Having finished Watchmen, the next logical step is to read the other major gritty super hero book from the 80's. TDKR worked alongside Watchmen to solidify the dark, brooding super hero as the prominent genre of the 90's, and was a major stepping stone on Batman's path to become the most popular caped crime-fighter.
