Where are be posting stuff about my Peter and the Lost Boys series. Please, please ask quetions about anything, I am trying to develop the world and by you asking questions it will mean I have to be able to answer them, so ask away.

A Little tid bit (probs the beggining of the Story)


We were all lost before he found us. All alone, wondering in a world to big too comprehend. We were a little like broken toys, old, beaten up, thrown away and forgotten. He gave us a purpose again. A purpose to take down those harming others. A Chance to use the specific skills we had to help instead of hurt. He gave us a Chance at life. At least that's what we thought.

I like the first paragraph and only found 1 typo (too instead of to). Anyway, I have a question that might help with the world building. What do the characters eat? I know it sounds silly, but my mom asked me this very question when I was writing my first book and it really made me think about the kind of world I was trying to convey. Let me know, and I'll let you know if I think of another question :)

That is a very good question Holly, let me think. Well, they are teenage boys so they eat a lot, but nothing super duper unhealthy. They never really have the time to cook so most days they order Food, or eat out. Tim loves to cook though so he'll make something ever so often. Breakfast is normally just some cereal or toast or eggs or stuff. Lunch is self made usually not very hard to make, Sandwichs, salads, ext. and dinner is normally whatever they pick up that night. Though Tim will ocasionally cook up a meal. They don't eat anything from Chinese Restaurants though (Long Story). Most of them really like spicy Food, while some (the Irish) can't handle anything spicy. Oh and Tyler is vegetarian.

Wow! You really thought a lot about this! That's great! The best way to make a story come to life is to think about the details that make up your characters personalities, even if some of it never makes it to the final story.

I did think of another question. What kind of clothes do they wear? I always think about that one because the type of clothes worn can depict the kind of world the characters live in as well as the personalities of the characters. Let me know :)

Okay I'll just do my main characters

John- Jeans and a plain T-shirt, always
Tim- Tim is a Little different, he has Black hair that he wears Long and is normally pulled back into a ponytail, the bottom half of which is dyed bright blue (Long Story), he normally wears really colorful Shirts, and Pants, they usually clash, but he likes bright Colors. He also wears a lot of jewerally and has one earing.
Mattie- Mattie is our resident nerd and he Looks like one, he is tall and skinny and normally wears slcks or dark Jeans with a button down Shirt or a Sweater.
Billy- He only owns like one or two pairs of Pants that are always dirty and are really old and faded. He usually just wears a Tshirt and that is usually dirty too.
Archer- Dark Jeans, Plain Black shirt
Oliver- Jeans and a nice Shirt, or Sweater nothing to over the top but is always very clean and orderly
Tommy- Wears sweats half the time, while he wears a tailored suit the other half. He's 12, but likes to look fashionable. Big fan of wearing fadoras.
Peter- Skinny Jeans and a nice Shirt, sometimes will wear a Dress or a skirt, but not when working
James- Jeans a a Tshirt, normal clothes
Eddie- Like his older brother Tommy, Eddie normally wears a tailored suit the other half and while not as fashoin Forward as his brother he really likes,. fadoras.
Tyler- Normally wears sweat Pants, or loose Fitting Jeans and an athletic type shirt
Luke- Big fan of flannel, likes to look like a Cowboy most of the time
Jack and Jake- Cargo Pants and a plain Tshirt. Big fans of camo and always matching.

No problem. You really thought this through. That tells me you take your work seriously. Given time you could probably publish this. I hope you do because it sounds like an interesting take on the Peter Pan story. I better not ask anything else though, because I wouldn't want you to give too much of your story away before it's finished :)

No, These Little questions are really helping me with character development. Keep asking These types please, they won't give away too much of the Story.

Hmm...I'm not very good at this...but how about their likes/dislikes? Also who is good friends with who, and who are best friends?

Friends

Well they are all friends but there are some smaller Groups like Jake and Jack who are scarily codependent. Then there is Tommy and James who are BFF and also just a recipie for disaster. John has pretty much adopted Tyler and Luke and they are pretty much a Little Family right there. Billy and Mattie are Bros despite having nothing but thier high IQ's in common. Billy also acts as a sort of Mentor for Eddie and they are really Close, and often blow things up.

