Thank you so much. That is quite a compliment. I try to paint a picture with my words.

The people, some playing cards, some eating in the deli and some just browsing through the stores. It is a lovely town! Then there is the guitar picker singing and picking at the bar.

There's some old men on a bench downtown in an endless game of cards.
They're in it for the fun.
They're not in it for the bucks.
It's just a way to pass the day,
trusting in their God and luck.
And I hate to see that evening sun go down,
When lonsome's coming down my trail.
Night falls on my home town.
And I hate to see that evening sun go down.
There's folks down at Val's delly sharing dinner with a smile.
And right next door at Nordie's store folks stop and talk a while.
A truck pulls on through town
with a big old load of grain,
heading for the elevator just to see how much she weighs.
Chorus:
The working day is over and folks meet down at the bar,
to share some laughs and swap some lies and maybe play guitars.
They call it a night early,
go home to there loved ones.
Just to sleep the night away waiting till the morning comes.
and I hate to see that evening sun go down,
when lonesome's heading down my trail.
Night falls on my home town.
And I hate to see that evening sun go down.
Yes Ihate to see that evening sun go down.
