since January but just realized that I haven't introduced myself. I'm Carol and I live in Battle Creek, Michigan. My husband of 54 years this August and I spend the summer and fall attending Irish and Scottish festivals around Michigan and at least one Celtic Thunder concert. My favorite singing group ❤. I was Education Program and Volunteer coordinator at the local Zoo for 28 years. I am now retired. I had the best job in the entire world...meet some of the most dedicated people in the volunteers...got to work with the animals and got to teach without being stuck in a classroom all day. I always have a book with me. My husband thinks it's grafted.

Carol, if you ever come "across the pond" to Milwaukee's Irish Fest, let me know. Would love to meet you in person.

She gets around well and there is someone that checks on her during the day but I just don't want to chance leaving her alone for too long a time.
Olivermagnus wrote: "Carol, it's great to be able to talk to you on two different sites!"You too. This is what I said I wasn't going to do:) You getting ready to come home?

Yes.....April 20th. Isn't that your birthday?
I wasn't going to either but I like the reading challenges they offer here. I figure I can move back and forth between the two sites. There's no way we could do the Mystery and Suspense Plus discussions here.
BC, I've been checking out your recently-formed groups and couldn't resist following you here from the Crazy Challenge Connection. I'm sorry I never joined Shelfari since it seems that was a popular group with lots of great people. But I'm glad to "meet" you here now. I'm not retired yet, but I am a 60-something with 4 grown children and one grandchild. Never enough time to read, but I always have a book (or my Kindle) in my pocketbook...just in case. I look forward to getting to know all you kindred spirits.
