Hi there,Glad to join the Syndicate! I love hard sci fi and snark. I also like the hard questions, like, "Who cut the cheese?" and "Seriously, it smells like a dead skunk inside a rotting corpse in here, who the hell farted?"

Hey Tal,
Great to have you join the SciFi syndicate - welcome!
I was traveling this past week so I'm behind on selecting an April book to support. Any ideas? If you have suggestions please post them as soon as you can on a new thread for April. Otherwise I'll probably make an executive decision in the next day or two before the calendar turns over.

I like your idea of selecting a G&S entry, but maybe pick one from the bottom 5 so that we keep things competitive. I'm in another syndicate that's already selected "We Clocked The T-Rex" which is great. I'd love to see The Science of Magic or Farm Boy get bumped up. Of course, naturally I'd love to extend my lead, but that's not why I joined. I want to keep things interesting, but I also don't want to syndicate myself out of the lead :D
Well, we had a little snafu. Apparently, selections by a syndicate for a given month need to be made before the 15th of that month. This will probably be changed at some point in the future - really no reason it shouldn't be at any point throughout a month. So, we missed the window for April. Everybody will have their dues refunded for April. I will make a pick in the next couple of days for May! Let me know if anybody has questions.

I'll start. My name is Matthew Sobin. I joined Inkshares back in September before jumping into the Sword & Laser: The Sequel contest with my science fiction novella, The Last Machine in the Solar System. I was thrilled and humbled by the support of my friends, family and the Inkshares community which boosted me to 2nd place. I'm super excited that my first published work will be with Inkshares!
I love great literature and great science fiction. I think the best science fiction is also great literature. I'm drawn to futuristic science fiction that maintains realism and transports us to worlds, galaxies, or dimensions that might exist someday or perhaps already do right beside us. The intellectual questions raised by Asimov, Heinlein, Wells and so many others, are what keep me fascinated and searching for the next great story.
Inkshares brings a wonderful new model to the table. It promotes opportunity and levels the playing field. I want to help further the discussion about the excellent writers and work on Inkshares. Let's work collaboratively to find the thought provoking stories that should be read, and read widely.