Weather changes normally as the seasons Change. Fall, winter, spring, and summer

PROLOUGE

(view spoiler)[On a cool September night, while all the other children were tucked into beds warm and safe with the knowledge that their parents were just across the hall should the monster under their beds or in their closet ever return. While all the other children had a night light shining bright across the room fighting away the darkness. While all the other children were happy and safe, one little boy ran for his life, a parcel of blankets almost too big for him to hold clutched protectively to his chest.
As the boy ran, his bare feet hit the dirty pavement hard and the footprints left in the dirt were stained red. But the little boy never stopped, never wavered; there was something much more precious than himself that he needed to save. He continued to run.
At the same time, a man was walking through a dark alleyway. The man was tall, he wore an expensive looking suit, and as he walked he checked the time on a silver watch. He hummed to himself, seemingly unaware of the danger of walking down a poorly lit alleyway in New York alone at night. In his right hand was a newspaper, the headline as seen through the man’s fingers read, “New York at War.” Yes, it definitely was not the time to be walking alone at night.
But the man continued on his path, his head held high, a bright smile on his face. It seemed nothing in the world could scare him, until quite suddenly. He stopped. The man turned his head and sniffed the air. He smelled smoke, the hot choking smell of ash, and he saw the red hot flames of a fire. It was far in the distance, but it was tall and big, lighting up the area around it like a search beacon. Now the man looked scared, for he knew whose home it was that was burning, he knew and he hoped he was wrong.
Swiftly, the man changed directions, turning to face the ocean, as he hurried, running now, all the casual carelessness having left his face. He hurried along, barly looking around himself as he ran down the backstreets he knew all to well, until with a big humph, he was knocked over. He had run into someone, a small someone. The boy, knowing he had no where left to go was crouched down, trying to look as small as possible and blending in quite well with the wall in the shadow of a dumpster. The boy was silent, gazing back up at the tall man with fearful, yet defiant eyes. They stayed like that for quite some time until a small cry broke the silence.
The boy took his gaze of the stranger to unwrap part of the blanket. A small head peeked out from the gap between the boy’s body and the blanket wrapped tightly around its body. The baby was tiny, barely a newborn. The man knelt down next to the boy, who seemed to have forgotten him now that his little charge had woken up. But, as the man reached to stroke the baby’s head, he shrank back his fearful eyes back on the man as he tried to quite the baby’s cries.
The man raised his hands up in surrender. But as he made to move away, the boy’s face softened. It was no longer on the man’s face, but on his left hand. The man followed his gaze to his pinky finger where, a ring was burned into his skin. Then the boy held up his left hand, an identical mark adorned his little finger. The baby continued to cry as the man stopped and looked upon the strange little pair. His face passing from confusion, to shock and finally to recognition. Of course, they had a small son, and weren’t they expecting a baby. What was the son’s name again, William. That was it.
“William,” the man spoke softly. He had a deep, husky voice, the type of voice you’d expect a very old, wise turtle to have, if turtles could talk. The boy looked back to the man’s face and nodded.
“What are you doing out here all alone?” The man asked, sitting down on the pavement, but keeping his distance not wanting to spook the boy, especially now that he knew who he was.
The boy spoke softly, “She told me to run.” That was all that he said, but the man understood. He stood up straight, glancing fearfully about. The boy looked up, tears in his eyes.
“C’mon,” the man said, “we should get you two out of the cold. What’s his name anyway?”
The boy stood up on shaking legs, he looked at the baby thoughtfully for a second and then as if coming to a decision replied in a small voice, “Peter.” (hide spoiler)]

Would still love more questions

I think I would have to read the rest of the novel to figure out what's going on, but I love the way you've written it so far. The language is intelligent yet easy for people to understand. You give a lot of detail in your writing but don't overwhelm your audience. It can take a long time to achieve that perfect balance of information and brevity. Keep it up :)
