Note: I have taken out cards where we can use a draw 2 (you will see on our team spreadsheet where I have made notes) ; so for example, hand one has a Draw 2 and also 2x8 ; so I'm assuming we will just use the same book for both of those 8 cards.
Where there is a hand like hand 5, we will use the draw 2 for 2 different numbered cards so I haven't removed any of them yet as we don't know what they will be.
Our tracking spreadsheet is here I'm happy to share with you all to be able to edit, you can enter in your books that you intend to read and then once they are actually read I'll add in the read date and hand number they are being used for. Or if you just want to post in our team thread, then me or one of the co-caps can add into the s/sheet :)

LOVE the Muppets - my English friends calls me a muppet when I do something silly - sort of like a dag I think - a term of endearment rather than insult :)
I know some of you already - nice to meet everyone else.
I live in Darwin and I am an eclectic reader - leaning to the lighter side of books aka light and fluffies!

Welcome to the team :)

I read romance, all genres of, from clean to... not so clean.. - and throw in the odd historical (maybe there is another Edward Rutherfurd we can read for this challenge..)
So looking forward to getting started. I've already stockpiled lots of V and Z's..

Will be learning as I go as this is my first Uno - friends from another group insisted I play :)

I like to read lots of different books. I particularly enjoy YA and fantasy, but have also been catching up on a few classics recently,
Looking forward to doing Uno with you all :)

I haven't had a chance to check out our hands yet. I'll do that later today when the kids go for a day nap and see what we will need.
I found last year it worked quite well to have a tracking spreadsheet and for every book read, if you list all the ways it may fit then we can add them to the tracking spreadsheet and manoeuvre things around through the month as needed. I'll create one later and share so you can see what I mean :)

Nice to meet you too Lisa :) I've read lots of their books, they're fantastic authors. I also love Sarah J Maas, Laini Taylor, Neil Gaiman and Brandon Sanderson.
I sense my TBR list is going to expand on this challenge!

We have - and are friends already :)

Great idea Karen. That always works well and gives the greatest flexibility to get the task done.

I created a shelf - not sure if we are supposed to but it is uno-2016
Just a heads up - on Good Friday (25th March) we will be flying to Europe and not getting back until 14th April.
I will still be reading - no problems there - and I will have internet access but may be spasmodic.
As long as I know my tasks I will be able to keep up and post when I can.
Gosh does this make me a real addict if I can't even go on the holiday of a lifetime without sorting out that my challenges don't suffer!!!
LOL!!

Ahh I have so many great memories of the muppets! Watching The Muppet Christmas Carol (along with the Disney version) was my childhood Christmas tradition :)

I'm so excited to be on your team again Karen :) I was hoping I would be. You are such a great team captain. It's so lovely to be teamed up with you and Sofie again. You have both contributed new additions to my ever expanding to read list over the last year. I found out about Flavia de Luce through you Karen and loved it. Sofie's comments about Risk made me add that too.
I've just checked out my pile of shame and I have quite a few books that will work for the trickier letters ... I'll have to start a 'save for Uno' pile.

How exciting Sally. I love long flights ... reading time! I hope you have a fantastic time in Europe.

I've only stopped because they don't air them on TV around Christmas anymore! I probably should buy them and resurrect it

My ears pricked up at European trip of a lifetime... sorry to be nosy but what countries are you visiting Sally?
And I did a couple of weeks of the TT challenge in NBRC from Hawaii last November from my I-phone, the Goodreads app works just fine... so again it is perfectly normal to do challenges whilst on holidays, big LOL..

We are doing one of the scenic river cruises. Amsterdam to Budapest.
I am really excited - so the countries are The Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Hungary.
We tried to do this back in June 2013 - flew into Budapest only to be told the cruise was cancelled as the biggest floods in 500 years were happening. So we stayed in Budapest for 5 days while we organised our trip back home. Was devastated. We weren't with Scenic that time - but were abandoned by the tour company we were with (Viking).
Funnily enough the Scenic people helped us no end - and that is why we are going with them this time - they did every thing they could to help - drove us to Qatar Air office so we could change our flights. They did not have to do that as we weren't booked with them.
We leave 6 weeks today - 42 days - not that I am counting. Have 5 physical books packed - and a couple of 100 on kindle App on my iPad - so should be fine - I'll think about clothes later - the books are the important things!!!

I do need to check out my upcoming books and see what I can also put in a UNO pile :)

I bought the DVD (twice as I lost it in a move and then found it again lol). Every year we put up the xmas tree on Dec 1 while watching The Muppets Christmas Carol and drinking champagne :)

Awesome! Oh how awful that you didn't get there last time. I hope everything is hassle free for this trip :)

That's wonderful Sally. I'd love to do one of those river cruises. I'm sure everything will go well this time. My daughter and I are booked to do an ocean cruise with APT from Istanbul to Venice in June, I'm a bit nervous but happy to be travelling with an Australian company. I went with Scenic to Canada and Alaska and it was the best organised tour I've ever done.

Yes, of course. Sorry I should've put that is fine too :) I'll edit

I'm happy to update the tracking spreadsheet as I finish books. I can't write to it at the moment though.
I'm thinking this could be a good opportunity to get through some of the books that have been on my to read list for a long time ...

Yes, I'm going to see what I want to read this challenge and try and make a plan :)
If you send me your email I can share the editing rights for the s/sheet with you

I am trying to understand this - pardon my ignorance - so taking card 9 - you have the frequency of 6. Does that mean we have to read 6 books that fit one of the criteria for card 9 (I know its between us - we don't have to read 6 each) - have I got the right end of the stick here?
So for card 3 we have to read 5 books - and so on?

Okay, so I won't start on my Uno books until March 1. That's good to know. I'll try and make sure I get everything else finished beforehand :)

Yes, the frequency is how often we have that card for March.
Card Nine x 6 times, you are exactly right :)
So, one of the ones that stuck out to me was card 7 which we have six times - which is probably one of the tougher ones (V). So between our team we need to read six books during march that fit card 7
I also think card 5 (I) may also be challenging.
Card 0 is Z but we can also use standalone books so that should be fine.
Oh, and we need 4 x reverse which means reading a book someone else on the team has already read. I have sent friend requests to everyone I didn't already have added so that I can 'compare shelves' and see what I may have to be able to read to cover some of those :)

These are the books I am reading on holidays - which will be end of March/April
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Tricky Twenty Two by Janet Evanovich - will be a March read for sure - as will
A Ghoul's Guide to Love and Murder by Victoria Laurie and Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich
These are planned flight books (hello - 17 hours in a plane!!!)
The others may more be for April so worth keeping for that so I won't have to go hunting while away.

Tricky Twenty-Two by Janet Evanovich – 2 (has a 2 or Two in the title)
A Ghoul's Guide to Love and Murder by Victoria Laurie – 7 (author first name or surname starts with V)
Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich – 3 (3rd in a series)

Thanks sally! I've added to our tracking s/sheet along with character names/setting options that may help too :)
