I started this thread because I have become quite the mystery gobbler. I know that some of the ladies have talked about Berger and Mitry series by David Handler. I had the pleasure to read the newest book in the series and I loved it.

Feel free to recommend some other good IR mysteries you've read and enjoyed.

Like you, I love IR mysteries. I have read all of the Berger and Mitry books, can't wait for the next one.

Lucky You by Carl Hiaasen is really good, it's funny, quirky and somewhat of a mystery.

I will give you the heads up if I run across any IR mysteries and please let me know if you find any...LOL

I love Judith Smith-Levin books, she passed away in 2009.

Her heroine is a detective named, Starletta Duvall, her love interest is a white doctor by the name of Dr. Mitchell Grant and Starletta's partner Dominic Paresi is Italian.

These books are only available in paperback.

Do Not Go Gently (Starletta Duvall Mystery #1)
The Hoodoo Man (Starletta Duvall Mystery #2)
Green Money (Starletta Duvall Mystery #3)
Reckless Eyeballin' (Starletta Duvall Mystery #4)

Happy Reading!

She passed much too soon. This is one of the best series I have ever read. Amazing chemistry between the hero and heroine; and the whodunit aspects of the plots were on point. Really well crafted stories.

I do have a copy of Do Not Go Gently by Judith Smith-Levin . Maybe I should read it sooner rather than later.

I was aware of Levin's Starletta Duvall series. God rest her soul.

Justine | 1363 comments One of the first books that I ever read with an IR relationship was The Shipkiller. The Shipkiller by Justin Scott .

It wasn't a crime mystery tale.. More along the lines of an adventure

Never heard of this book. Will definitely check it out.

TinaNoir | 1457 comments Frankie Y. Bailey's Lizzie Stuart mystery series. First book is Dead Man's honor. A Dead Man's Honor (A Lizzie Stuart Mystery #1) by Frankie Y. Bailey . It is a cozy mystery. Lizzie is a college prof. Her love interest is a college cop. It is a mystery series so the romance is secondary, but it is there.

It is interesting that Dead Man's Honor is listed as the first book in the series. I thought this Death's Favorite Child (A Lizzie Stuart Mystery #2) by Frankie Y. Bailey was the first book in the series since it was written first and comes first in terms of the overall story arc.

Taida you are absolutely right. I didn't even check, as I read them forever ago. But Death's Favorite Child is the first one. Dead Man's Honor is the second one.
