It took half the day to swim here as Hermit found a familiar cave inside was an extraordinary coral amulet on the ground that was still damaged from being cut.
Hermit looked at what she was talking about. "DON'T TOUCH THAT!" he yelled, then cleared his throt. "Sorry... I didn't mean to yell but that is a vary dangerous animus touched item." He explained with concern on his face.
Conch recoiled at his words, staring at the talisman from a safe distance. She knew all about animus powers. The gift ran in her famili. Or perhaps more accurately, the curse."What does it do?"
"I believe it's what made my beloved Tempest lose her mind but I can't confirm that." Hermit answered as sarrow was building up in him, when he noticed the smashed egg shells were still here.
Conch barely even noticedcthe word "beloved""WOAH." She spoke "It made a dragon lose their mind?!" Awesome and scary at the same time. Conch carefull moved her tail away from the amulet.
" So, when can we start training?"
Hermit walked to the remains of the egg shells, "there's a powerful current that circles this island you can swim against that to build up you strength, and endurance after that, I can start teaching you my tricks" he said not looking at Conch.(( crap can't ghost tonight I'm on the floor.))
Conch nodded her head, eagerly flying off to the water. She and her cousins used to have races against the currents. Conch had been good at them. This would be easy. She swam through the water for a couple minutes, searching for the current Hermit had spoken of. When she found it, it took her by surprise, ripping her away before she could take a breath of the salty ocean water. Tyis current was much stronger than any of the ones back atf the sea palace. It took Conch a few moments of thrashing to reorient herself, fighting against the rush of water to stay in place. It was difficult; each wiingbeat was a feat against the raging water, and pausing for even a moment would get her swept away. But she would not be defeated so easily. Its not even an enemy, she thought, if I cant beat a measly CURRRENT then i'll never defeat Mother. With a surge of energy, she pushed forward, fighting ber way around the island. They current kept pushing her back, forcing her to swim the same stretch several times. Finally, she made it back to where she had started. She flipped out of the current and lay just under the surface, breathing heavily. She was exhausted. Hermit was right; she needed a lot more training before she was ready to challenge the queen. Tomorrow, she promised herself, Ill swim it twice.
Hermit swam down stopping above the raging current he looked at Conch who was to tired to move. He smiled, as he flicked his wings and his tail in a flip as the powerful current broke for a second as he easily passed bye before it picked back up. He handed her a fish.'You will need this' he spoke in aquatic.
Conch decided against going back to the cave. She was to tired, and besides, the water felt good. She caught a couple more lazy fish swimming in the water before curling up to sleep
By morning light Hermit waited for a hour after sunrise before he used his wings and tail hitting her with a water current to wake her up putting only minimal power behind it so not too injure Conch.
Conch shook herself awake. She was momentarily confused to see Hermit looking at her, but then she remembered. She flew out of the water. What training are we doing today?" She asked him.
"When you can make five laps around this island and still keep going then you can learn my trick. " Hermit replied.
It had been almost two weeks since they had begun training at the island, and finally Conch had been able to make the five laps. She was pleased that she had finally been able to do it, and more than a little happy to be moving on now. She wondered what Conch would think. That was the weirdest thing about being there. No other dragons. There was Hermit, but as his name implied, he mostly kept to himself. Nothing like the bustling atmosphere of the SeaWing palaces, or Jade mountain. Conch had decided she liked it. The only dragons she ever really missed was Selkie, and maybe Gourami. But she'd see them again sooner or later. Stepping out of the water, she flew into the air, landing a few wingbeats later at the entrance to the cave. "HERMIT," she called out.
Hermit was in the cave near an old nest. "Oh Tempest were have you gone." He talked to himself. Hearing Conch yell for him he turned, "over here Conch." He yelled back.
"Good good, and thank you for the fish." Hermit answered. "Alright take the day to rest we start tomorrow on your technic training." He added.
Conch was impatient. It had been days! She wished they could begin right then, but as she entered the water, she realized she was pretty tired.
Hermit watched as she went away looking up to the sky."she's going to go far off she makes it. " he mumbled to himself

((You said she went back to the water Hermit stayed were he was so technically she walked away so even if it's only temporary. Kinda filler contexted type thing.))
((Yeah, i get you. Mini android tablet thing.))The next day, Conch woke up in the water again. This made sense, as she had fallen asleep in tje water, like always. The odd thng was that she was not in the shallows like usual. She was in the current.
"AAHFFFLBLBRRB!!" she shouted.
Hermit was still looking for Conch as she wasn't in her usual spot were she slept but still couldn't find her his teal aquatic scales glowing full.
Conch turned over in the water, orienting herself with the flow of the stream. Her swimming skills had gotten much better since she had come to the island, and she used them. She pulled in her wings, shooting with the current, and then rolling out for minimal resistance. She launched herself out of the waves, shaking her wings to get the water of. She caught a glimpse of Hermit's flashing scales through the spray and flew over.
(( the new rule is going to be a problem with only us two here. Im trying to see if we can get it looked at, but for now we cant continue rping here until another person comes, and that wluld sorta mess us up anyway))
((Ok, its cool now, raya fixed it. That part of it, anyway))Conch found Hermit. She was gasping from her unexpected swim, but acted as though she was fine.
"Morning" she spoke. "So, when do we start"
