Hemlock Grove discussion

Hi does anyone know the difference between the 4 disc dvd release of season one of Hemlock Grove and the alleged 3 disc?

Because I rented it and it was four dvds but when I looked to perhaps purchase it all websites have it listed as a THREE disc box set.

I found a couple of box sets (on ebay and foreign sites [foreign from the U.S., which is where I am]) that were four disc, but they were all Region 2 (the U.S. and Canada are region 1, 2 is Europe and Japan mostly)... but as far as I can tell the listed 'extra materials' seems the same on both. I can't find an older release or anything that had more discs, so I don't know. Is it possible the place you rented from had a region 2? They usually won't play on typical U.S. dvd players, but if you watched it from a computer or on a console (xbox or playstation), then there's a chance it played fine depending on your computer or console generation.

Well the strange thing is, I ended up purchasing the three disc off amazon, and the one they sent me appears to be the same as the one I rented, it also contains four discs not three. So that's weird.
