When picking out a new book I have a system. I look at the cover and judge it harshly (I know, terrible). Then I will scan through the reviews and look for any that say the book is over-rated. I don't really read too many reviews because everybody has their own book preferences. There have been many books that are bestsellers that I can't stand. (Perks of Being a Wallflower being one -sorry but I just can't stand it). So I usually look for the bad to good reviews ratio. Then of course I see if my friends have rated it yet, since I usually can judge if I will like a book on if they did or not.
Do you read reviews to help you pick out your next book? Or do you just kinda wing it?
