I enjoyed it a lot, and wished it had been maintained more consistently throughout. The early chapters seemed as much contemporary social satire as Arthurian fiction. And Merlyn’s “slips” often gave me a chuckle. White seems very PoMo in this regard. But it’s a funhouse mirror kind of effect to read it in the twenty-first century, because his contemporary references are not at all contemporary to us anymore!
I agree that it is quite entertaining. I think I am finding these things much funnier this time than when I read it 30 some years ago.

Does or did it distract you or confuse you an any point? Do you enjoy it?
